  1. I don't need luck in battles. At 80 I am too old to fight or even tilt at windmills. IMHO the PP need to take a good look at all its policies and its leadership, keep the best bits, dump the rest, build up its war chest and start again.
  2. And how many Thais have you personally interviewed to reach that conclusion? If the PP voters were so great why did they not win more or even all the seats at the recent PAO election. Bear in mind that they have had over a year since the last general election to regroup, regather and reform since that time. Not only did the PTP win 17 seats, the BJT won 12. yet the PP could only win one seat.
  3. Thank you for that link Eric, but sadly I feel it will make no difference in the end. Those that support Israel and the USA will never change. They will always believe that ALL Palestinians are simply Hamas supporters, and are nothing but untermensch that have to be completely exterminated by the most moral army (Netanyahu's words and not mine) in the world. They don't seem to have the sense to understand that for every Palestinian man, woman, boy, girl or baby they indiscriminately kill another will take their place, as a so called "terrorist" now or as they grow up in the future, assuming that they survive.
  4. Under Trump and Netanyahu it will NOT be voluntary. What will happen if the Palestinians refuse to go? Will they be forced to go? How do you force 2 million people to leave the country where they and their ancestors have lived all their lives? Which countries will take them in and pay for them for generations? Neither the USA nor Israel could afford to do that.
  5. He won't accept that as the information does not come from official Israeli sources, but from the Hamas sources who are actually working on the ground in the aftermath of the Israeli strikes, taking the dead and wounded to the few remaining working hospital, which the Israelis bomb and shell also. There are none so blind as those who refuse to see what is happening on a daily basis. Thank you for a good intelligent link to read.
  6. Being kicked out of office after yet another illegal military coup, (that nobody got punished for), being charged by a court under military control. Perhaps it should be you that needs to wake up.
  7. Why should the Palestinians HAVE to give up the land where they have lived for centuries. The land does NOT belong to the USA, or much as they want to believe it, it does NOT belong to Israel either. A better plan would be to move al the people of Israel to the USA, where I am sure that they will live a better life and save money on an army that they would not need. After all. Trump will keep them safe from those nasty Palestinians, who are fighting to keep their own lands from being overrun by the far worse nasty Israelis.
  8. Because the rest of the world is not as stupid as you.
  9. It is nothing to do with Rubio, Trump or any other US entity. They only sublease part of Diego Garcia, but like Gaza and many other countries , including Greenland, that US forces are based in, the USA does NOT own it. So IMHO, Rubio, Trump et al, can keep their noses out of other countries interests. They don't make the rules and if they really don't like it, then break the sub lease and clear out. The more you give in to bullies, the more that they will demand. If you stand up to them, they will find a weaker victim to pick on. Perhaps the UK should claim for reparations, plus interest, for being kicked out of their bases in the USA, back in the 1800s.
  10. It seems to me that it is you who do not understand. You are the one taking it out of context. It IS about the PAO election as a whole, or why mention it at all. The PP won ONLY one seat on the entire PAO election and were defeated everywhere else by ALL the other political parties. which make their one win somewhat of a consolation prize. If there had not been a PAO election, they would not even have got a mention. Of course you failed to mention that the PTP party actually won 18 seats and lost only one to the PP, who actually lost every other seat that they contested. Compared with the results of the general election, it is a dismal showing. Copied from the Bangkok post on 2 February 2025. The ruling Pheu Thai Party won presidential seats in 18 provincial administrative organisations (PAO), followed by 12 seats for its coalition partner Bhumjaithai. The main opposition party, the People’s Party, won only one in Sunday’s PAO election. 11. I would rather buy Thai made stuff rather than Chinese, but I cannot always find what I am looking for in Thai made stuff. I cannot remember the last time I bought anything from the USA, so Trump's tariffs have no effect on me.
  12. There is little we agree on. I make my posts on what I feel and I try not to change my opinions. My opinion on Trump and his policies has not changed over the years. I disliked him from the start many years ago and did not trust him then. However since the last election, when he was voted in by more electors that the Democrats I have accepted that. However IMHO, the US electorate perhaps did not realise what they will be getting, and they along with the rest of the world, may sadly regret that decision over the next 4 years.
  13. Perhaps the thief could have sold his motorbike to pay off his debt. And, NO, he wasn't FORCED to borrow money from loan sharks.
  14. One elected position out of 47 contested is a significant victory? 2.12765% is significant? They won a much bigger % at the national election, and still couldn't form the coalition government.
  15. Gaza does NOT belong to Trump or to the USA, nor even, though they don't believe it, does it belong to Israel. It belongs to the Palestinian people ONLY. They are the ones who should decide its fate, and no other country. Imagine if the native Americans decided that the USA belonged to them and to them only, and all the later immigrants must go back to their own countries. Do you think that Trump would give in to that?
  16. If most Thai people voted for Pita and the peoples party, why did they not win an overall majority at the last general election? Why did they only end up with seat at the PAO elections yesterday? Perhaps most of the Thai people didn't vote for Pita and the PP after all, as you claim.
  17. How odd. I have a UK passport but my address is in Thailand since 2001. I have had no problems with Wise in the last 5 years when transferring money from the UK to Thailand. Snipped from the OP. Again I was denied and called the WISE people who told me that I now need a physical address in the USA and that it cannot be a “mailbox”. I asked about who was behind this regulation and they sent me an email that the “Financial Crime Enforcement Network (FCEN) was behind this new requirement. My concern as a US Citizen is the “whats next” question? Are they working on cancellation of overseas living or retirement? Will they cancel my Citizenship and therefore my Social Security because I don’t own a home in the US anymore? Quite disturbing Perhaps the problem is in the USA under the "new" regime, and not with Wise at all, but with the “Financial Crime Enforcement Network (FCEN).
  18. Please tell the entire world what comments ex President Biden made about the incident, I am sure that the world is as eager to hear your words as I am. Trump only occupies a miniscule amount of my world. Judging by the number of your posts on this thread alone. he seems to occupy ALL of your world.
  19. Yes it IS Trump's fault. If he said nothing, then the media would have nothing to say about him. I can remember this old saying, The full saying is, "It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt," which is often attributed to Abraham Lincoln, meaning that sometimes it's better to stay silent even if it makes you seem uninformed rather than speak and potentially reveal a lack of knowledge.
  20. And what song did you mention? There are at least 3 versions of the song plus another going back to 1844. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Dandy_(song) "Jim Dandy" (sometimes known as "Jim Dandy to the Rescue") is a song written by Lincoln Chase, and was first recorded by American R&B singer LaVern Baker on December 21, 1955.[1] It reached the top of the R&B chart[2] and #17 on the pop charts in the United States. The song is about a man (Jim Dandy) who rescues women from improbable or impossible predicaments.[2] It proved popular enough that Chase wrote a second song for Baker entitled "Jim Dandy Got Married."[2] The American English term jim-dandy for an outstanding person or thing predates the song; first attested in 1844, it may itself come from the title of an old song, "Dandy Jim of Caroline". Other recorded versions Ann-Margret recorded a version on her 1962 album The Vivacious One.[11] The song is the B-side to James Reyne's 1989 single, "One More River".[12] https://www.collinsdictionary.com/us/dictionary/english/jim-dandy#:~:text=Definition of 'jim-dandy'&text=1.,excellent%3B very pleasing jim-dandy (ˈdʒɪmˈdændi) US, Informal, Obsolete noun 1. an excellent or very pleasing person or thing adjective 2. excellent; very pleasing Webster’s New World College Dictionary, 4th Edition. 21. SOP for Trump. After all he lied over 30,000 times when he was in charge the last time. Why would he change now? Leopards don't change their spots in their lifetime.
