  1. It was working OK previously, so something had to be done. I can't believe the supporting documents have to be uploaded again. WHY? If we are in the system that means they have already been uploaded once, so why again? WHY? Very poor.
  2. Never heard of a TM30 printed by Imm. You can print a screenshot though so maybe that is it, or was it aTM47 (90 day). It seems to me that you will need to do a new one with new passport number (I did), probably manually - don't know if you have an online TM30 account or if it can accommodate a passport number change.
  3. By us.
  4. Didn't they recently state that they were implementing a system that would give a list every day of all those going onto overstay (they stated that currently they couldn't). Shame you weren't there to tell the IO who stopped me in the street and asked for my passport.
  5. likewise at CW, also bankbook updated on the day for retirement extension.
  6. We did have a Prime Minister [Chavalit] explain that it was "Thai Way"
  7. Dude gets it (relative to here at least).
  8. A matter of opinion. I note that a senior Policeman presiding over a recent murder case thought it appropriate to discuss visas.
  9. Long time ago but thought it the worst of both worlds - a cross between a boring provincial town and a tourist trap.
  10. Just hope that immigration don't require it dated within the last month, but your agency requires 3 months to issue one........................... Like all these people who want to see compulsory medical insurance, but don't stop to think that you will be required to line the dates up exactly with your extension as per OA. How many dates do you want to have to have line up exactly at extension time? This is why it is best not to wish for these things, it may be YOU who falls through the cracks.
  11. They need an illusionist, not an advertising agency.
  12. So no comments about the prawns not lasting very long on the buffet table then?
  13. I can't help but think being shot dead for refusing to make a promotion is more the issue here.
  14. I realise that this might be difficult to grasp for someone with an over pedantic mindset, but the point I was making was that the case should/may have relevance to visas. If "too easy"retirement extensions are going to be tightened up on due to one crime, shouldn't any other visa type be tightened up on if people are who are using it commit crimes? Those on ED visas might be wondering if that was their visa type, as if it is, then there might be a crackdown on "criminals using ED visas".
  15. Just want to point out that the rats they eat in Isaan are not Brown Rats (Rattus Norvegicus) but a type of field rat. Anybody know where they can be ordered grilled in Bangkok?
  16. I wonder if he is the tourist in the video.
  17. Stated crackdown on foreign criminals operating here. This news item is about some criminals. Do try to keep up.
  18. The authorities have slowly but surely closed off ways of staying in Thailand LT/more than a year or so, all that is left is those where the stay (one year) is enshrined in the 1979 act. If they wanted us here LT why close ff all ways they can of staying here LT?
  19. It is a capital intensive business. If you are using high leverage you will be wiped out by normal market fluctuations. That is why they [bucket shops ] give you the leverage.
  20. Seconded and I love kao Chee* Laab, Gai Yaang and Som Taam and Naam Prik Oong. * so far I have only got people laughing when I refer to it as S-teak Lao. They appreciate the joke that broken rice with egg is like a steak to them.
  21. I don't even know what it was (seriously). All kinds of things on a platter. Horse Piss eggs was one thing, the only thing I could eat was some ham like meat. This was at a restaurant by the reservoir at Khon Khaen, not some village.
  22. Not to hijack the thread here but on AN we have loads of digital nomads making huge amounts of money online [aparently*] but they seem very backward about coming forward on this thread and telling us what exactly it is that they. *the more cynical might note that the Elite Visa just never seemed to be the right solution to their long stay visa issues, also the number of discussions on living in Chieng Mai on Bt15,000/month.
  23. Pro tip: Don't eat Isaan food in Isaan with locals doing the ordering. It won't be Laab, Gai Yaang and Som Taam. It will be things you can't eat.
