There is nothing and nobody to stop him, other than yet another military coup, if he gets into power and then decides to dump the PPP. Which takes me back to the snakes again. At least with Thaksin and the PTP, they were fairly predictable whether you liked them or not.

And who elected him? AFAIK there has been NO general election. The Privy Council is only an advisory body to the King. AFAIR neither the EC nor the CC has the power to elect a government. so how come Anutin has been "elected" as the PM? Now if there IS a general election the political party which wins the most seats at the election gets the first chance to elect a government. If they cannot form a government on their own or in a coalition within a certain period, it then falls to the party with the next highest number of seats etc. The only other choice is an unelected and unopposed military coup. Anutin and the BJP are IMO only slightly better than a military coup, and then ONLY after a general election is held. The PPP may regret what they have done, but it will be too late by then.

And what will Trump do? Stamp his feet? Have a hissy fit? Throw his toys out of the pram?

I suppose that would depend on what files are released and are unredacted. If you believe the US government there are no files, but there may be. If there are Epstein no files then why were 33,000 pages released for public scrutiny? If there are NO Epstein files why is Trump still trying to supress them? If Trump is not mentioned in the files, why is he so concerned about them? If I were Epstein I don't think that I would have left only 1 set of files. I would have at least 10 sets hidden in completely different places. I would also have ensured to my best efforts that ALL the participants would stick around, just in case something happened to me, And it DID happen to Epstein.

The best thing that Starmer could do is to sack her and try to find someone else who id honest and squeaky clean to replace her. Perhaps it is not Immigration as a whole entity but just some offices. I have used the office in Mae Sot originally, then the office in Nakhon Sawan for several years when it opened (they were very good), then for the last few years I have used Kamphaeng Phet when it opened, I have chased the KPP office around KPP as it moved 4 times. It now seems to have a permanent home on the route 1 north of the city. The office is very good and very helpful but the only small problem is the disabled parking slot. Every other parking slot has a cover from the rain and sun except that one. Other than that it is a great immigration office.

Sure. for Long Term Thailand Stay it gets to my account on the next banking day at around 2pm as it has done for the last 5 or 6 years with only one problem in the first year, which was easily sorted out by a phone call. It seems yo me that the problem happens when the banking app is used on the smartphone, but it rarely, if ever, happens on the pc. I use internet banking as the nearest Bangkok Bank is 65km away. Also I get an OTP SMS on my mobile to confirm the action before it happens.
