Depends how the muting works. If as I suspect, Trump is muted when he starts embarrassing Biden for all his failures, and conversely Biden is muted when he starts talking about a chair that isn't actually there or a colleague that died months ago, then Biden might come out of it OK, especially if they get his "special" pre-debate cocktail right.
