  1. Beware ther pay back practices! My missus diagnosed cancer and treatment & operations started. Social Security hospital OK, however she needed to be referred to the cancer hospital and this has to be paid up front. Took SS 13 months to start paying back the 1st lump they accepted. 1st amount 170 k. Divided monthy for 6 months for refund. Took anouther 3 months for the 2nd lump of 150,000 to start paying. (They blamed the elections for this ????) Cost me 2 million so far and hasn't stopped. You only get back 70% and this is just going back into the medical bills. If the company doesn't pay SS on time for the employee there is a fine. The system is F*ked! Tried to open a "Gofundme" but cannot from Thailand. Even if someone does for you overseas you still cannot access it here, even with a VPN! ????????
  2. I have just been through the exercise and so did my friend. You have to go outside Thailand to get a Non B. Laos, Cambo or Penang is the closest. End of story!
  3. You need to be outside Thailand to apply for a non B. You will only get 90 day single entry. Now a letter of autherisation is required from the Labour Dept as well as all the other documentation.
  4. Did you mortgage your house to decide on BPH? ????
  5. A new system is a good idea if it's that old. Eco Clear recycled plate glass is far superior to Zelbrite. I used zeolite extensively for 10 years and then switched to Eco Clear for the last 10 years. Zeolite has a 5 year life and needs recharging (Cleaning) or replacing were as Eco Clear will last up to 15 years. Eco Clear is less likely to channel or block unlike sand or Zelbrite plus it doesn't support biofilm build up. Eco Clear wetinfo.pdf
  6. It is called a MPV. Multiport valve. Is it side mount or top mount MPV? One of the gaskets inside is called a spider. Pull it apart and see if you can find what is leaking. New gaslet are at least 600 baht now with a spider gasket most likely 900/1000 baht.
  7. Below ground nothing but trouble. Poor ventilation, humidity and problems if you have a leak! Build a pump room big enough to store garden equipmemt etc!
  8. That particular brand are not the best on the market. Trouble with changing brands is that they have different brackets and the water needs droping to fit the new ones. 99% of LED's are made in China. PM me is you want a price on a new set.
  9. Have you got anyone lined up to do the work?
  10. Most pool pumps allow for around 15 m head. So it would most likely need an increase in pump size. Where are you located?
  11. How can it be on the wrong side of the road? It's a one way street!
  12. Test the supply water ph. Typically you need to dose acid twice weekly. Try 1 litre at a time in a bucket of water and spread it around. You can also get acid in crystal form. Just leave it in a bucket of water over night. Salt systems create chlorine gas and in turn creates Sodium Hypochlorite which in turn raises the ph. It will be an ongoing process.
  13. Come on man, there are no prosititutes in Thailand. They must have been cashiers & receptionists with time off! ????
  14. If he leaves the country on a B Visa (Permission to stay stamp) without a re-entry permit the B Visa will be cancelled automatically.
  15. Thanks for the sensible answer. Sounds about right. Any chance to gouge/hit farang for satang. Usual keyboard warriors are wasting everybodies time, especially their own! ????????
  16. My lawyer says that for a new 3 month Non B visa (not me) now has to have application for the W/P at the same time to get the new authorization letter requirement from the labour department for the B visa. He quoted 40 k. I feel it's over the top. (Plus the mini bus trip at 13K) Then when it needs changing to a "Permission to stay" at the end of 3 months, another 35k? Anybody been through the usual B/S hoops lately?
  17. Either, the choice is yours. However tiling is over kill. Cheaper & quicker to waterproof render. As we did for 3STTW Where are you located?
  18. Yep mung beans! Could eat but I wouldn't! ???? The surface hasn't been waterproofed as also probably the gutter. As I suspected - There is the reason for the high ph.
  19. In tropical & humid conditions it's always best to keep your salt levels @ 4,000 ppm.
  20. The chlorinator doesn't stop working when the ph is high. When ph is high the CL is weaker. When you lower the ph the Cl will become stronger. It's all about chemistry. No matter what acid you use, if the ph is kept between 7.4 - 7.6 you will get longivity out of your grout and slow down the degridation of your surface. Unless the builder has used bathroom grout! (They Do) It's also possible that the overflow gutters and the balance tank haven't been waterproofed. I have come across this a few times here in Thailand. (Builder saving $$$) This would explain the high ph! MrJ2U When you want glass, contact me has I supply. There are different types on market - "Eco Clear" recycled plate glass (See attached) & recycled bottleglass. The later is ???? Eco Clear wetinfo.pdf
  21. You may need to up the quanity of acid being dosed. Example - 100 k litre pool would need approx 3/4 to 1 litre acid twice a week in a salt pool.
  22. It wasn't an answer, it was an opinion on another system. Your experience with UV may be good, however I have experienced many dozens of commercial & private pools in 3 countries that have had bad experiences with UV technology!
  23. Most likely a winter switch is on. That is the reason for the low Cl. However it is the CL made by the cells that are normally the reason for the ph being high and needing acid to bring it down. Something else is adding to the increase in ph. Is it a new or old pool? What is the final surface of the pool? If tiles & if so, is the grout gone?
