  1. You should of gone to the Tourist Police and spoke to them they would of at least listened to you and given you some advice from an English Speaking person.

Thats what they are there for, why you would go to a regular police station is beyond me.

The problem with most on TV is they slag the TPD off but they are there to assist you specifically in cases like this.

    Let the bashing begin

  4. Probably illegal in Thailand, same as prostitution is illegal.

Its Illegal they cant sell that sort of stuff

I heard there is one behind a curtain but very covert

Cucumbers work just as well you just have to to the buzz sound yourself :D

  5. Are you related to them or something? What kind of response do you expect? "smart guys...they should go free"

These guys who think they are above the law need an awakening. I am confident they will get it

    Above the law

Being an idiot is not against the law

All i saw with Purcell was expressing freedom of speech on a stage, Smart ? maybe not but this witch hunt will just go to show how ridiculous Thailand is yet gain.

The other guy well he is even more of an idiot and probably need to be locked up for a while so he shuts his noise up big mouthed wanna be thug

But really why is thailand wasting their time ? Deport them and be done with it.

but that would be too simple :) for thailand

  6. I tried a few nights ago to watch a match on BBC 1. The introduction show with Gary Lineker & guests was good, but when it came to the match the picture was too small for me to enjoy plus the fact that it was nearly a minute behind the picture on Thai TV. The picture quality was very good with no buffering, but I do prefer the luxury of watching on a TV.

Now I have a compromise, watch the introduction on the PC, switch to BBC 5 Live for the commentary, and back to the TV for the half-time chat and summary. I's a bit messy, but it helps to keep me awake during the third match.

Why dont you just plug the computer into the telly then you get the big screen

  7. I watched the first 2 matches last night using twofortheroad's method (thank's for that) and I had a 15 second delay for the first half of each match, but a 10 second delay for the second half. The South Africa match was not so constant, several times the radio broacast stopped and when it restarted it was not in sync. I agree with thaimiller, it's not worth trying to mess around with the delay, just re-load the BBC page and usually everything is fine again.

No i never did it with radio 5 live I actually watched the BBC1 broadcast live from the UK just as if I was in the Uk watching it on the telly.

I found the earlier games had buffering problems and thought I had wasted my money getting the report but it turned out to be the fact loads of people were on the net and the bandwidth was the issue, the S Africa game worked like a charm couple of little bufferings and a restart but other than that it was excellent. Been watching BBC and ITV all morning with little to no buffering problems.

I am well happy now I have english Tv in thailand, I think I will keep testing it before deciding if I give up my satellite montly package but if it works as good as its been this morning I wont need to pay for sat tv

  8. Yesterday I got a report that showed me how to get Uk television over the net with nothing blocked and i watched the match last night SA vs Uruguay and it worked great with a few little restarts.

I watched it on the BBC with Gary Lineker and co and it was the first match I really enjoyed as it was all english commetary in sync and I cant wait for tonights england game was gonna watch it in town but now Im staying home to watch it on the BBC or whatever Uk channel its on as this thing has 39 channels including all BBC channels and ITV channels

I have a 3m connection and the earlier game was having bandwidth issues but the late 1.30 kick off worked a treat and I have been watching english tv all morning online and it works Brilliant with a bit of buffering every now and then but overall great and very watchable.

I think during peak usage there will be bufering delays but this is the best free english tv online program I have found.

Had to pay 500 baht for the report but well worth it.

  9. And it was fantastic all with english commentary on the BBC with Gary Lineker and the crew

Finally a way to watch English TV online and it actually works with and additional 30 channels

Sad to admit but I also watched Judge Judy on ITV :)

Can't wait for the english game tonight Im staying home to watch it on the BBC

  10. impressive work. good job.

the government can be proud of its Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, the Ministry of Culture and the police as well as other related units.

I second that. I feel that I will sleep better tonight knowing that it will be harder for Thai people to bet on the world cup. Well done The Ministry of information and communication technology, the Ministry of culture and the police thank goodness we can rely on all of you to make thailand a safer place.

Me too instead they can continue to bet on the Mua thai fights right out in the open in full public view LAMAO what a joke

  11. Just confirms again what a joke the Thai judicial system is.

If he had killed a a member of my family in the way he did Gary Poresky which was assasination style 1 to the body 2 to the head to an unarmed man sitting in a restaurant, then i would make sure that his sentence continued and would ensure he never made his next birthday.

Its totally disgusting that he is out free after 2 years for COLD BLOODED MURDER

  12. In what way does Interpol have to "co-operate"? The case gets presented, they agree or not.

I think something is lost in translation here. What would Thailand do if Interpol didn't "co-operate"?

"Scream, and scream, and scream until I'm sick"?

Go back and read the post again you might get it right the second time round

My point is, it would again make Thailand look bad if Interpol did not act on Thailands request, it would indicate the charges are trumped up and Interpol did not consider the charges legitimate.

    We will see soon enough

Still no answer from all you government allies as to what the alleged evidence is

  13. :) FC is making a strawan argument. So far the charges of terrorism with the warrant hasn't gone out to governents or Interpol. They probably won't for about a week. After that Interpol will review the evidence and decide to issue an International warrant or not. That may take a week or more. Governments will get the warrant (Thai) at the same time and will start reviewing whether they wish to allow Thaksin entry into their countries.

If the case is compelling for the charge of terrorism (and foreign press suggests it is!) then Interpol will help facilitate an arrest. Then it goes to the governent of the country he is arrested in to extradite or not.

Political motivation will not be an issue in a charge of terrorism if a pria facie case is made for the warrant. It doesn't matter how much Thaksin supporters cry about it, there is no excuse allowed for commiting acts of terrorism, conspiring to commit acts of terrorism, or financing terrorism.

If Interpol does not issue the arrest warrant after reviewing the so called evidence how do you think that will look on Thailand. ?? I guess Interpol will be the next to be attacked by TV members LOL

  14. I guess your right however I did see a statement from Interpol saying they do not get involved with political cases of which this seems to be the case unless we receive evidence on the contrary.

You also have to take into account that evidence can be falsified by the government to try and get the warrant accepted.

    What is the evidence ??.??

    anyone know

or just that the government says he is a terrorist and that is evidence enough

  15. All politically motivated and the real world can see through this Thai governments BS and wont arrest Thaksin on pumped up political based charges.

Its clear for everyone to see around the world (except most expats on this board) that Thailand is out to get Thaksin in a big way and like Thaksin stated, he will most likely be assasinated if he does ever get returned to Thailand and then the Thai government will blame the red shirts for assasinating him because they wanted to implicate and put the blame on them :) this government is really a joke

And on another not now that Abhisit has back tracked on his promise of elections by the end of the year I have no doubt the reds will rise again as this PM has proven to be a liar and only said it to get them to stop now he has stopped them why bother now.

  16. for the hundreds of current red sympathisers inhabiting this site, those who are still here but have been re-incarnated and for those who have permanently fallen by the wayside.

especially for all of you who said that Abhisit would never have the support of the Army, Navy, Air force or the Police

    here's something just for you

:):D:D LOL yeah ok lets see that is going to happen after all this is settled down and the muderous rampage of the government is shown for what it it cold blooded MURDER unarmed civilians shot in the head unarmed medics shot unarmed journalists shot and targeted

we will see who is eating humble pie

  17. OK, again for the slow kids at the back. because the reds are not an elected government. not an elected government the reds are. elected government the reds are not. the reds have a minority of their protestors employing guerilla tactics, there is still a massive majority of innocent people within their camp.

the government of thailand seems incapable of resolving the situation without breaking international human rights laws. so, you get the UN in to mediate and at the very least get the innocent people out of the line of fire.

Provide ONE example of a person killed within the legitimate (and i use that term loosely) red camp

for christ's sake would people please begin reading and understanding? it doesn't matter whether or not anyone 'innocent' has been killed. the thai army is shooting live rounds in areas where there are its own unarmed citizens. this is a massive breach of UN human rights laws.

how the hel_l are people not getting this? it's not complicated.

Here is your proof, both inside RED camp.

    Sae Daeng is one.

A second one in this clip min 1:10

NO REAL DEFENSE TO THAT VIDEO IS THERE

  18. Watch at 32 seconds (look at man on right) and you will see why Reds are using fireworks and why fireworks & bottle rockets always precede attacks such as the grenade attacks on the SkyTrain.

This is the most amazing video I have seen.

Did you also see the red who empties a machine gun clip while the string of firecrackers is set off???

Who would be filming these? Maybe the video comes from a confiscated camera.

That incident was so fast I am not even 100% it was a machine gun looked like he was playing around but t was too quick for me ot see what it really was

It may not be a machine gun or automatic weapons but is certainly appears to be a rifle that the guy is firing randomly under the cover of the fire crackers. If true, then it is clear the army is likely not the ones who pulled the trigger on many reds, reporters or medics ... one also has to wonder who has gained and who has not from reporters and medical workers being shot.

    armed.jpg

    Could also be a stick

  19. Wonder how fast Thaivisas member would behead Mother Theresa herself...

Amnesty is a respected organisation. It may not be without flaw, but that is not the point. The point is that Thailands government is breaching major human rights.

I would like to see Amnesty beeing alowed to look at the rights of those that are arrested and given blanket jail penalty. Did they get the right to lawyers? Right to appeal? All experience from western demonstrations shows that most of who get arrested are innocent. Thats also why the penalties for beeing caught in protests in european countries are low.

These Red Shirts being shot are Not protesters...They are terrorists... lets not get this wrong..!! what are they doing where they are..??

Yawn Yawn unarmed civilians are not terrorists the guys in black with automatic weapons I agree could be labeled as such but in the governments words there are only 500 at the most of them the rest are unarmed civilians

  20. Watch at 32 seconds (look at man on right) and you will see why Reds are using fireworks and why fireworks & bottle rockets always precede attacks such as the grenade attacks on the SkyTrain.

  21. there's a quite staggering lack of understanding in this thread of what constitutes a breaking of international human rights laws. that many people can't get their heads around the fact that human rights laws apply to elected governing bodies and administrations and not to groups of people shacked up in a road somewhere breaking domestic laws reflects very badly on the average IQ of a thaivisa poster.

Agreed. Very upsetting video of Thai Army sniper killing 5 people in Rang Nam. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXcT4dtRtnE

This doesn't even happen in Burma or North Korea!

can only see one dead people on the video and we see no sniper, so we don´t know who shot!

Amazing how many people defend killing these poor people. You sell bullets or something? "It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it!" as Sinclair so rightfully said.

Who do you think is shooting in this video? Micky and Mini?

Pretty much says it all in that video and could be used in evidence to prosecute the government after all this is over

One thing you guys can see is that none of them are armed or in black shirts,

but you will probably STILL say that they are hiding there weapons under there dead bodys

  23. "Eyewitness accounts and video recordings show clearly that the military is firing live rounds at unarmed people who pose no threat whatsoever to the soldiers or to others," said Amnesty's Thailand specialist Benjamin Zawacki.

Less wacki tobacki for Mr. Zawacki :

This guy is not firing at 'unarmed' people, he's firing with a hangun at the might of Thailands military who are armed to the teeth including M79 grenades, strange that eh ?

    [see image above]

According to all official announcements, the Army is not allowed "heavy weapons" which include m79 grenades. My understanding is the grenades and RPGs are being used by the red side. If you have any evidence otherwise, I would be interested.

And I would be interested in you posting a red shirt shooting an RPG
