It's hard to believe that you're getting a flood of complaints as, so far, only three people have voted against the Gentleman.

Anyway, those people should not hide behind PMs. They should publicly voice their disagreement in this thread. Period.

As far as how many people voted in the poll, look at how many people looked at it, but didn't vote. It is not up to you how people choose to express their opinions.

If you read what George and Doctor Patpong wrote before, it is obvious that they don't want these kind of problems, ever again.

Tutsi-Warrior and company, you admitted that you didn't read the gentleman's posts, so you shouldn't be commenting on whether they were racist, or not, but, I would hope that you would agree that claiming that there were no Jews in the World Trade Center on 9/11, is way too close to racism, and it doesn't do anyone any good to split hairs about this type of thing.

The gentleman was quite agreeable about everything except politics, so why get rid of him forever, if he agrees to stay away from the political stuff? That is punishment enough for offending many members, and I feel that he can help make the board more enjoyable by contributing in other ways.

I've been looking over the gentleman's old posts, now that the Bear-Pit posts have been made to vanish. The truth is that, once you get rid of the political stuff, he's not a bad guy.

I do believe that he needs to be punished for the anti-Semitic posts that he made, but not being able to post anything political would serve that purpose, while not depriving us of his "company".

I'm not trying to interfere with admin.'s decision, but if the members agree, this might be a way to make everyone happy without having to ban the gent for life.

I am in full possession of a working brain, and have no need for threats.

I have declared my intent to protect myself from any nuts who decide to come looking for me. I don't think that that is out-of-line, especially with some members who insist on PM-ing me, letting me know, that they know who, and where I am.

One thing that I'm quite interested in is, what are the rules of the new Bear-Pit going to be?

To be perfectly honest, I resented the practice of letting the combatants get away with breaking a multitude of rules for weeks on the Old Bear-Pit, and then suddenly slapping their hands for doing the same thing, whenever admin was in the mood.

Another big bone of contention for me was allowing physical threats on-line. I think that it has been proven that there are some real nut cases on here, and if they are slapped down immediately for this kind of behavior, they are much less likely to get to the point where they want to act on their threats. Unfortunately, I am usually the one that they want to act on!

I have complained several times about being threatened physically, and was bounced off each time for doing so.

Thaivisa has taken a lot of steps to distance themselves from the new forum, therefore, if it is legal, I would like to see no holds barred -other than threats of violence - profanity included, but whatever is decided, please make it clear what the real rules are, and stick to those rules.

That is uppermost and poppermost in my mind right now. On one hand, the gent was the perfect villain, big, bald, bullyish, and not exactly a Shakespearean scholar. On the other hand, is the audience tired of us thrashing him day after day?

I'm afraid that we will have to leave this up to the Directors.

I can see why Europeans wouldn't like it, but they are welcome to watch the BBC.

CNN is trying to pretend to be an International news source, and is so PC it is sickening. Having Americans use British terminology ( go to hospital, instead of go to the hospital) is absolutely sickening, although I am quite content to have British reporters use the terms that they are familiar with.

Fox news uses attractive reporters instead of insisting on bland. Fox is entertaining, instead of dull.

Making the news interesting to viewers is hardly a sin, but if it were, the BBC and CNN, certainly wouldn't be guilty.

Boon Mee, I think that is Membrane's point. Mouse seems like a nice person, but, if one has even slight Communist tendencies, they can be quite hard to wrestle under control.

As of yesterday, the gentleman was banned forever, and I was about a millionth of an inch from joining him. The Bear-Pit was a terrible experiment gone array, and Thaivisa was wiping their hands of the whole sordid mess.

Tonight, there is announcement about bringing back, "The Popular Bear-Pit".

Who knows?

Now, let me get this straight. The evil gentleman has been defeated and marooned in Purgatory for the next 1,000 years, but the new, improved Bear-Pit is opening tomorrow?

Who is going to take his place as the super-villain?

Before, I take off, I wanted to give my opinion on the ultimate fate of the Bear-Pit. I think that it should be done away with.

This is supposed to be a web-site about Thailand, and I think that it should stay that way. There are plenty of interesting forums on here already. Why does thai.visa.com need a forum that generates nothing but anger, resentment and fights? As Membrane said, another Bitterfly/ gentleman clone will pop up soon enough.

By the way guys, don't bother with King's Castle I on Patpong for the next few days. To keep the celebration going, we bought out all of the stunners to bring to the resort. It's going to be a little dead for the next month or so.
