  1. Remember "quantitative easing"? Printing money based on nothing. What else would happen other than inflation? After all, inflation is basically too much money and too few goods or services to buy with it.
  2. Rubbish. He never mentioned sex.
  3. You obviously have no idea of what it was like.
  4. The KIngs group upstairs bars had ping pong shows and reasonable prices, but I'd never have gone in any of the others. I only went a couple of times because the girls were too pushy. Downstairs was better and Cowboy was better than them and then I discovered Nana. Never went anywhere else after.
  5. First time I went to Thailand in the 70s I was on a bus tour from Singapore. One of the guys had a book about Patpong, and it was a pretty hard place back then. One of the stories in the book was about a bar girl set another bargirl's hair on fire because she "stole" her customer. I wanted to go there but the bus driver persuaded a few of us to go to a GI bar where the GIs had sex in curtained booths and they had a live sex show ( not very good though ). The driver probably got a commission for taking us there. I'd probably have enjoyed myself more at Patpong.
  6. Rubbish.
  7. He said he didn't like Pattaya and left quickly in a different thread, so I doubt he knows much if anything about the bar scene in Thailand.
  8. Happened anywhere, which was why I always knew how many drinks I bought.
  9. Are you referring to a Soi 4 near Patpong? Can't say I was familiar with such. The only collection of gay bars that I know of were Boys Town in Pattaya and a plaza in Pattaya I don't remember the name of.
  10. Those were the up stairs gogos. Street level was pretty safe and in the end pretty boring. IMO the horrid night market kept customers for the gogos away and a lot became bag shops. Nana was always heaps better than Patpong in the past 30 years. Friend of mine knew a girl worked in the Japanese street. Apparently it wasn't that they didn't want farangs, but the prices were too steep for them. They certainly had the very best looking girls as the bars had a gaggle of girls outside touting for customers and I used to walk along it for the visual experience.
  11. It's early days. Guys that make assessments based on a couple of years amuse me. When it gets better people will say how happy they are not to be told what to do by Brussels.
  12. Even better option, after getting divorced do not get married again. No man HAS to be married. We are all allowed one big mistake when it comes to women, but we need to understand it was a mistake, and that doing the same thing over and over is not a good idea. Your wish list woman IMO is impossible to find.
  13. Simple solution, learn to ignore her. If she won't park her m'bike under the new roof let her keep it outside, go kayaking without her, keep walking into tiger territory and let her find her own way, keep the wallet closed and let her earn her own money. IMO she must be absolutely amazing in bed to stay with her.
  14. Based on tv ads from the past 20 years, IMO your alien would believe that men are stupid creatures, and women incredibly intelligent, perfect specimens of humanity.
  15. Along with the above, seems to be that the major characters in soaps have to be ugly and aggressive. I stopped watching mainstream commercial tv long ago, given the excessive advertising, so thankfully I don't get to see the latest attrocities against us on tv. Now that people steal movies off the internet, DVDs have become something that op shops sell for a couple of $, so they do me quite nicely.
  16. Agree about the modern world. We've become mere consumers to make the rich richer- advertising is everywhere. I fondly remember radio shows when the family would gather to listen to Life with Dexter, Around the Horn, Journey into Space, etc.
  17. Are you trying to be obtuse? I never said I couldn't ever get on it, just sometimes. Always some joker taking the p.
  18. It's a shame that OPs on such threads rarely, if ever, post again to let us know how they got on and if the advice was helpful. If posters are prepared to give their time and advice for free it would be good manners to give an update. At least the OP on this thread did say thank you, but even that is rare.
  19. I went to a few FMPs in my time, so my opinion based on experienece: No need to stay in Hat Rin, and the hotels there are IMO a scam. Before covid some required extended time there before and after the party. Most resorts elsewhere provided transport to and from the party. If the Had Rin Queen is still operating can stay on Samui and go over for 24 hours. My advice- do NOT use the speedboats from Samui. When I was staying in N E Phangan I took the coastal ferry down, slept on the beach and ferry back next day. That time of year best to book resort if you are not familiar with that area. MY BEST advice is not to do illegal drugs there. The dealers apparently inform the cops who they sold to, and there are usually casualties that took bad drugs. Buying oneself off a drug charge isn't cheap and the cops have 2 years to make up for. Also, if up for a bit of the other, watch out for the katoeys that look for drunk guys to roll.
  20. I stayed 6 months a year on a non O with retirement ( over 50 ) extensions, and bought travel insurance each time. I left the 800,000 permanently in a Thai bank account. Seemed to be the simplest option.
  21. It's only for a while, not forever! Hopefully this is the end for that social media platform, and even more hopefully that facethingy will follow them into oblivion.
  22. Given they have not even announced officially that they will try to eliminate the investigation, perhaps we should wait and see if you or I are correct.
  23. Your reply to my post that you quoted has absolutely nothing at all to do with my post. Deflecting much?
