  1. I have owned nothing but Briggs and Stratton mowers for 35 years and my SOP is simple - run it WFO all the time and change the oil.

Mechanically they are very simple, however if you do not know that the points are under the flywwheel, how to pull the flywheel, or it has points at all then fixing it will be problematic at best. Plug, points, air filter, and oil maintenance, will keep it running for ever. As noted, hunting sounds like an air leak or other carb issue.

    Does it hunt when WFO?

Here is his reply to me:

    Hello ,

The bike has greenbook available along with all registration papers in Thailand available, the bike is located in a private parking in Thailand and is already registered in my name, i bought the bike from Thailand and i'm the second owner,it has only 9000 original kilometers on it, and has all verification papers from the mechanic who verified it, and all this information can be found on technical book history of the bike that is also present, the bike has ABS brakes.

Two weeks ago a person from Thailand told to me that he want to buy my bike.I said Ok,we will meet in Thailand and we will make the deal.I come in Thailand but no buyer, never respond my emails or calls .For this reason i need to be sure that you really want to buy my bike.

I am in Italy now and the bike is in Thailand..Here is how we can start this deal together.I do not need any advance payment done to me until you see my bike.

But because i will have to come back in Thailand to meet with you and make the deal face in face, i can not put myself on the road until i will have some kind of warranty :

Here is EXACTLY how I propose you to make a safe deal:

-You go to your nearest Western Union branch and deposit the money that you have to pay me for the bike on a familiar name ( Ex your best friend ) .

-After you deposit the money you will receive the receipt ( your Send Money Form paper copy ). Scan it and send it back to me in JPEG format.

-Once I receive the scanned receipt from you,i will keep the bike just for you and i I will IMMEDIATELY go and but the plane ticket and also i will send you the scan so you can know for sure when i will arrive....

You will not pay anything until you will check the bike and we will make the papers in your name.I know that buying or selling on the Internet can be rather difficult, and it is always hard to trust your companion, because you have never hear or see him.For this reason I want to complete this deal in the safest way possible, for you and for me.

You will have to send the money to your familiar name ,not in my name and this way you are protected and for me this will be the warranty that you really want to buy my bike.

The transfer must to be like this:

sender name : here will be your name

    sender address : your addres

receiver name : father, brother, relative name etc.

    receiver address : Italy

Once I receive the scanned receipt from you, I will immediately go and buy the plane ticket and i will come with the bike at you..After i will come to you , you will inspect the bike and all the papers.I will cover all the expenses for this money transfer once we meet. All the taxes will be deducted from the price of the bike. When you will send me the scanned paper i will see that you are a serious person and you really want to buy my bike.

    Thanks

Beware, and if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is

  3. Went up to the school this morning to put up some banners for tomorrows event and check it out in light of the heavy rains. No problems with the road and Mrs Hoghead has checked with the weather service and overcast skies are predicted.

So the event is on and we hope to see you all tomorrow morning at Richco Motorsports, leaving at 10:15

  5. The countdown on the website is for the Chiangmai ToyRide Feb 20. 2011 main event where we raise funds and collect toys that are distributed throughout the year. We are expecting 300 plus bikes, meet at Tesco Lotus Khamtien at 9:45 AM, go for a ride around Chiangmai, ending up at the X-Centre in Mae Rim, where we have a live band for the adults and a party for the kids.

Throughout the year we have several "give away rides" to distribute the toys collected on the main event day, and use Sponsorship donations to buy educational, and sports equipment for needy schools in our Playgrounds Plus Programme.

We also donate blankets and toys on a case by case basis, and arrange for Santa to visit the Kids ward in Maharaj Hospital with bags full of toys on Christmas Eve.

The Oct 22 event is one such "give away ride". As this is during a weekday, it is typically a small event with around 30 bikes plus support trucks to haul all the goodies

There will be one if not 2 more give away events before the main ride Feb 20. and I will post here when we have a date(s)

Hope to see you there and all bikes are welcome, big or small

  6. Posted in the CM forum so I hope the Mods will not chastise me for double posting, but this topic is applicable to both groups

The Chiangmai ToyRide is having another give away event at a needy Hmong school near Samoung. We have already donated a water system for their new school and on Oct 22 will be riding our bikes for a give away event to the school and kids themselves. Every school is different and in addition to the water system, we are providing football goals, marching band equipment, and sporting goods, plus toys for all the kids.

We will be bringing a clown, buying the kids lunch, and having a bit of fun including the now traditional tug of war game that the bikers have yet to win.

Come along for the ride and see for yourself how your support for the Chiangmai ToyRide can help the lives of these children.

All bikes big and small are welcome and will be leaving Richco Motorsports on Whulai Rd. at 10:15 AM Oct 22 and arrive at the school about 11:00. Richco is the motorbike shop right behind the big cow on Whulai Rd.

  8. A perusal of the MSDS sheets suggests that one could brew up some carb cleaner using 10% methylene chloride or MEK (methyl ethyl ketone)+ either kerosene or alcohol. Once again both chemicals are nasty stuff.

I still would rather buy some commercial swill.

There is always boiling vinegar, but I put my faith in the nasty chemicals.

  9. Quality tools are difficult to find, however Sata is one of the better locally available brands.

I use Nana Tool and he has both good stuff and crap. If not available he will order what you need

Just off the moat road heading towards Tesco. There will be a bunch of yellow songtaws blocking parking in front of his shop

  10. I need to rebuild a set of Weber 40 IDF's and cannot find carb cleaner. The dunk the carb in type, not the spray into the throat of a running car.

Any idea where to buy some or what chemical I can use? I suspect that trichloroethylene or perchloroethylene will work and if so a dry cleaner may be of help. I am a bit leery to use either due to health risks.

Better yet anyone that has an ultrasonic cleaner big enough to take the body

  11. I was in Richco Chiangmai today and see that he has some mesh jackets with airbags. Operates with a rip cord attached to the bike. The jacket has the typical soft "armour" in the elbows and shoulders and a rain liner for around 8500.

He also had airbag leather vests, however I fail to see the use for one unless you were to wear it over a protective jacket

  12. US$430.00 for a wire transfer???? Really difficult to imagine that. Are you trying to wire 16,000 ounces of gold?

missed a decimal point and it is 40.00 plus 30 for the fee

  13. I have a Citibank Singapore card, and am balking at paying their 430.00 USD fee to wire 16,000

Do I understand correctly that I can go into BKK Bank where I have an account, and withdraw and/or transfer from City to BKK without paying a fee?
