  1. Everything is set up so that they can pull the rug out from under you.
  2. it's often not your aircon that you have to worry about, it's the noise from your neighbours worn out unit.
  3. They've forgiven him for making them do aerobics before work then? In fairness he did it for the first day and then went to get changed in an office with an en suite shower.
  4. The problem is that there is also a risk that you pay premiums for years and then still have to pay out of pocket.
  5. We as foreigners live in Police State now.
  6. Friend who is wealthy retired and owns condo will only be coming for 30 days now as last time the TR application was such a hassle - required TM30 documents from him as far as I can tell. Meanwhile millions can come in on a VE/VoA and stay in an unregistered AirBnB. Thailand is just no longer attractive enough a destination to put up with this. Before it was a free and easy place and that is what we liked about it.
  7. For 5m baht aren't they now comparable with countries that offer citizenship/residency/passport rather than a revokeable 5 year at a time renewable visa?
  8. As I said on another thread, they are obviously seeking t attract "quality" criminals.
  9. Obviously aiming to attract "quality" criminals.
  10. Isn't there 800k in the bank on the day of the extension as per the law?
  11. Isn't there 800k in the bank on the day of the extension as per the law?
  12. It's like a swarm of Chinese criminal locusts have descended upon Thailand. ...but making visas easier for them. In other news: visas likely to be made harder for retirees.
  13. Really, tighten why and why these countries? I presume you are not a citizen of any of the above so perhaps you can tell us which country you are from and what visa/extension type you are on and why no tightening is necessary in your case.
  14. This. If TM30 were really that important wouldn't they be out there going through condo and apartment buildings looking for Landlords not filing TM30? A material number of people are coming in on VE/VoA and staying in AirBNB accommodation with the Landlord likely not filing TM30 in many cases, but they seemingly do nothing about this (Phuket in fairness did recently).. They make a visit to someone who has shown 800k in the bank and a lease though. I would guess a far greater percentage of crimes are committed by people coming in on VE/VoA than by people on retirement extensions. What visa were the Erawan Shrine bombers on? What visa were the Iranian bombers on? No TM30 filed by the landlord for the latter. My condo has people doing ST AirBnB lets - we don't know anything about these people staying here against the law and condo rules. I am far more uncomfortable with these people than someone who has put down a 2 month deposit.
  15. This thread is about depression. It is not about coping with life events. You are a very sad person.
  16. I stopped using them when instead of being taken to your banks website you were required to upload a screenshot.
  17. One of the risks with treating ENDOGENOUS depression with antidepressants is that as people's mood and MOTIVATION improves they actually become motivated enough to attempt suicide. Got it? They don't have the motivation to make multiple suicide attempts. I have every sympathy with you if you have been in that mental state - I have had similar but not to the point of making a real attempt (I managed to convince a Thai lady who was talking about it by going through all the methods and how they can leave you if they go wrong - she looked at me and asked "check already?" and I told er "Yes, check already".
  18. Has he not stopped to think who their Daddies might be?
  19. Pretty much how I fixed self pity, but it doesn't work for endogenous depression. I just don't think we are talking about the same thing - I can be PERFECTLY HAPPY but unable to function. Read what people are writing on this thread, they are talking about a different condition to you, but you are assuming what you have is what they have.
  20. Loss of appetite is often a symptom of endogenous depression, so they might not be able to - a Doctor might ask if you have lost weight - conversely, depressed people can put on weight.
  21. Sounds like you had "self pity", not endogenous depression. I have got myself out of self pity by my own actions more than once, I cannot do that with what I regard as endogenous depression.
  22. Doctors tend to judge depression by 'ability to function' rather than "feelings".
  23. I am already doing that and have done for decades (probably more decades than you have been alive) so I fail to see how I am "misguided". I was a regular member of a self help group for decades. Things are just not as simple as you think they are.
