Israel is at War - General discussion (pt3)
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in The War in Israel
After withdrawing from Jabalia refugee camp, it has been found that israeli forces have destroyed it. Israel continues to break every international law and America colludes to protect them. America should be laughed out of the room next time they criticize any country for breaking international law. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/liveblog/2024/5/30/israels-war-on-gaza-live-no-safe-shelter-as-dozens-killed-in-rafah?update=2936963 Israel’s war on Gaza updates: Jabalia reduced to rubble after incursion -
You owe me for the time I spent watching that. Very dated, somewhat boring and very 1950s movie with not much to say and taking a long time to say it. I defo won't be reading the book. Only good thing in the movie IMO was Peck. Excellent as always. No idea why you would reference Boo in an earlier post.

Trump Vows to Crush Pro-Palestinian Protests if Re-Elected
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Does he think the conflict will still be going on next January? If it is I doubt that a few pro Palestinian, will still be few. Actually, I reckon the IDF will run out of Palestinians to bomb "by accident" by then. Either way, he isn't going to be able to do anything till then. -
Pattaya Seeks to Transform Image, Promoting Diverse Tourism
thaibeachlovers replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Shopping malls- sure that's going to bring them in by the millions Bkk has malls too and a lot more besides, like an airport. Pattaya has a dirty beach, worse traffic than Bkk ( Bangkok has pedestrian overbriges so people can cross without having to run for their lives ) and golf. It's always been popular with golfers, but that's about it. I'll bet they are counting on a casino to make them rich. However, perhaps they can turn the disasters into tourist attractions. Bali Hi could become famous for it's lack of public toilets, the monstrous eyesore not far away could have haunted house type tours, the beach for the magical vanishing sand. The possibilities are endless. -
A Unique Adventure: Camping in Antarctica
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Oh dear, I don't know whether to laugh or cry at that. I know that the luvvies have almost taken over the western world, but seriously, not allowed a meal because it might spoil the billion tons of ice under their tents, or something like that. I don't even understand the logic of it. Given I actually lived and worked down there, I have a somewhat different point of view, and it is that it's rather difficult to spoil a pristine Antarctic environment ( unless driving an oil tanker into an iceberg ). It's actually quite large, and the number of humans infinitesimal. Just as well then, that the trip the author went on did not stop at McMurdo, a small town with loads of polluting vehicles and people. Many people will journey into the wilderness ( scientists and such like ),and I doubt they are fasting or bringing all their poop back in a little bag. I do know that everyone I worked with down there would be somewhat amazed that tourists are not even allowed to eat on the ice. Seems that the luvvies won't allow any human poop ( not much they can do about all those naughty penguins pooping all over the place though- perhaps penguin poo is "different" to human poo ) while allowing a vessel burning dirty fossil fuel to pollute the pristine environment, and the thousands of aircraft that go down to Antarctica every summer. LOL. Dig a hole, put the anchor in it and fill the hole in again. Skill required? Having had a little chuckle at the excesses of luvvies, I will agree that it's an amazing experience. I did many trips into the wilderness ( and no, I did not bring a bag with my poop back ), and it really is a special place to visit. I'm quite glad that I didn't get to only have 5 days down there though, and I enjoyed being there for almost the entire time. I would not hesitate to recommend it as a place to work the summer, or even better a whole year. -
I once read a blog by a M to F trans person. It wasn't a smooth path by any means, and once there had some unexpected problems. One of the unexpected problems was the unwanted attention by males that wanted to date "her" because they thought "she" still had a penis. Anyway, seems big pharama is being rather naughty pursuing profits by selling the myth that if we just take some of their potions everything in our lives will be just peachy. "want your kids to never grow up? use some of these puberty blockers" " having a bit of pain? Oh dear have some of this highly addictive painkiller and you won't have to worry about a thing evermore" "you prefer to be the opposite gender? Just take these pills and everything will be just marvellous".

Economic Concerns Erode Biden’s Support Among Key Voter Groups
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Couldn't have said it better myself. The thing that boggles me is that some think he is better than the other geriatric trying for the crown. Two old men railing against each other. I support Trump over Biden but I didn't want him to be standing at all. -

Blaming the victims, LOL. In general, people don't believe statistics when the evidence is in front of their eyes. Stats can reflect anything depending on the one that put them out there. Some of us know the saying, by Twain "Lies, damned lies and statistics". What people are seeing is not what the weasles in back rooms are inventing to try and fool the public into voting for their man. -
Zelensky should have considered that going into a war without the home grown resources to continue it was not a good idea a couple years ago. Being 100% dependent on other countries coming up with a few billion spare cash lying around was never a runner, IMO. The west is broke from paying large to the undeserving and doesn't have any money for death anymore, or at least it shouldn't. It's time to make citizens lives better- isn't that why they were elected? Bunch of arrogant clowns that think they can do anything they like with taxpayer's money IMO.

Israel is at War - General discussion (pt3)
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in The War in Israel
Given that the so called "safe area" is probably packed with thousands of displaced persons with no room for more, it is hardly surprising that some have to stay outside the "zone". They probably had to move from another "safe" area because it was getting bombed. All of Rafah was supposed to be a safe zone. Going by their disgusting excuse, if I deliberately ran over anyone that was crossing the road other than on a pedestrian crossing, I'd be innocent of murder. -

Same reason as people stopped smiling everywhere. The world we live in is <deleted> and it's not going to get any better. My generation had it at it's best in the late 50s and early 60s,till Vietnam ruined it all, and it's gone, IMO for good. IMO we are doomed, but most don't want to admit it.
