  1. Fixed by a local respected mechanic Darkside opposite Aqua Dyne Bar Nongprue. 8,800. Saved me trying to get it to Ford which would have cost me a few K for sure.
  2. Cleaner is not needed. Just a good backwash.
  3. My mate retired as a English teacher for the Navy. His wife has a mrtgage ona house. He was told he had to have the Yellow Book which you also get the pink ID card for him to continue his SS. Which he has started the B/S paperwork so he can keep paying!
  4. I can tell you our experience - Missus referred to a non SS hospital for cancer treament well over 50 times in the last Yr. Pay up front for this but claimable. A few times in private hospitals, not claimable but cost a small fortune & did a better job. Over 1 yr since 1st claim and told will start payment refund of 1st claim sometime in Oct, 170K over the next 6 months. Spent over 600 K. Not finished yet! Been a strain on me/business and her family! If late for the SS monthly payment you cop a fine! ???? How do the natives cope. (Just let em die I suppose) ????
  5. Still a pure blood & proud I didn't get caught up in the biggest con & experiment in history!! Human body is a miracle & has a fantasic emmune system that copes with the FLU & COLDs unless old & weak. Which has always been the case!
  6. A simple pump driven by a simple motor can run for decades without any care. Will the speed converter live also so long? ????????????????
  7. Normal garbage collection around 40 baht p/mth. If in an estate the balance is cheap for common fees. I pay just over a 1,000 baht in a gated estate in Pats with well kept lawns, swimming pool & small gym!
  8. Some good info there. When the pump room is below the water line in most cases, if not to much, then normally the 3 piece ball valves should be placed above the waterline! See pictures for 8 valves we replaced and increased height to above waterline. 1 hp pump for a 90, k litre pool is a joke. You where wise to upgrade to 1.5. Depending on the size of the filter, even 2hp would have been good.
  9. FYI that brand was not available for sometime. That is why it became unavailable in Thailand. I personally know the guy who bought Poolrite equipment brand owned it for a couple of years and folded it. Someone else has taken up the batten and run with it. I don't particularly care as it is history!
  10. Then someone took over the name and has negotiated with the equipment supplier in China as I know full well "Who" used the bankruptcy as a tax loss! Pool Man is an online store and sells multiple brands not just Poolrite.
  11. Sometimes having the pump on blocks is a good idea. It may help when exchanging to a different model. Your friend who has done work for you before would have no problem installing a different model. Even with no experience it could be done in under 1 hour. Pumps come with new couplings but you may need to adjust the current in/out pipes. Your current pump is way over its use by date anyway! Impellor is most likely worn as well. Emuax are an OK brand and Haywood IMHO are way over priced. Poolrite was bankrupted years ago in Australia. The main dealer for Poolrite in Thailand was GDL based in Hua Hin!
  12. I think either the master or slave cyclinders on my Ford Ranger are worn as I am getting no peddle quite regularly. Does anyone have any experiece with costings? Obviously both will need redoing or replacing. I most prabably could get it to Ford on Suk Pattaya as it is approx 6/7 klm.
  13. The UV+ is not available anymore due to unreliability with UV lamps. Great concept, however UV lamps don't last long in any environment. You can get replacement cells without the UV lamp. I will check if it is a simple change or maybe some small electronics need adjusting! PM me to keep updated! Cheers
  14. Ok Mr Google who didn't do the installation 12 yrs ago! That is what is called a magnetic in the industry not a pump controller! It is a safety mechanism. The reason that the pump is plugged into the chlorinator is becuase the chlorinator draws power before the pump so it doesn't do what you think it does. If I am wrong with hundreds of instalations, why do the chlorinators have a female socket for the plug for the pump? As per photo. However that particular brand is highly unreliable at best and they have now deleted the connection due to the fact that that the natives don't use it. If you look under your machine you may be suprised to see a connector for the pump! We replace magnetics on a regular basis! Becuase they do their job! But you seem to know better!
  15. If the pump wire goes into the control box then it is not controled by the chlorinator. If the pump wire goes into the chlorinator then it is controlled by the clorinator. With the later, If there is a flow issue then the pump will be turned off by the chlorintor as protection. If it was installed by Thais then there is a very good chance that the pump is not plugged into the chlorinator. If it is it is very unusual. Normally the chlorinator timer has a On/Auto/Off setting. I not sure what you mean by a contactor? If the On/Auto/Off is located on the chlorinator then this is the timer control. As already stated, these are unreliable and do fail regularly. If this is the case then you need to run both the pump & the chlorinator through a separate timer. Normally one is in the electrical control box. If not they are about 800 baht.
  16. Of course I did. Is the pump plugged directly into the clorinator?
  17. The are flow sensors in the chlorinators. It is very dangerous for a chlorinator to run with no flow. They can and will explode. Is the pump plugged into the chlorinator?
  18. Sounds like the timer on the chlorinator is playing up. We by pass them even on top quality machines which we only deal with (PuraPool). The timers are the week link in all brands. Use the timer supplied in the control box for the pump & the chlorinator and just turn the chlorinator to on.
  19. Approx 60 kg. Bags come in 25 kg. So you need 3 (Use 2 1/2)
  20. I have done this 3 times over the years and works great. No drugs. 2" of cold water in a glass add 1 level teaspoon of gelatine and leave at room temp for at least 2 hours. Then mix with a fruit or milk drink. 1st time I did this it took about 10 days to have an effect 2nd time 15 days & 3rd time couple of months.
  21. Here is a great article comparing, sand, Zeolite & Eco Clear recycled plate glass. What is the best filter media for my sand filter? - Platinum Pool Service
