81 year old Thai man loses 22 million baht to police impersonator

Proof? Or is that beyond your very limited thinking capability? Any idiot can throw wild and unsubstantiated allegations around. Only smart people can back them up. -
Pit Bull Mixed-Breed Dog Attacks, Seriously Injures Five-Year-Old Girl
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Because YOU say it, therefore it must be true, even though many other people disagree with you, or not. I say that you are talking BS, therefore that must be true also, simply because I said so, or not. -
IDF Rescue Four Israeli Hostages in Central Gaza Raid
billd766 replied to Social Media's topic in The War in Israel
The war against the Palestinians has been going on since 1948, long before Hamas ever existed. I suspect that you need to do some research on the history of Israel, its neighbours and the Palestinians. Of course, the most moral army in the world (Israel's own words) would never attack another country to to kill, injure innocent men women and children, would they? Nor would they blockade the land sea and air of Gaza, cut off electricity, water, food, medical supplies, destroy Gaza's infrastructure, starve or dehydrate hundreds of thousand of people, simply because they are the most moral army in the world. (Israel's own words). But they ARE doing this every single day. However they do this simply because they can, and the one country in the world that CAN stop them, the USA. won't for political reasons in the USA. -
I suspect that any opinions coming from Russia will probably be heavily laced with propaganda, and not really reliable. Of course you could have done an internet search as I have just done and come up with the same or similar results. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrainian_Air_Force Aircraft As of December 2023, the amount of aircraft that are still in service, especially fighter aircraft, is uncertain. Ukraine had 43 MiG-29s, 12 Su-24s, 17 Su-25s, and 26 Su-27s in active service in 2021 according to data from Flight Global.[2] In February 2022, Ukraine had around 50 MiG-29S, MiG-29MU1, and MiG-29MU2 in service and a couple dozen of Su-27s in service including Su-27S, Su-27P, Su-27UB, Su-27PU, Su-27S1M, Su-27P1M, Su-27UBM1, and Su-27PU1M variants according to Forbes. Since then, Poland and Slovakia donated 27 MiG-29G and MiG-29AS in 2023, while Ukraine has been able to restore some grounded Su-27s back to service.[67] All Russian built aircraft. https://military-history.fandom.com/wiki/Ukrainian_Air_Force There is more information in the link but you will need to scroll a fair way down to find it. Neither link includes the latest equipment information such as the number of F 16s or any other aircraft donated recently.

And this is only the first group of pilots to be trained, as are the first group of ground crew. There are more in the pipeline being trained. It is not that easy to be cross trained and it takes a little longer that a couple of weekends to do. After that, more experience is gained on a daily and weekly basis.

BKK Bank Anti American
billd766 replied to nitehawk42's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
That is OK IF you have a branch of BKK fairly close. My nearest branch is 65km away in Kamphaeng Phet. There is another branch slightly north though still in the city on the frontage road of the route 1. Both branches are about an hours drive away. Like you, I do not use my phone for any banking. -

3,900 Thai community radio stations to cease under new digital scheme

I wonder how many of those 3,900 radio station that will have to be closed are owned by the military, who IMHO should NOT OWN any radio or TV stations nor any media sources. -
BKK Bank Anti American
billd766 replied to nitehawk42's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
AFAIR most Thai banks will issue a credit card. The drawback for farangs is that the card is tied to a bank account in the card holders name. If you want, for example, 1 million baht credit on your card, then you need to deposit 1 million baht into that account as surety. IIRC the bank will pay the credit charges, or the minimum balance. The account cannot be closed for 3 months, should you return the credit card, and again IIRC if attempt to go past your limit the bank will not extend your credit limit and will disallow any further transactions. Essentially, unlike western credit cards, you are using your own money to fund it, and you have already prepaid to the limit of your credit card. Again IIRC a credit card is an unsecured loan. In Thailand however, it is a secured loan against the money you have already paid. I may well be wrong as I got rid of all my credit cards years ago. -
Thailand And 16 Other Countries Call For Release Of All Hostages In Gaza
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yet Israel has been murdering Palestinians and stealing their land since Israel was formed. Do you have any idea what genocide really means? https://www.google.co.uk/search?sca_esv=4ce04de13f7e18f6&sca_upv=1&sxsrf=ADLYWIKNlrezNG7vtkXfy2RZSzMKrJdOjQ:1717774633129&q=genocide&si=ACC90nwZKElgOcNXBU934ENhMNgq8CwYfVJEvxAg4mpo5eIbiU1251R6kBBggkBHM1DdlTnWuvkzN5RS9K9P93X5GHAXWICtfvSiIEvArNLN3h_jd0fCxNI%3D&expnd=1&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjCgb-W6cmGAxX-3jgGHap8BDcQ2v4IegQIDxBA&biw=873&bih=348&dpr=2.2 noun noun: genocide; plural noun: genocides the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group. "a campaign of genocide" Similar: racial killing massacre wholesale slaughter mass slaughter That IS what Netanyahu, his murderous Zionist "war cabinet" and the IDF are doing in Gaza and the West Bank, and will keep on doing as long as he and his coalition parties are in power. -
Luxury Porsche worth over 10 million baht catches fire in Bangkok
billd766 replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
It has been many decades since I was taught basic firefighting techniques. Nowadays with more and more EVs coming out I thought it was time for some revision. I had/have thought of buying an electric trike in the future. I did an internet search for EV extinguishant and came up with these. https://www.i2comply.com/health-safety/best-fire-extinguisher-for-electrical-fires/#:~:text=The most common fire extinguisher, can use on electrical fires. The most common fire extinguisher types for electrical fires are Carbon Dioxide or Dry Powder. These will both starve a fire of oxygen without giving you an electric shock. There are also two newer extinguishers – Water Mist and Lith-Ex – which you can use on electrical fires. Don’t confuse water mist with the traditional water fire extinguisher – which would be very dangerous to use on an electrical fire! https://www.viking-life.com/articles/firefighting-protection-against-electric-car-fires/#:~:text=Rosenbauer Battery Extinguisher System (BEST) Full description The new Rosenbauer extinguishing system for high-voltage batteries in electrically powered cars is a system for safe, efficient and rapid extinguishing in batteries based on lithium-ion technology. This enables direct cooling of battery modules or the battery cells inside the modules and thus fast stopping of the chemical reaction in the cells and the consequent heating. The system consists of three main components: an extinguishing unit and a control panel, interconnected with hoses. The extinguishing unit is placed under the battery and, if necessary, fastened to the car with a jack or in another suitable position. The preferred position is on the underside of the car. The control panel controls the extinguishing unit’s extinguishing spear, which penetrates the battery housing at a safe distance. There is more information in each link. I can see that both have their advantages. The first will probably easier to obtain in Thailand for use at home, and the second would better for dedicated fire crews. TBH I don't think that enough attention was given in the beginning to the serious problem of EV fires, which are small in number now, but will grow as more EVs appear on the roads in the future. -
I am using Chrome on my pc and for the last 3 days the fast up button has now moved again and neatly covers the notification button. Now I can only see notifications if there is a number in the fast up button box. No matter how many notifications I have as soon as I read any one of them, then return to notifications the fast up button has covered it and I can no longer read ANY notification, Can this be fixed by moving the fast up button to somewhere else, or delete it completely, pretty please?

What a pity that you did not post a link stating that climate change politicians in the WEF, WHO, UN paid the most to the scientists to get the figures they wanted. From what I can see it is only your word against theirs. The next question is who would I believe? You and a conspiracy theory, or a large number of scientists from different countries who have a fair idea what they are talking about.

That would equally apply to Netanyahu, his criminal Zionist war cabinet and all the generals of the IDF. I have not seen anywhere that the Palestinians have ever invaded Israel, stolen Israeli houses and land and formed illegal settlements. However I do see that happen every day and have done for many years, especially now in Gaza. South Africa is one country that has taken Israel to the International courts in the Hague and have won their case. Israel will of course ignore that ruling as they have ignored all the others.

Good for you. I suspect that like me, the spirit is willing, though the flesh can't keep up as for me there are not enough hours in the day to keep up with all the things I would like to do. -
Pregnant Husky Scalded with Hot Water by Owner, Sparks Outrage
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Only slightly off the topic. Animal cruelty does not just happen in Thailand. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp33z8z12kyo A woman who kept 191 dogs in "pitiful" conditions in Devon has been jailed. Diana Curtis, 66, of Peters Marland, had kept the dogs in crates and cages in a remote field near Chittlehamholt and in kennels near Chulmleigh Cross, Exeter Crown Court heard. Curtis had previously pleaded guilty to seven counts of causing unnecessary suffering to animals. She was jailed for 25 months and handed a lifetime ban from owning animals. There is more information in the link. -
Teen killed by speeding BMW in Phuket hit-and-run tragedy

Nowhere as crazy as the stupid pillock driving the BMW, who ran away from the scene and didn't even bother to see how the boy was, or even if he could do anything. Cowardly little bar steward. -

The previous woman owner should be tie up in a toilet and boiling water poured over her and the whole thing videoed. I wonder if she would find a kind loving home after that, especially if it came with a note and a copy of both videos, -

Thank you. The problem I have is that when it is a reasonable post the morons cam on and screw it up with their little posts all pretending to be serious.
