Russia executing own retreating soldiers, US says
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in The War in Ukraine
Are you lying or just making it up? Plenty of links if one looks. https://www.newsweek.com/ukraine-passes-law-shoot-deserters-304911 Ukraine Passes Law Allowing Military to Shoot Deserters Feb 06, 2015 at 12:53 PM EST https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-65792384 At least 90 Ukrainian draft dodgers and deserters are thought to have died trying to escape over the border into Romania -
I have often asked that question and no one has ever answer it, They simply move on to another issue, or comment on my choice of grammatical structure. I may not have responded to that specific question by you, but I have certainly said on this forum at some time that the Two State solution is dead unless the israelis withdraw entirely from the West Bank and illegally occupied East Jerusalem.

Strange that you should ignore the brutal israeli occupation of over 30 years while criticizing the Palestinians for not behaving in a more acceptable manner for you. If you are not hating all Palestinians it would behoove you to refrain from saying things like "Palestinians don't know the meaning of living in peace... Palestinians oppresses themselves with their hate and bigotry relegating themselves to their poverty and ignorance... what have they proposed to build their community... nothing."

Currently watching "Counting the Cost" on Al Jazeera. It's pointing out that the israeli economy has been severely harmed by the conflict ( forget tourism for a start ), and not least by calling up so many reservists which has deprived businesses of workers. Had a long shot of empty israeli streets and shuttered shops. It's also pointed out the risk to the world economy, so this conflict may end up negatively impacting all of us. The following was not seen on the program, and is my opinion. If OPEC decides to block oil exports that really will have us all suffering, especially with Russian oil off line for western nations. I have not forgotten the effects of the 70's oil cut off, and it'll be worse now, if it happens.

Agreed that they abandoned their "principles" and just abandoned the Palestinians to their fate. I wonder if the current mob in Parliament realise that their predecessors are responsible for the current fiasco? Had they not backstabbed the Arabs and allowed them to have the independence they promised when they needed them, modern israel would never have existed, and the current problem would not have occurred. One wonders how much guilt Lawrence felt for his part in the deception.

I agree with that, but to be pedantic it's the West bank. Whatever they say, their "encouragement" of the settlers to attack Palestinians ( with military backing ) indicates that is what they want. They have not said what their plan is for the Palestinians if they can't live in the West Bank. Perhaps they are intending to use the white Sth African apartheid policy of Bantustans, which would keep a captive supply of workers to build settlements.

Re the OP. According to Al Jazeera the israeli military is carrying out limited incursions into Gaza, but so far not a full scale invasion. Hamas says they repelled some, and are currently fighting another three, but facts will be hard to find at the moment. It has been reported that the bombing has increased over the normal level, along with increased shelling. A hospital with thousands of sheltering refugees has reportedly been ordered to evacuate, which is not practically possible, and apparently no safe area exists to evacuate to.

The poster you quoted seems to not realise that without fuel the Gaza power plant is unable to function, the desalination plants are unable to function, and that it is the israelis that have refused to allow fuel in. Also, there are apparently no safe places in Gaza to shelter. Everywhere is reportedly being bombed or shelled, and Palestinian children continue to die.

Most support letting israel live in peace, but they don't support israel not letting the Palestinians also live in peace. Till israel gives Palestinians a homeland and independence to live as they wish israel will have no peace. It's not possible to have peace while oppressing an entire people for decades. Just heard on Al Jazeera about the demonstration in London in support of Palestine, and how the tide is turning in British opinion. I didn't see any Palestinian flags, but that could be because I read that one can get arrested for holding one. The world is indeed watching, and the world is not impressed with what it sees in Gaza.

Indeed, with the connivance of the US and the western leaders that kowtowed to Washington, the western media has been successful at ignoring the Palestinian issue, and apparently the western masses remained blithely ignorant of the true situation. Thankfully to Al Jazeera, not entirely ignored. Seems to me that netanyahu and his cronies underestimated the world's response to just bombing thousands of Palestinians to bits from safety, and the reaction has probably shocked israel and the israeli supporters in the US government. Even the western media will have to cover 2.3 million human beings suffering under a relentless bombing campaign, while being cut off from water, food, electricity and medical support. The comparison between support being given to Ukraine vs that being given to Gaza will not have escaped many in the west. Meanwhile across the world, outrage is fuelling demonstrations, even in Denmark, and in Turkey the demonstrations are massive. It may be happening slowly, but IMO the tide is turning against israel, and western governments that support israel.

I've only seen one western movie that portrays it realistically. The Thin Red Line had a disemboweled soldier screaming and they gave him a bag full of morphine for him to kill himself with. Asian movies are far more realistic when it comes to violent death. -

Is sanity going to happen in the US congress after all? One can only hope. Without the US, the war in Ukraine will end, but Ukraine may end up in a worse negotiating position than it would have 2 years ago. If Zelensky ends up getting the boot even better. -

and? That has happened in every war, and is quite normal. Plenty of Brit soldiers executed for cowardice in WW1. Without that threat, what sane person willingly goes towards probable death? Real war isn't like the movies. Dying screaming of wounds isn't something the media normally shows. -

I see you prefer just bombing the Gazans to bits from the safety of far far away. What's better about that? One should be careful when accusing someone one does not know of being stupid. Stones and glass houses and all that. I could accuse a lot of your posts of being stupid, but I don't want to stoop to that level.
