  1. Upstairs at the Drop In, Had Rin, those guys are having a great time, good luck to them. This is the other side. The general view is that old guys come to Thailand and pay thier way to get a shag and in a lot cases this is the truth, but there are also girls and am not talking about old women but women in there twenties who are doing the same. OK, its not money on the table after being humped but they pay the guys nevertheless.

As I say, good luck to them, there is definetely a market out there for that sort of thing as most of the tourist guys are getting it on with the local girls which leaves the tourist girls on their lonesome.

  2. I was an ex Police officer with the Special operation command in Singapore so i know alot of scam about this...There is alot of Question that the Cleark cant Answer when i question him..So this is a good point to Bring him dwn in Krung Thai Bank Head office.....

Seems like the clerk picked the wrong guy to rip off.

Go ahead and nail the bastard if you can, if you dont do anything he will continue to rip people.

Good luck with the meeting with the bank.

  3. Kitty, you should take pride in the fact that you are working hard so that you can travel. When you do eventually get over to SE Asia I am sure you will appreiciate your time there more than your friends as you have made sacrifices rather than receiving handouts from your parents.

My advice, dont feel jealous, keep working hard, save as much as you can and you will eventually get to where you want to be. :o

  4. any1 know about buying a return in pattaya that starts from london?

    i.e lon-bkk bkk-lon

is it cheaper getting the ticket in thailand and can it be done this way?

    can any1 offer any recomendations/advixe?

i'm in the uk at the mo so i would need to organise it from this end

    thanks in advance

When I was back in the UK I tried to to this with serveral agencies in Bangkok, all of which told me it cannot be done. If anyone knows different please post.

  5. Its not really a legal issue in Thailand but a moral one. If a 42yo guy chooses to hook up with a 16yo girl then surely that will reflect the type of person the guy is. I wouldn't go so far to call him a kiddy fiddler but I certainly wouldn't want anything to do with him either.

Since you have kids of your own Pedro its understandble that your gut reaction is to call him a kiddy fiddler. As you say, there is nothing good about this at all.

I think the guy who made the post was joking in the first place anyway.

  6. When I was a kid adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning uphill both ways through year 'round blizzards carrying their younger siblings on their backs to their one-room schoolhouse where they maintained a straight-A average despite their full-time after-school job at the local textile mill where they worked for 2 bob an hour just to help keep their family from starving to death!

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up there was no way in he11 I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

    But....

Now that I've reached the ripe old age of 45, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so f*ckin' easy!

I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a goddamned Utopia!

And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!

I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet--we wanted to know

something, we had to go to the goddamned library and look it up ourselves!

And there was no email! We had to actually write somebody a letter...with a pen!, and then had to walk ALL THE WAY across the street and put it in the f*ckin' mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!

And there were no MP3s or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to go to the goddamned record store and shoplift it yourself! Or we had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ would usually talk over some part of it and <deleted> it all up!

You want to hear about hardship?

You couldn't just download porn! You had to bribe some homeless dude to buy you a copy of "Hustler" at the corner shop! It was either that or wack-off to the lingerie section of the Littlewoods catalog!

    Those were your options!

We didn't have fancy crap like a mobile's Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either!

When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was. It could be your boss, your

mom, a collections agent, your drug dealer, you didn't know!!! You just had to

pick it up and take your chances, mister!

And we didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation videogames with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the ZX Spectrum 48k!

With games like "Space Invaders" and "Asteroids" and the graphics were awesome! Your guy was a little square? You had to use your imagination!

And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever!

And you could never win, the game just kept getting harder and faster until you died!

    Just like LIFE!

When you went to the movie theater there was no such thing as stadium seating!

All the seats were the same height! A tall guy sat in front of you, you were screwed!

And sure, we had cable television, but back then that was only like 20 channels and there was no onscreen menu! You had to use a mag like the 'Radio Times' to find out what was on!

And there was no Cartoon Network! You could only get cartoons on Saturday morning...

    ...D'ya hear what the <deleted> I'm saying!?!

We had to wait ALL WEEK, you spoiled little bastards!

That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy.

You're spoiled, I swear to God! You guys wouldn't last five minutes back in 1984!

    :o:D:D

Too true Gazza, Im 31 and I remember the hardship, but at least things started moving on towards the end of my youth, you just had it bad mate. I dont recall cable tv back in 1984, we had three channels, BBC1, 2 & ITV, although Channel 4 was launched around that time, I think.

The ZX Spectrum, ahhhhh now that brings back some memories, spending days copying a program out of a book just so you could play some shit game, nostalgia, I love it. :D

  7. This isnt just restricted to Thailand, it goes on all over the world, I know it does in the U.K.

It's not easy to say if its right or wrong, the student needs the money, the old guy needs the sex and everything else that goes with it.

Agree with it or not, it goes on, its not something I would go on a forum boasting about though.

  8. By the sounds of things the mother is putting pressure on your 'lovely'. My advice is get her away from the family for a few months at least. If she continues to hassle you for more money cut your losses and get out.

Flummoxed, many of us have been there, its not a nice place to be, but you have just got to get on with it and try not to think about where your woman was last night. You can cross that bridge when you come to it, there is no point in eating yourself up back in England right now. I did a few years ago and its one of the worst feelings you can have, you just have to trust her 90% but keep the 10% in reserve for when you return. Then you can get your interigation equipment out and find out the truth! :o

  9. I enjoyed the trials and tribulations of the Gentleman Scamp and his Ningbat. He even was so bold as to post it all in a form of online diary. Quality fodder for the grey matter. :D He must be working hard because he doesn't post much anymore.

I would agree with mbkudu, I thought the thread was quite interesting. Give credit to the guy for posting about his private life on the forum. It was the only thread I followed from first to last.

The award should go to The Gentleman Scamp. :o

  10. Yellowfish,

Hat Yai is safe, I have lived there on and off the past year and never had any problems.

If you want to go to Penang, I suggest you get the Bas Ekspress (VIP Bus) from a shop which I think is called Grassland opposite a shopping mall called Lee Garden Plaza. Ticket should cost you no more than 300 thb.

There are loads of travel agents in Hat Yai, you can pick up a mini bus almost anytime, again this will cost around 300 thb.

Cathay Guesthouse (tel no. 074-243815) is a good place to start if you want to get a mini bus.

  11. I would put it down to insecurity in most cases. Since you live just outside Pattaya, maybe you gf/wife thinks you might find someone else. You say you have been caught in the past, this just adds fuel to the fire.

I went to Pattaya with the g/f, went to meet my brother for a guys night out, told the g/f to stay back at the hotel and wait for me. It turns out she was stalking me from the moment I went out. I was pretty angry at the time but I laugh now when I think about it.

You just have to either accept it or try and find someone else who is thinks differently, which in the case of Thai women, is not easy.

  12. I use Naga Travel just over the road from Thai Immigration in Soi Suan Phlu. Nice people and can get flights at very short notice. After looking around I found they had the cheapest tickets available rg. London, Heathrow one-way from Bangkok 14000 thb.

    Kuwait Airways Baht 12,100

    http://www.mandalatravel.co.th/airticket/bookingonline.asp

Is that the overall total Bkk Bound? If so cheers, I will use that next time.

  13. Why not buy one of those 'puppet-shows' instead from the market for 200 baht?  :D

    :o

Actually they are probably better than half the stuff they show on Thai t.v.

1500 thb isn't much to buy a t.v. if you were to buy one at that price im not sure how long it would last. Save another couple of grand (2000) and get yourself a brand spanking new one as suggested by Gazza.

  14. Happy New Year all members :D

Thaivisa just keeps on going on from strength to strength. The disaster has really pushed this site to the limit but it has come through with flying colours, the name of the site is misleading, its much more than a visa site. George & co. should be commended for their hard work over the past year and especially the last week or so.

Lets hope this year will bring good fortune to those who haven't had much in the past.

    Cheers

    Pablo :o

  16. I am in Malaysia now, KL, got to say that I hate the place. There seems to be tension here between the Chinese and the Indians. Chinese seem to have most of the money and the Indians are in the low paid jobs, thats my general view. Only the other day I saw two Indian guys smash up a Chinese womans car with a crow bar in the middle of a housing estate at 9 a.m. ! :o

Cambodia, good for a holiday but the infrastructure just aint there at the moment, PP is OK for a laugh but I could not imagine living there, spent a month last time and was relieved to get back to civilised Thailand. Siam Reap, nice again but if I had to stay there in the the long term I think I may die of boredom.

If I was kicked out of Thailand I would probably go to Holland, nice people with liberal attitudes (generalising again!). If I were to stay in this part of the world and was financially secure I would probably hang out in Laos near the Mai nam kong as my home in Thailand isnt far away and I reckon I could skip in and out if I wanted.

  17. Tornado,

in light as to what has happened I can understand your anger. I have no wish to meet either you or Dr P and have never in any post expressed that.

I dont have to fly anywhere as am in KL at the moment but will be in Thailand sometime next week. I to have been worried about friends over in Phuket, although I have been in contact with them and they are O.K. but I am still waiting to hear from friends in Sumatra, Indonesia who Im worried about.

Please dont confuse your anger and sorrow about the terrible disaster that has struck with the discussion on this thread.

If everyone were to follow your example the whole forum would discuss nothing but the disaster.

I dont know you and I would like to keep it that way, Tornado, there are hard men but there is always someone harder around the corner, you cannot fight the world my friend, so keep your juvenile threats to yourself. You seem to make a habit of threatening people in this forum, it really doesn't belong here, we are all adults, no.

The matter is closed as far as I am concerned, peace to you and and all Thaivisa members.

I often check the chat room and apart from the other night (Pen, Tuky and G) today there's no one in there. It gets a little lonely in there by yourself

It then becomes a meditation room. Oooooommmmm.

I was in there about ten minutes ago, there was a guy/girl in there who never said a word. It was like talking to a brick wall.:o

  19. True Neeranam, a couple of cans of Tennants Super was always good appetiser before going the pub. If I found myself a bit short on cash I would get Heldenbrau Super which is much the same only a seems a little thicker. If I was flush I would opt for Carlsberg Special Brew but you would get the name 'posh' for yourself if anyone saw you drinking that where I came from. :o

    Leith, Irving Welsh, Trainspotting, brilliant.

  20. My girlfriend helps out now and again but there is no way I could take her everywhere with me and Ive no doubt she feels the same. I think my learning Thai has been hindered sometimes due to the fact that if we go out to a local restaurant etc the person will always ask my gf what I want and not me, but hey its nothing to get angry about, lifes too short.
