  1. Sooooo, something that can just vanish because the government bans it? Wow, I should go spend all I have to get into that!
  2. My OS will not open the link, but in Antarctica I saw many auroras and they were amazing. Not all were the usually expected ones that look like a curtain, so I'm not surprised if there are unexpected sorts in Alaska.
  3. You beat me to it. Bleating impotently from far far away, LOL. Perhaps they are going to send the green berets in to secure the technology and win the war.
  4. I sort of agree with you, but if they have to make it a game to remove feral cats I can live with it. When I was a kid children killing pests like rabbits was normal, and we didn't need a game or a prize to do it.
  5. Problem with that is that adults would need to be paid, as it takes time and money to be a hunter.
  6. IMO it's all about making other people do, or not do, things, not about them and what THEY should do.
  7. I take it the people in the animal welfare groups are all vegan and don't use leather, LOL. Sadly NZ has gone woke, IMO. When I was a kid I shot rabbits ( a pest ) and that was regarded as a good thing. Feral cats are a pest, and kill birds, so it's a good thing to kill them.
  8. The world may be rudderless ( though Gaia may yet prove to be in charge ) but IMO there are certain people in positions of power that are doing their best to be the ones in charge, and not for the benefit of the ones they seek to control.
  9. and do you think that those "younger people" actually know what to do to reverse the climate trend that is affordable, acceptable and effective? Other than money making schemes for the already rich, I see nothing of much use. I gather that the CO2 already in the atmosphere will not be going anywhere soon, and at the rate of forest destruction is likely to be around even longer. Sooo, what is the plan to eliminate the CO2 already in the atmosphere, and is it even possible? Would we not be better off using the money presently spent on junkets for the climate change mob to have holidays in 5 star resorts on practical schemes to stop the oceans being polluted beyond recovery, and build defenses against storms?
  10. Well most of us were not immigrants, as our visas pointed out, so yes, most of us were guests.
  11. I can believe that. Lots of bad people around. Luckily I had nothing to do with children at work, only adults, but I refused to be alone in a room with a female patient with the door closed. Far too risky in this Brave New World of ours. BTW, back in the 1980s I actually worked on the children's ward with no problems, but it was before the western world went mad.
  12. You beat me to it. I'd be surprised if the report said they were not corrupt.
  13. I'd ban social media in a heartbeat if I could. I guess they don't ban them because they earn certain people loadsacash. It's all about money these days.
  14. Right on! I used to get a big box of fried chicken rice for 50 baht from a nearby restaurant that lasted me 4 meals. For those in Chiang Mai- you may be familiar with Gekkos restaurant. Great meals on special ( different specials every day ), that didn't cost the earth, and had loads of salad on them.
  15. You will when you wake up still hurting. For me a good day is one that I manage to get through the day without needing pain medication. Currently suffering a sore arm that just won't stop hurting.
  16. You must go to expensive restaurants, If I spent over 500 on a meal I'd be concerned I was eating too much. Does your wife not contribute to family expenses? My wife paid for her own clothes.
  17. I realised when working in the UK that the fastest way to go to jail was to have anything to do with any child for any reason. I worked in a surgical theatre and the recovery nurses in the children's section were forbidden by the hospital to physically comfort post op children because it could lead to legal problems. Society gone barking IMO.
  18. I'd rather be deported in one piece, than get to stay minus several body parts.
  19. LOL. Had he been an attractive she that claimed to be the Dali Llama's wife I might of.
  20. You seem to attract the weirdos. The only one I ever met claimed to be the Dali Llama, but he was interesting to talk to. Define normal? IMO there is no such thing, but if there was, a normal guy would go to school, get a job, get married, raise kids and die shortly after retiring. No way a "normal" guy would emigrate to Thailand to live, IMO. BTW womanising is a genetic imperative for men, so it's completely normal. What is abnormal is the idea that men should have one woman in their life, which has only been the dictat for a fraction of the 50,000 or so years that humans have been wandering around on the planet.
  21. Do tell? How many people on the planet and how many use twitter? I don't use it at all, ergo it has zero influence over me, and I am part of society. To all those claiming that man made climate change is a fact- if it was actually agreed on by all scientists there wouldn't be any dispute, but it's not, is it? When the well know people ( Gore, De Caprio etc ) spouting about it IMO either don't believe it or don't care about it as they fly about on their private jets, and when former presidents buy water front property in Hawaii, it makes sceptics of many of us. So long as those people are promoting the idea that we are responsible, don't expect all of us to believe it.
  22. I would say that the alarms about kids playing vdo games was well founded, going by what has happened since they were invented. Seeing as it's impossible to prevent a particular age group watching on line, a ban is the only practical solution IMO.
  23. That ghostly laughter is Gordon from his grave.
