George Santos took $3,000 from dying dog’s GoFundMe, veterans say
Berkshire replied to Scott's topic in World News
A doggie AND a vet! Oh dear. But this won't be enough for him to get booted from the GOP. He would have to......man, I can't think of anything. -
So a rich person can never be criticized because it's always about "jealousy"....? You need to change the music occasionally. Singing the same tune over and over gets tiresome.

American men are easily enamored by a pretty face (and a hot body). I should know, being an American. An equally fluent English speaker who happens to be a Thai guy (or an older, less attractive female) would not get the same treatment. It's not just immigration, but other aspects of life. An attractive female in the US can easily talk her way out of getting a speeding ticket. But a guy? Forget about it.

The Baht Thread
Berkshire replied to nigelforbes's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Thanks OP for the informative explanation of the dynamics of currency fluctuation. I tend to believe that the value of the THB (with respect to other currencies) has more to do with what is happening in the home country of that currency, not the Thai GOV. The USD, for example, is largely tied to what's happening in the US, i.e., interest rates, the economy, trade, politics, etc. The BOT can only try to minimize volatility, that's it. I'm most interested in the USD for selfish reasons, and I recall the dollar going to 38 recently....mostly due to hefty interest rate hikes by the fed. I had no idea it would tank to below 33 this quickly. It seems inflation in the US is slowing, so the feds are also putting on the brakes. What concerns me is the looming debt ceiling issue. If the US were to default, no idea what that would do to the USD. But I'm guessing it won't be good. -
Donald Trump's Saudi Arabia Payments Spark Calls for Fresh Investigation
Berkshire replied to Scott's topic in World News
Even if Trump was found to have taken millions from MBS in return for favorable US policy towards Saudi Arabia, his idiot supporters won't care. The cult leader can do no wrong. -
Russian Man Wreaks Havoc at 7-11 in Pattaya’s Walking Street
Berkshire replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Nah. Guys like this would destroy an innocent and harmless 7/11. But if he sees a Ukrainian soldier, he'd probably pee in his pants and bolt in the opposite direction. -
Classified documents from Biden’s time as VP discovered in private office

5555....if it was, D. Trump would have been arrested long ago. -
I can appreciate you guys' one-way bromance with Elon. But the point is his right wing views are toxic and costing him money. If he keeps at it, he'll lose even more....which is fine according to you geniuses....5555

I doubt he enjoyed losing 60% of his wealth inside a year. Being the darling of the right ain't what it's cracked up to be. These right wing nutters that admire him aren't the ones buying Tesla's. Elon will figure that out soon enough.

Hmmm.....seeing a story like this, I wonder why other lonely men in the west don't just procure a hottie doll like this dude. I'm talking about the Incel movement in the US, a bunch of lonely guys who can't get laid and lash out violently at women in general. They need to get a doll! [The federal government on Tuesday released a study on the growing terrorism threat from men who call themselves "anti-feminists" or "involuntary celibates" and draw motivation for violence from their inability to develop relationships with women. Since 2014, attacks inspired by the "incel movement" and spanning the U.S. and Canada have left dozens dead.] https://www.cbsnews.com/news/incel-threat-secret-service-report/

Classified documents from Biden’s time as VP discovered in private office
Berkshire replied to Scott's topic in World News
Exactly. There are very little similarities between this situation and that of the former disgraced Prez. But the Republicans will spin this to make it seem like it was....or even worse. Regardless, Trump will get nailed for some other criminal act. It's simply in his nature. ["Biden's team did exactly what you're supposed to do," Moss said. "When you find improperly stored classified documents, you immediately notify the government — and you turn it over immediately."] https://www.yahoo.com/news/theres-key-difference-between-classified-004201530.html -

Interesting.... [The House Freedom Caucus nominated Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., for House speaker during Wednesday's votes.] I actually saw this guy speaking to CNN the other day. A rather thoughtful, articulate guy. Oh, he's also an African-American. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/house-freedom-caucus-to-nominate-byron-donalds-for-speaker

Trump Appears To Float Third-Party Threat If GOP Won't Back Him
Berkshire replied to Scott's topic in World News
Agree. The GOP can't win with Trump, and they can't win without him. If the Republicans support Trump for 2024, they'll lose because Trump cannot win a general election. If they support someone else, Trump will take his base elsewhere. The ONLY solution for these spineless Republicans is for Trump to be indicted/convicted. Then they'll attack the Dems for politicizing the DOJ and Trump's idiot base will love them for it. It's their only way out.
