  1. Good for you. Is that all YOU have to say? You do realise that not everybody invests. Please tell us all in your own words what Russia really is?
  2. Why don't you do an internet search for yourself and find out? try looking here https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-57001674 or here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thamanat_Prompow maybe here https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/thai-cabinets-convicted-heroin-trafficker-also-bought-his-phd/ here are 3 links directly addressing the subject, I simply typed in "convicted heroin smuggler in Thai government" and these 3 links came up straight away Surely a simple internet search is not beyond your capability?
  3. IMHO that should apply to ALL politicians worldwide no matter what their position or their political party. Nor should it matter how many advisors they have or what age their advisors are.
  4. Do you think that politicians worldwide should stay as politicians until they die?
  5. I agree. There ought to be a mandatory retirement age of 65 for ALL politicians world wide and that should include reaching the age limit in the current political term. If you chose to stand you MUST retire on your 65th birthday and foot the entire bill for the by election for ALL the people standing to replace you, including the government costs, from your own personal funds
  6. For exactly the same reason that the Trump supporters on here do the same, every time president Biden makes any small mistake. By the time I made my comment he had already seen a doctor.
  7. That might be considered a cruel and unusual punishment. OTOH he does seem to eat a lot of junk food.
  8. If as you say that you know about it, then you are contradicting yourself when you say that nobody knows about it Either nobody knows about it, or many other people as well as you know about it, in which case it isn't a secret.
  9. quote "Russia has a tech industry that nobody knows about". If Russia has a tech industry that nobody knows about, how do YOU know about it, when according to you, nobody knows about it?
  10. The first blackout was scary. I was sitting up at the kitchen about 25 metres from the house one lunchtime, and my wife was in the big village 6 km away. The next thing I remember I was in hospital in Kamphaeng Phet having gone via thee local hospital 13 km away. It seems that the emergency rook took one look at me and shipped me off there. I had no real idea of what happened, where I was, what the time, day or month was, how I got there or anything. From what I pieced together from my wife the postman called and found me unconscious on the floor, couldn't find my wife so called the neighbour who took one look and called the ambulance who took me away. The neighbour told my wife when she came back and she eventually tracked me down 65 km away in hospital in KPP. I have no memory of the emergency room at all and only a vague memory of how long I was in hospital, somewhere between 3 and 5 days I think. It is still a blank area to me. I think it was due to low blood pressure and I probably stood up too quickly and fell over. I had no history of it happening before. You may need a time machine. I believe that Dr Who has one. Croesus Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Croesus croesus from en.wikipedia.org Croesus was the king of Lydia, who reigned from 585 BC until his defeat by the Persian king Cyrus the Great in 547 or 546 BC. According to Herodotus ... Lydian: ????????????????????????????????; (Krowiśaś) Reign: c. 585 – c. 546 BC Father: Alyattes of Lydia Born: 7th/6th century BCE; Lydia Kingdom
  11. 37 for the IO at Kamphaeng Phet and another 37 for the IO regional office #5 at Chiang Mai for the marriage extension. I have no idea why Chiang Mai needs a copy but if it keeps them happy and quiet, it is not a problem once a year,
  12. If you have spent time in hospital in Thailand you have to pay in cash. I have had 2 blackouts this year and spent time in hospital which took a pile of money that I had not planned for. Not every expat in Thailand is as rich as Croesus. Croesus' legendary wealth leads to the expression 'rich as Croesus' and according to Herodotus, Croesus was the first monarch to mint gold and silver coins. Explore the evidence for this from the Hestia texts and other sources
  13. I have no idea, but according to Wise the monet "should be in the BBK around 10am on Monday and clear by 2 pm. The transfer has been done and I am just waiting on Monday afternoon and BBK. https://www.gov.uk/bank-holidays Rest of the year. 2023 Date Day of the week Bank holiday 28 August Monday Summer bank holiday 25 December Monday Christmas Day 26 December Tuesday Boxing Day
  14. At 79 I normally take a nap in the afternoons knowing that the state pension will not arrive at Wise UK until after BBK banking hours. so I can take my time transferring it, knowing that it won't be available until just after 2 pm on Monday afternoons. I use BBK as my marriage extension is based on income, and that every transfer shows up as an FTT in my bankbook for the IO at Kamphaeng Phet. I could go to my KBank joint account directly but that would mean ringing the call centre every time to get a confirmation email, and to be honest it would become a PITA. Add the fact that it does not show up as an FTT in the bankbook and that then becomes another pile of paper (twice, once for KPP and once for CM IO). As it is I print out 37 sheets (twice) every year.
  15. But only if the bank in Thailand is open during Thai banking hours.
  16. It is a Wise transfer from the UK to my BBK account in Kamphaeng Phet. From there I transfer it to my local KBank joint account using internet banking on my pc, and from there to my son's bank account. Wise have done their bit, and it should be in my BBK account on Monday afternoon about 2 pm. I used to use Swift but found it cumbersome, slower and more expensive than Wise so I went over to Wise in 2018. The weekend problem is due to my state pension arriving at Wise on a Friday afternoon too late to transfer to Thailand.
  17. Why is that? Because you use Fox as a news source? You do realise that President Biden came back and signed the order, or had that escaped your notice in your efforts to throw mud, hoping that something will stick, and grasping at any straw that you can find?
  18. quote from the link "Fox News took notice of the moment, with conservative media figure Alex Lorusso sharing a clip to Twitter on Friday afternoon. In the clip, the president can be seen standing with the audience before announcing: "I'm coming back to shake your hand, but I forgot I didn't sign the order! All that talk and no action." Biden then returned to a desk to sign the order during what was his first trip to Maine as president. He won the state in the 2020 presidential election. So he actually DID sign the order. A confusing and inaccurate headline, and then I saw that it was by "Fox News" More daily rubbish by the Fox Entertainment channel.
  19. Who said the RTP don't have a sense of humour?
  20. I hope not, as I will be transferring some money to my son for his uni living costs in Chiang Rai. If the bank transfer does not go through on Monday, neither of us have any idea when he will get the money.
  21. It is easy to understand. What is not so easy to understand is your use of the term "WE". You can speak for yourself as I can. However you do NOT speak for me or perhaps many others, simply by using the term "WE". quote from your post, " Is that really so difficult to understand"?
  22. How strange that you say that. He won his first election in a free vote by all Thai voters, served as PM for 4 years, the first civilian PM to do so. He stood for election a second time and his party won an overall majority and the ONLY way he was removed was by yet another military coup. In all the military coups since 1932, not even 1 general has received as much as a slap on the wrist. Yet he won 2 successive free elections, yet not 1 general has ever stood in an election. They prefer to steal the entire country at the point of a gun and with tanks backing them up. The generals first act is to tear up the constitution and write a new one in their favour, and their second act is to give themselves an amnesty for all past, present and future acts. Something That Thaksin and the few civilian governments NEVER did.
  23. OK. It was just a thought.
