  1. I'm there at least 3 days each week. It is rarely "packed". It was busy today because around 6,000 students were vaccinated today. They started giving the vaccines at 6:00 in the morning when it was pitch dark! Most of the people who "packed" the place were parents and family of students.
  2. I don't know how to search for it on Facebook, but there was an older guy here in Chiang Mai who was doing the same thing as you. I forget what meds he was getting but one or two of them were ED meds, I remember that. One day there was a knock at his door. As he explained it, there were a team of police as well as officers from the prosecutors office and the FDA. Apparently the postal service tipped them off to the regular shipments from India and the contents - x-ray??. They informed him that he had broken a number of laws and he was arrested. The way he explained it "It was the biggest mistake of his life". I forget what it cost him to dispose of the matter, but it was a huge amount of money. Be careful!
  3. Hmmmm... I was there too and 4 people (including myself) applying for a vaccination certificate were all rejected for not having a smart phone. I had to drive home and back to get one but an elderly Korean woman and an elderly Thai woman were left out in the cold until the daughter of the Thai woman showed up to get her mother and had to use her mobile for her mother. That helpful young guy that was moving the queue along actually used his own smart phone to help the Korean woman apply for hers. So I don't see how you were able to pull it off?
  4. I discovered today that you can't get an International vaccine certificate without a smart phone. If you can't scan the code they give you then you can't get one. Lesson learned. I had to drive about 50 km. round-trip to go back and get mine and even then it seemed my mobile didn't have the scan feature. Fortunately I was able to download an app. that enabled the feature and mission accomplished.
  5. Pay in advance for a package of one-week of mobile data on your mobile (around 200 Baht), then tether to your wife's mobile via Bluetooth. She will be able to access the Internet and open her Mor Phrom App by using your mobile data connection. Your mobile provider can set this up for you.
  6. Isn't 26 November the last day to apply? That would mean the program ends 26 January 2022, correct?
  7. I love the atmosphere there, and the salad is acceptable, but the pizza leaves some to be desired. Like if you order "Italian sausage" you get pizza with sliced hot dog. Another thing really annoying is the manager/owner? - young guy who sits at the first table outside and constantly comes to the customer's tables trying to sell more wine, beer, etc. and being really pushy about asking the customer to choose a song to play. I speak with him in Thai and he always answers in what I think is English with an accent I can't figure out, but I don't understand a word he says in either Thai or English. If you try and ignore him, he stares at you and give you the "thumbs up"! Really annoying!
  8. A vascular surgeon or possibly a neurologist would be able to send you to a radiologist to check your carotid arteries for cholesterol, calcium and plaque build up. They use a number of techniques including ultrasound and angiography; among others.
  9. Rubbish. I know several foreigners who have prevailed in Thai courts; from family law to civil suits. One won a judgment against a Thai person for 60 million Baht.
  10. There are plenty way under 55 years getting vaccinated.
  11. Central C.M. Memorial Hospital also offered Moderna but I believe they ran out very quickly. That is the strangest hospital in C.M. My family was assigned there for their gold card for a couple of years before the government moved them to Nakhornping. It was an odd concept of a hospital/hotel where they marketed to foreigners to stay at the hotel/hospital and have medical treatments while there. It never took off however.
  12. To the best of my knowledge Lucky Dogs went out of business late last year or early this year. Ms. Nienke returned to Europe after many years. As I understand it, the last days were very difficult ones for her.
  13. Doxazosin and Finasteride are old medications and have a greater degree of side effects, There are newer medicines with less or no side effects. As far as Aquablation, good luck finding it in Thailand any time soon.
  14. There are many youtube videos and photos on google of the Anusarn Market - Chiang Mai Night Bazaar taken recently. Perhaps 7%? of the businesses remain. I've walked through the entire area at night a couple of times. There is absolutely nothing left of it. They have even knocked all the walls down. It's just an empty shell with a good number of homeless people sleeping in there.
  15. By about the middle of next year, the Rezum steam treatment will be available at BNH Hospital. Supposedly another treatment is already available at BNH, the name of which escapes me. They install a device into the urethra and then remove it several days later. I believe the cost is 130,000 Baht.
  16. There are many uninformed posts. It is legal to teach yoga at yoga retreats for a limited period of time in Thailand and in other countries. A very close friend of mine who is very well studied in both Europe and India has traveled around the world teaching yoga for around 10 years now - up until Covid-19 of course. The host of the retreat or resort owner arranges everything. I even asked my friend a few years back when she was teaching yoga at a 10-day retreat in Koh Samui about the legalities and she told me that her agent in Europe takes care of everything and supplied all of her credentials and passport, etc. and everything was completely legit.
  17. You are allowed to teach yoga in Thailand. Four years ago a Slovak friend attended a retreat on Samui for 10 days to teach yoga and the host/resort owner arranged all the paperwork for her.
  18. At the moment Thailand Post has many backlogs. We've been waiting two weeks now for EMS packages to get from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. There was a Covid-19 outbreak at the main sorting center in Lamphun and they shut it down temporarily for disinfection/have limited staff. They are apparently re-routing the trucks to Mae Rim where the post sits for days on end before it can be routed. Calling the post office is useless as they are inundated with phone calls and can't offer any advice other than to wait. Kerry has similar issues. We sent 2 packages last Monday; 1 to Bangkok and 1 to Hat Yai. The one to Bangkok got there Friday while the one to Hat Yai has not had any tracking updates since last Monday. DHL should be better I would think.
  19. Why not buy from the place where the Japanese restaurants buy from? We buy all of our Japanese cooking supplies from a place in Nong Hoi. It's on the R side coming from the city. I don't know the name - you will have to research it. It's a very busy shop. They have all the sauces, vinegars, seaweed, sushi making supplies and lots of imported frozen items.
