  1. Russia IMO isn't going to withdraw ( bar another Gorbachev taking over ), but keep repeating the mantra if it makes you happy.
  2. Thanks to the israeli airforce bombing Gaza to bits the Hamas fighters have ideal cover for attacking the israelis when they invade. Even tanks will have a problem with that amount of rubble, and will have to slow down to a crawl to get over it, making them a much easier target. I assume the Hamas fighters have RPGs a plenty.
  3. Never forget that when it comes to the US, one is dealing with the military industrial complex. The 1% don't get rich when the US isn't needing to spend large on weapons. President Eisenhower warned about it after WW2.
  4. I agree on the buffer force, but can't see Biden ever agreeing to have US forces shoot at the israelis, nor the GOP. That's what the UN is supposed to do but they are a waste of space when it comes to israel. I'm puzzled as to why US boots would be needed, as the israelis have a much vaunted army, or is it not as good as claimed against lightly armed fighters? However I am worried that certain elements in the US government want a war with Iran, and are just itching for an excuse to go in. I can't see any other reason for 2 carrier groups.
  5. Must be getting close to the end of the temporary extension of the debt ceiling. Seems the US political system really is broken if they can't sort this fiasco.
  6. Because it's BS? Nothing about it on Al Jazeera.
  7. I don't think the US wants the israelis, which is why it tries so hard to keep them far, far away.
  8. I have to agree with everything you say in that post. Perhaps that's unusual! Sending a second carrier group is IMO worrisome, as it suggests they are anticipating joining in.
  9. Link? I've heard nothing about the US giving $100 million to the Palestinians.
  10. The comment was made on Al Jazeera this morning that the israelis apparently have no idea of what to do with Gaza after the invasion, which is why Biden made the comment that the israelis should not make the same mistakes as the US after 9 11. IMO right now the israelis just want revenge, and have no clue about what to do after they have "eliminated" Hamas ( which they can never do, given it's an ideology, not an army ).
  11. Once again america shows the world how "peaceloving" it is. How many Palestinians have to die before it's enough for America to apply it's claims of being on the side of angels in practical terms? Apparently they are even training the israelis in urban warfare, as the israelis don't have any experience of attacking Palestinians that can fight back. They are getting a whupping in public opinion with their antics in the UN security council. Even the UN secretary general has found a spine and called for a ceasefire, much to the israeli's displeasure. It's somewhat ironic that Russia is now looking more reasonable than the US in the security council with the solitary US holdout against humanitarian relief for Gaza.
  12. Get rid of their leaders and show the people that this isn't the way and there is a chance that they will get rid of it. But they need a chance. They can't do it themselves under the current conditions. and your solution for getting rid of the "leaders" is? Is it the israeli option of just killing a lot of people and hoping to kill the current leaders, then repeating the process every 30 years or so? Or, should they just ask nicely? How about giving them a country of their own and democracy? Oppression hasn't worked, so how about trying something different?
  13. Destroy Hamas, even at the cost of hundreds of thousands of dead civilians, and as long as israel continues to oppress the Gazans, another organisation will take it's place. Humans don't like to be oppressed. One can ignore history, but it is inevitable.
  14. Not quite right. Netanyahu has offered suffering and death, and has given a lot of it.
  15. What could the common theme possibly be for pretty much all the problems in the Middle East? Indeed. Now the result of their actions have come back to bite them, they don't like it, they don't like it at all, no siree. If only those lesser people in the Middle East knew their place in the world order, everything would be peachy, wouldn't it? ( sarcasm alert for the one eyed )
  16. If they have no future then of course they'll resort to extreme actions. Can keep people in a corner only for so long. Thank you for pointing out the reasons that Hamas was created in the first place. The israelis created them by occupying and oppressing the Palestinians, keeping them in a corner and removing any hope for a future. Somewhat ironic then that the israelis now complain about the inevitable reaction to oppression. Hamas was created in 1987, according to google, and that was long after the israelis illegally occupied Palestinian land.
  17. There is always some <deleted> being nasty on this forum. Sad, Luckily there is the ignore function. He's already on ignore so only way I saw what he said was when you quoted him.
  18. Similar to my experience. I was sent about 10 meters and helmet smashed, but it saved my life. No memory of the collision.
  19. I've been there, but not as bad as you. It's a long road back but hang in there and be happy you have a family for support.
  20. I'd be quite happy if they all put me on ignore so I don't have to see their posts when someone quotes them. There are enough not on ignore to still have a discussion.
  21. I'm not sure what point you are making with that, but Hezbollah has enough to overwhelm the israeli air defences if they send enough at once. The risk for israel at the moment is the fighting on the northern border expands into a war with Iran via Hezbollah, IMO.
  22. IMO anything that ends this IMO American proxy war is good for the people that won't die, but will if it continues.
  23. You dreamer you. The people of Gaza are probably 100% supporters of Hamas by now and the PLO has proven itself to be so incompetent in the West Bank that Hamas may make gains there politically. Hamas can not be defeated as it's an idea, not an army. They can kill every man woman and child in Gaza and it will live on in the hearts of every Palestinian living outside Palestine, and there are millions of them, and right now they probably all want revenge on israelis.
