Recommendation for Fasting Blood Sugar testing meter
I use an Accu-Chek Guide, quite happy with it. But you can never expect high accuracy with finger-prick meters, and especially if the strips are out of date. I feel that they show too low values when old, but cannot substantiate this with any facts. So better look for trends than accurate values. Whenever I go to have tests done at a hospital or clinic I test with my own meter right before and right after drawing blood, and save the readings until I get the lab result. It can serve as a rough "calibration" of your own meter vs the more accurate lab tester. And I have generally found my meter to be within ±5-8 units (using the mg/dl scale), which I consider totally acceptable. Just for laughs (and to annoy the nurse ), I ask them to also measure my blood pressure and SAT with my devices. Generally the readings are close.

Is the prostate a design fault?
@simon43 I am listening to a podcast by Dr Peter Attia discussing the prostate, and the specialist he is interviewing said that in addition to the reproductive function of the prostate it seems like it has at least one other function: Due to the prostate being very unfriendly to bacteria (acidic), it can act as a protective buffer to protect the bladder (and ultimately kidneys) from infection. So perhaps don't do that DIY urethra rerouting just yet... Here is the link to the podcast, over 3 hour long and at times complicated, but worth a listen if you have any prostate issues: https://peterattiamd.com/tedschaeffer2/

Is the prostate a design fault?
Going back to before grain based agriculture started playing havoc with human health, if you managed to avoid wild animals, fatal falls, warring tribes, infections and other "hard stops", perhaps "old age" still wouldn't by itself cause BPH?

Is the prostate a design fault?
Could it be that the design initially was fine, but evolution has not caught up with all the ills of modern living, like pollution, radiation, diet, hormone issues and probably many other things causing the prostate to enlarge?

YouTube blocking
Sorry, migrating was not a good word. Not content provider, just user, but looking for content elsewhere. You are right that a premium subscription would fix the ad issue, but even though I like the massive content, it pains me to register (and pay, even a small amount) to Google/Alphabet, a company I do not respect at all. And yes, you can call me a hypocrite, I will not take issue with that. I might end up giving in and subscribing, also because I watch a lot of YT via Apple TV, and there I cannot use an adblocker (unless I block at the moden/browser level, which I currently cannot do, and they will block that as well soon). I normally subscribe, like to Netflix and newssites, and never use pirate software. So it is a confusing and frustrating life in the digital domain.

YouTube blocking
Well it seems to escalate, today I got a message that I have three free views and then blocked. Didn't test it, and I am busy migrating to Rumble for many of my needs.

That sounds a bit sad to me

Expats seeking a new life face challenges with stricter banking and taxation rules being pushed
Most, if not all, savings must have originated as some kind of income, taxable or not (this will vary according to what situation/country you are in): Salary, interest, dividends, capital gains, etc. Or is it only a matter of time: Does income turn to savings after one or more year? Like how Thailand until now seem to have treated transfers from abroad?

gerd and dietary supplement
I might have missed it, but I don't see much talk about trying a low-carb diet, since lots of carbs will reduce the stomach acid and cause poor closing of the valve (forgot the name). In some cases this one thing may be all you need to do. No risk, no cost so worth a try. And it will give many other spin-off benefits too.

Jomtien Immigration
I believe that when you wait to get your reentry permit done and have your passport back, they call out your name only. This may have changed now since I did it last time.

Honda car service in Pattaya
I have an older Honda Accord that needs some TLC, and I have now again been let down badly by the Honda dealer on Sukhumvit Road just north of Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. Can anyone recommend an alternative dealer in or "nearbyish" Pattaya that has a professional attitude and solid knowledge? Especially with car electrics. I believe I heard that there are two more dealerships around here, but not sure about that, or about the quality of suchlike. Worst case I will take the car to Bangkok, but prefer not, due to the logistical implications. My old dealer mentioned above seems to have weak management that permeates all parts of the company, with a very lax attitude to customer service and professional work standards. Most staff seems to be buried in their phones instead of solving customers' problems. Once I even had to complain to Honda HQ in Ayutthaya, and they intervened swiftly and fixed the problem. But I cannot go running to them every time. Thanks for any suggestions!
