  1. In tropical & humid conditions it's always best to keep your salt levels @ 4,000 ppm.
  2. The chlorinator doesn't stop working when the ph is high. When ph is high the CL is weaker. When you lower the ph the Cl will become stronger. It's all about chemistry. No matter what acid you use, if the ph is kept between 7.4 - 7.6 you will get longivity out of your grout and slow down the degridation of your surface. Unless the builder has used bathroom grout! (They Do) It's also possible that the overflow gutters and the balance tank haven't been waterproofed. I have come across this a few times here in Thailand. (Builder saving $$$) This would explain the high ph! MrJ2U When you want glass, contact me has I supply. There are different types on market - "Eco Clear" recycled plate glass (See attached) & recycled bottleglass. The later is ???? Eco Clear wetinfo.pdf
  3. You may need to up the quanity of acid being dosed. Example - 100 k litre pool would need approx 3/4 to 1 litre acid twice a week in a salt pool.
  4. It wasn't an answer, it was an opinion on another system. Your experience with UV may be good, however I have experienced many dozens of commercial & private pools in 3 countries that have had bad experiences with UV technology!
  5. Most likely a winter switch is on. That is the reason for the low Cl. However it is the CL made by the cells that are normally the reason for the ph being high and needing acid to bring it down. Something else is adding to the increase in ph. Is it a new or old pool? What is the final surface of the pool? If tiles & if so, is the grout gone?
  6. 2 shops in Pats. One or two at the OMJ & the other on the corner of Suk and the main road into Naklua (which is a pain to get to)
  7. Chlorine oxygenates the water (Raising the ORP). 304 stainless will rust in this environment. Get some absorbic acid (Vit C) and use it to clean the rust stains. You could soak the bolts in the solution as well. IMO it is the bolts rusting from the caustic water.

If you partner is refering to calcium - boiling the water is useless. The only way you will remove the limestone (Calcium)? is via Reverse Osmosis. For 3,000 baht you most likely would have only purchased a 3 stage filtration system. I still would'nt drink it. You would be better of buying a R.O under sink system for drinking!
  10. You cannot get a Non - B in Thailand. You have to travel out of the country. A teacher friend of mine just went through this exercise from one school to another and needed to do the bus trip to Laos. He said it was a pain in the (Ars*) You only get a 90 single entry. So best get all the W/P paperwork lined up as well! Flight to PP would have been better.
  11. Rubbish. I have have used all of them and I had serious lower back injury in my mid 20's. L4 & L5 disc prostrusion. The nuerosurgeon want to operate. Thanks to some great advice from a naturapth that did remedial massage I was put on the right path. I had all of these treatments over a few years & fixed my back naturally. I even became a Thai Chi intructor and a qualified Yoga teacher to boot! However you are correct, diet & exercise are an important part of any treatment!
  12. I can refer you to a very compitent natural therapist in Northern NSW if interested PM me.
  13. With her monthly bill around 700 K, her ROI is at 23 months. Seems feasable! ????
  14. Good luck with that. Cannot in or from Thailand. I tried to get help for funding of my missus's cancer treatment. Some one has to do it in acceptable country and they need to manage it as you cannot access from Thailand.
  15. My mate had it done a few months ago at around 300K. He is very happy with results!
  16. I got mine approved online last time with doc! However a few days later I got an emailing saying that I was over due to do it. Clowns to left etc! I have the DOC F#em!
  17. Seen this many times here. The smell is chloramine which is a gas that is formed when chlorine reactes with amonia. They obviously are using 90% Tri-Chlor which comes mostly in granular or powder form. It has a very low pH value as well. Acidic water is what causes the sting. The chlorine levels will come down naturally. The pool guy would just be doing the same robotic actions every time he comes to service the pool. Unless he changes his actions it will keep on keeping on!
  18. I supply pumps but not that brand. PM me if you want info. (Good Quality & quiet) It's not difficult to change brands. Cheers
  19. After recharging the filter with recycled plate glass media (Eco Clear) the 1st backwash "may" take longer. However every backwash after the first one is actually shorter, saving on water, chemicals & or salt!
  20. Anybody up to date with applying for a S/entry 90 day Non B visa. Are financials required or is just the company papers, application, I.D (Passport) etc required? I getting mixed messages and my lawyer wants 35 k to process everything including the work permit. We want the B visa 1st. The potential employee is travelling back to Oz and we want to know if he should get whilst back there (2 months) or do a run to Cambo or Laos? A friend just did a Visa run to Laos for the B visa at a cost of total 15 k all in. (For a International School) He stated he was not aware of any financials in the paperwork.
  21. Rubber tape & it is water tight. Not sure of the brand name. But my supervisor gets it from most hardwares.
  22. Lucky as heaps are lemons! Even my local pool shop which I sometimes get bits & bobs always has a few on the floor waiting to go BKK for repairs. A far as cleaning - good job. However it's oils that stop production. So a little dishwashing detergent will do the job prior acid/water clean as acid won't clean the oil.
