I've lost track....so which denial is Trump going with at the moment? Is it "I've never met her," or "I've never slept with her," or "I've never paid her hush-money," or "I barely know Michael Cohen," or.....whatever. One thing is certain, whatever Trump says about this whole saga is guaranteed to be a lie.

Appears Tate lost his appeal, will remain in detention. I'd never heard of the guy until recently, but he appears to be a grade A scumbag..... [They allege the suspects had formed an organized criminal group that stretched from Romania to Britain and the United States, for the purpose of human trafficking.] [Andrew Tate is known for his viral rants online about male dominance, female submission and wealth. He openly advocates violence against women, and had previously been banned from every major social media platform until Elon Musk reinstated his Twitter account after taking over the company.] https://edition.cnn.com/2023/02/01/europe/andrew-tate-rejected-appeal-romania-intl-hnk/index.html

Tom Brady announces retirement: ‘I’m retiring for good’
Berkshire replied to Scott's topic in World News
I'm actually a Niner fan and would prefer that they stay out of this. They've got a couple of young studs already (Lance and Purdy), not to mention Jimmy G....who's probably on his way out. Brady's got MAYBE one good year left...and that's with a team that has everything else already in place. -
Tom Brady announces retirement: ‘I’m retiring for good’
Berkshire replied to Scott's topic in World News
I've come to like/respect Brady ever since he joined the Bucs. Wasn't a big fan when he was with the Pats. Anyways, I do believe that he means it this time, with respect to retiring. But I do recall him making a similar announcement last year, only to return. I'll bet if someone (like the Raiders) were to do a Vito Corleone and make him an offer he couldn't refuse, he might just change his mind. Would have liked to see him in silver and black....even though I'm not a Raiders fan. -
Treasury secretary warns US could default on its debt as soon as June
Berkshire replied to Scott's topic in World News
I think everyone who understands capitalism knows that entrepreneurs are essential. No one disputes that. But the massive wealth creation we've seen in recent decades are mostly the result of the capital markets. Virtually all the top billionaires in the world are wealthy through stock ownership. Hedge fund managers can make obscene amounts of money without producing anything. I doubt anyone wants to go after small business owners, but that's what you seem to be implying. You're trying to defend the ultra wealthy who themselves largely believe they should pay their fair share. -
Just because you know how to pay a girl for sex doesn't make you a genius.

Not with the current condition of the GOP. If Trump is the Republican nominee, the GOP will lose because Trump cannot win a general election. If the GOP decides to pick Kemp or DeSantis or whoever, Trump may run as a 3rd party candidate. Or if he doesn't, he'll be bashing the GOP dude day and night 24/7. Which means most of the MAGA base will sit out 2024. With Trump in the picture, the Dems are pretty much guaranteed to win in 2024.

Kari Lake loses court case on results of November election
Berkshire replied to Scott's topic in World News
Kari Lake's crusade is not about winning anymore or "saving Arizona." It's all about raking in the cash. You have to wonder how stupid people have to be to send her money. Then you realize that she's preaching to the MAGA crowd. That should explain it all. [The salary of Arizona’s chief executive is $95,000, ranking near the bottom of the 50 states.] [Meantime, as has been reported numerous times in the past week or so, Lake, who was defeated by Katie Hobbs, has collected more than $2.5 million since the election.] [Saving Arizona is only a rallying cry, a call to arms. It’s not the goal. The goal is to maintain the impression that Arizona needs to be saved, and that Lake is the only person who can do so. With the help of generous congregants, of course. God help them.] https://www.yahoo.com/news/dissecting-dark-heart-kari-lakes-140042523.html -
Are tip requests getting out of hand ?
Berkshire replied to Social Media's topic in US & Canada Topics and Events
Perhaps the OP should have made clear that the article is about TIPPING IN THE USA. And yes, tipping has gotten out of hand in the USA. -
First on CNN: Classified documents found at Pence’s Indiana home
Berkshire replied to Scott's topic in World News
Agree. It's probably routine and not at all sinister. I'm sure every last one cooperated with the government when discovered to ensure proper compliance and control. The one BIG difference is with a certain D. Trump who refused to cooperate and obstructed to the point of the DOJ having to raid his home. But as someone said earlier, some Americans can't (refuse) to see the glaring difference. -
Here’s what will happen to the economy as the debt ceiling drama deepens
Berkshire replied to Scott's topic in World News
[The US government hasn’t run a fiscal surplus since 2001. Under President Trump, the deficit increased every single year and ballooned to more than $3 trillion in 2020 due to the government’s response to the pandemic.] [Under Trump, the US debt increased by a total of $7 trillion and during his presidency Congress voted to increase the debt ceiling three times.] https://edition.cnn.com/2021/09/24/politics/mccarthy-democrats-debt-ceiling-fact-check/index.html -
America has a reputation for being overly litigious. Trump is the poster child. He sues people because he can. Nearly every lawsuit he initiates is frivolous. He sued an author once because the guy revealed Trump's wealth to be much less than he brags. Trump lost. But because most people don't have the means to deal with lawsuits (and the usual appeals), they'll settle. All of those election fraud lawsuits in 2020 were frivolous, clogging up our courts. Simply put, Trump is a menace to American society.

No need to get all defensive. I never suggested that this happens more in the US than other countries--you did. While this kind of thing is hard to quantify, most attractive women will tell you they get special treatment for all manner of things...mostly from men of course. It's even been pointed out in TV shows, like Seinfeld. But the entire point of my post was that the Thai female in the OP suggested it was her fluency in English that got her the special treatment. I'm saying it wasn't that at all, but rather it was her physical attractiveness. Are you agreeing with me or the girl in the OP?
