  1. Thanks for the correction, Most wouldn't respond. Vance is on the Dems hit list. Expect most comments about him to be propaganda.
  2. They do like to deflect. Probably because they have nothing to say on the topic.
  3. Trump beating her will be so fitting. I can't believe that any thinking person supports someone so incompetent that they couldn't even sort the border. She couldn't even win a state primary.
  4. "Virtual roll call" . Will it be a virtual convention then, followed by a virtual election? Even Lee Child couldn't make up a story better than this one. Chapter 1- Harris is chosen as VP before taking her place next election as first "black" female POTUS ( I'm assuming his handlers knew even then he wasn't going to make it to November 2024 ), despite failing to win any state primaries. Chapter 2- Kamala is given the job as "border tsar" to show how great she is. Unfortunately she is a complete failure. Chapter 3- to prepare for Joe's resignation from the race Joe is put up in a much earlier than usual debate with Trump where he is exposed as being out to dinner. Chapter 4- Joe gets "covid" and has to isolate, AFTER an interview in which he says he'll drop out if he has a "medical condition". Chapter 5- Joe recovers in record time and makes a speech where he drops out and anoints the "first black woman in SCOTUS" as his successor. Chapter 6- still being written.
  5. Ironic that! I believe the French haven't won a war since Waterloo, so back bone isn't enough on it's own, apparently. Not that I think fat British boys would do much better these days.
  6. It's worked since the 1950s, so they obviously think it's got a few more miles to go before the wheels fall off.
  7. There are enough war enthusiasts on here to form a company for Ukraine. However, I'm pretty sure they'd rather comment on here in the safety of their basement, than from a front line trench.
  8. I have a problem believing that. It just doesn't fit with any experience I had with Thais. My opinion is more along the lines that they got drunk and smashed a lot of things up. Perhaps granny thought that was too embarrassing to admit and made a story up. When my BIL got drunk he threw a lot of furniture around. Why I stayed as far away from him as possible.
  9. Such was the circus in congress that I'd not have been surprised to see the entire parade of Ringling's circus passing through followed by cohorts of marching girls and a 100 piece brass band. Mere dolphins would have been insignificant. BTW, I'll bet not many get the "thanks for the fish" reference, though it's entirely appropriate given if the war criminal gets his way it likely that MAD is not too long coming after.
  10. As I am unable to lurk in all the rooms in congress, I must admit that any opinion would be a guess, so I'll pass on that.
  11. LOL. Look at who set up the UN and why, and you will understand why the UN is not fit for purpose. IMO the biggest joke about the UN is that people still think it's important for "world peace" LOL.
  12. Unfortunate comparison. Churchill was unable to "finish the job" without American troops. I have no doubt netanyahu wants American troops fighting Iran, Syria, Iraq etc. Sadly, I think he may get his wish. Too many warmongers furiously applauding the war criminal in congress.
  13. Have you considered that like myself he has an issue with dropping great big bombs on women and children and killing thousands of them, cutting off aid, and destroying as much as possible of the Gaza infrastructure? Nothing antisemitic in opposing actions regarded as war crimes. Being Jewish does not give anyone that does so a pass, and as the war crimes are being committed by the israelis, who else would we criticize? The old "if you are against israel you are anti semitic" mantra doesn't work any more.
  14. Soooo, AFTER israel's nakba then. Like for like.
  15. and perhaps they have a very good understanding of it and their wish is that all long stay farangs depart for good. Just deporting all legal long stayers would not be looked on favourably by other governments, but if they go home voluntarily that's OK.
  16. Soooo, not a sure thing then? Strikes me that the Dems have not a single positive thing to offer as to why anyone should vote FOR them, as opposed to AGAINST Trump. Hate only gets them so far. If they don't have anything positive to offer, why would voters bother to get out of bed to stand in line? Do none remember Jack Kennedy and his vision of a shining city on a hill, his ambition for a better world, his challenge of a man on the moon? Seems to me that all American politics offer now is war and more war, dispute on dispute, strife on strife. They are apparently even out pepper spraying non violent demonstrators calling for peace. Truly sad days in this brave new world of ours.
  17. That's only to be expected. They were facing disaster after the debate, so someone that can actually read off a teleprompter has to be a better chance. Give it 3 months and see if the bounce has gone as reality sinks in. She didn't fail to gain a primary win for no reason.
  18. Of course, and he should be. He can hardly mock her for having cottage cheese where brain used to be. I'm confident he can repeat the HRC result though. I'll be so lovin' it if Harris loses. If anything, I dislike her more than I disliked Biden.
  19. and if there was an actual external threat to the EU I have no doubt he'd be on board. Their problem is that there isn't.
  20. He must be looking forward to the day he can say" I told you so"! It can't be too far off. Going to be loads of red faces on the day Zelensky offers to negotiate.
  21. Someone that imagines he is important.
