Biden Admin to Announce Border Executive Action by Tuesday
thaibeachlovers replied to CharlieH's topic in World News
Not so long ago you were claiming that it was all under control- less illegals or more illegals being caught- I don't remember which- than under Trump. Now you seem to be reneging on your own claims and accepting that he has to do something ( even if 3 years too late ) because the situation is so bad. LOL -
Will we see Nuclear Armagedon before 2025?
thaibeachlovers replied to connda's topic in The War in Ukraine
They don't live in igloos in Antarctica and raw penguin would not be very nice. Want cooked penguin or seal, take a few thousand litres of fuel for a cooker along with everything needed to last the winter, like a building, medical supplies, etc. There is no source of fuel down there and it all has to be shipped or flown down. Oh, take some books too, and a lantern as it gets dark for months. -
Will we see Nuclear Armagedon before 2025?
thaibeachlovers replied to connda's topic in The War in Ukraine
While it is unlikely a deliberate nuclear war will happen, mistakes happen. Mistakes like escalating a war with a nuclear power. Never underestimate the desire of the military leadership to start a war, or of their hope to use all the toys in their toybox. Speaking from experience, I have no faith in military leadership doing the right thing. Let's remember why the Chinese became involved in the Korean war. -

Koh Samui Tourism Struggles Amid Infrastructure Challenges

Perhaps Thailand could stop turning the place into a garbage dump and building concrete excrescences if they want to make the place worth going to. Some people actually want a nice beach to stay at, but most have been ruined long ago. -
Koh Samui Tourism Struggles Amid Infrastructure Challenges

If that's the case then they should be increasing the fares to reduce the number of environment destroyers going there. What is the point of getting more tourists if they make the place a <deleted> hole? It's probably too late for Samui and Tao, but Phanang might be OK for a while as long as they don't build an airport there. -
Koh Samui Tourism Struggles Amid Infrastructure Challenges

The last thing the islands need are more tourists. They should be restricting them not encouraging more. Samui used to be wonderful, but this century became a <deleted> hole. Seems greed reigns supreme. -
Biden Admin to Announce Border Executive Action by Tuesday

Seems that posters with TDS forget that Trump was well on the way to sorting the problem when Biden cancelled the agreements with Mexico. -
Ukraine needs its instructors to be taught by NATO trainers to condense the standard two-month basic training into one month. Good grief, I didn't realise that it was that bad- I feel for the poor conscripts. When I did my basic training it was 3 months and that was just all arms, After that the infantry had more training before being posted to Vietnam.

I just read your link and it makes for very interesting reading. I don't know why Biden would be so consumed with hatred for Iran that he would make a deal with the devil, even committing American lives to protect Saudi ( IMO they know that despite having all the toys the US can provide, sans nuclear, Saudi would be a pushover for Iran- they did not cover themselves with glory during the Gulf war ). I suppose that the Great Game is being played out further afield now, but it's not looking good for the US having to support Saudi. Ask anyone that worked in Saudi if they support the royal family, LOL.

It's been made pretty clear that despite israel being entirely reliant on the US for it's very existence, israeli leaders are going to ignore Biden, despite him desperately needing a ceasefire for domestic political reasons. I guess that is because they know that whoever wins they will still cover for israel in the UN. I wonder if Biden feels so humiliated that he will actually do something to punish netanyahu? During a speech at the White House, Biden said Hamas had been degraded to a point where it could no longer carry out the type of attack seen on October 7 that launched the current war in Gaza. What Biden omits to mention, perhaps because he does not understand human psychology, is that without an end to the israeli oppression of Palestinians, the situation is only temporary. Some years in the future situations similar to October 7 will arise, and again and again. Does he not understand the rage that will engulf the Gazans once the bombing stops? Revenge will become their watchword.

I was bored out of my mind in Pattaya
thaibeachlovers replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
No one is keeping you in Pattaya. Pattaya is not typical of the rest of Thailand. That's like living in London for 10 years and then thinking all of Britain is a <deleted><deleted>.
