  1. I was only pointing out that she isn't actually the way the poster I responded to thinks she is. Far as Greta and her parents are concerned I have as much interest in them personally as the birds in the sky- they exist, but nothing to spend time on, unless they do a dive bomb on my head, or Greta does another stunt.
  2. If it comes down to supporting Turkey, a NATO member, which IMO wants to destroy the Kurds, or the Kurds, who do you think he will support? While the US didn't exist during the crusades, the original Euro immigrants came from crusader countries and I believe Trumps origins are German, and Germany or whatever that region was called back then certainly were in the crusades. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crusade_of_1197 The Crusade of 1197, also known as the Crusade of Henry VI (German: Kreuzzug Heinrichs VI.) or the German Crusade (Deutscher Kreuzzug), was a crusade launched by the Hohenstaufen emperor Henry VI in response to the aborted attempt of his father, Emperor Frederick I, during the Third Crusade in 1189–90. Thus the military campaign is also known as the "Emperor's Crusade" (echoing the name "Kings' Crusade" given to the Third Crusade).[2]
  3. It always astounds me that people, even on here, still think Obama was a great president. I guess his "good old boy" persona actually fooled some. He did pretty well financially for someone that was in public service most ( ?all ) of his post university life.
  4. Nothing to do with Islam, and perhaps you should consider that having a different opinion to yourself is acceptable except to those that support dictatorship.
  5. Perhaps she realised there is a bigger catastrophe taking place than in the environment.
  6. Actually you are wrong on that. I recently saw an interview with her in which she came across as reasonably articulate and self effacing. Certainly has a sense of humour. Perhaps the problem in the past was that she was being forced into everything by bad parents. I didn't expect to agree with her on anything, but seems there is.
  7. Excellent 2 posts. IMO the only thing certain is that "they" have not learned "lessons". Too much profit in wars, preferably far from the US, and not resulting in US boys returning home in body bags. Also, while everyone's attention is diverted to the latest conflict overseas who knows what "they" are getting up to at home?
  8. Better for whom? Certainly not for the prisoners in Assad's torture prisons. Sadly, it does seem that Syria is in for internal conflict between the opposing factions. The opposition was united only in wishing to see Assad gone. IMO, a neighbouring country will be stirring the pot as the last thing they want is a united country, which will turn it's attention to illegally occupied Syrian land.
  9. For sure it's going to be a problem with Turkey attacking the Kurds.
  10. and I'll keep being happy that Trump won. The voters didn't care about it. Only butt hurt anti Trumpers do care, not that it makes any difference to the fact that Trump won.
  11. They seem to forget that if they do something and get away with it, that the GOP can then do the same thing to them. Probably why the move to remove the filibuster did not succeed.
  12. That'll make a change from shooting at their bases and vehicles as they were doing in Lebanon. https://news.un.org/en/story/2024/10/1155801 ‘Yet another’ Israeli strike on peacekeepers’ position in southern Lebanon
  13. Nah. The rot set in during Vietnam war. That evil war rent the soul of the US and the 1% jumped in, occupied the power spots and have been ruining the US ever since, IMO. Empires don't end suddenly. The end comes slow and quiet like a thief in the night.
  14. Sounds like the evil western non prostitute that was able to use me for a few years till I left her.
  15. After divorce number 2 did you not consider that you were chasing the wrong sort of women?
  16. IMO one can be born into poverty but those with ambition and drive can break out of it. Being a sheeple is not conducive to bettering one's situation.
  17. I had sex in the west, with a "good" not prostitute women. Basically missionary sex, but I didn't experience SEX till I landed in Thailand. To use an example sex in the west was an acorn, and sex in Thailand is the entire Oak tree in all it's magnificence. The mere idea of sex as it is in LOS would make my western ex's head explode.
  18. If you are so in love with oppressive western fear based culture, why are you not living in a western country? This discussion isn't just about wearing helmets, it's about the entire soul of the nation. I don't want Thailand to become absorbed by the dark side, that is the west.
  19. Sooooo, you WANT Thailand to become a western clone culture with fear driven policies on everything- wear a seat belt or get fined, drive 1 km/ hr over the speed limit and get fined/ wear a helmet or get fined etc etc etc. It's not like the laws of fear stop people beating toddlers to death though. Given the choice of living in LOS as is or living in a regulation obsessed western <deleted> hole where the sheeple live safer but way more miserable lives, and I'll take LOS any time.
  20. Parents are responsible for their children. You should go speak to the parents about it- just make sure you have good medical insurance.
  21. That's my point. The virus of wokeism ( previously called PC ) has been infecting western culture for a long time.
  22. I did read your rant. Seems that you think Thailand should be for non Russian western people only. Their money is as good as yours and if the Thais don't like it then it's up to them to do something about it. However I doubt they care about some guy posting on AN, as they count their increased profits.
  23. Trump and every crusader nation should keep their sticky beaks out of Syria, as they'll just make it worse. I doubt the west will be able to resist the temptation to interfere though. Cue the next western war in the M E that will cause untold death and destruction followed by an ignominious retreat after years of wasted treasure and lives. I suspect that in a year or so, if it goes fundamentalist, we will wish that Assad had remained in charge. He may be a very bad man, but under him Syria wasn't a force attacking western interests. Same as when Iranian fundamentalists overthrew the Shah.
  24. Going to be interesting to see what he does now Assad is gone.
