  1. Anyone anywhere is allowed to be a parent. Less qualifications needed than you need to work in McDonalds. In fact, none needed at all. It's a strange world.
  2. I guess you didn't read The father faces charges under Section 246 of the Customs Act for distributing untaxed vaping products, facing potential penalties of up to five years in prison, a hefty fine, or both. Authorities are also probing the supply chain responsible for selling the vape devices.
  3. Maybe you didn't read that The boy has been placed under the care of Mueang Saraburi Shelter for Children and Family for a thorough examination regarding vaping's impact on his health.
  4. They might be referred to as tour buses, but they are not on tour. See my post above. Stay safe.
  5. Why? Because for some reason most regular bus services are called tour buses. It's another example of Thais using English words that they don't understand. The bus in the photo is a regular service that goes from A to B, unless it was hired in this case to be a tour bus. Which I doubt is the case. It doesn't 'tour'. Putting Tour Bus on the front doesn't make it a tour bus, in the same way that putting VIP on the front doesn't mean it is for VIPs. VIPs do not take the bus.
  6. One - it isn't a tour bus, From the photo, it's a regular bus service Two - someone wasn't paying attention and was going too fast to avoid a collision. Perfectly normal here.
  7. That thought crossed my mind.
  8. Who says they buy it? All they do is report what is happening. Have you seen any commentary articles supporting him?
  9. Not difficult to see why people might be less than helpful to you. Locked up for weeks (keeping why a secret) which means you've been in conflict in Pattaya about something or with someone, you slag off the Australian bank clerk who had to tell you to calm down, and then you slag off the police there. Ever wonder why it's you against the world?
  10. I'm amazed there are not more accidents like this. Many locals simply don't have the know-how to run something as dangerous as a rocket festival, It needs discipline and an awareness of danger and adherence to safety standards something that is so often lacking in Thailand.
  11. Sounds reasonable, but these come and go at quite short intervals. I remain puzzled.
  12. A place near me sometimes has around 40-50 goats, My wife said it was for their milk, and when I saw it for sale in the supermarket I saw the attraction. It was very expensive. What puzzles me is that sometimes the goats are there and sometimes they aren't.
  13. Yep, that's the kind of thing. I'm guessing it's the first step of a potential scam. As you say, a pity 😃
  14. I've never forgotten the six words a Korean tv producer said to me many years ago when we worked together for a weekend. The standards here are so low. Summed up Thailand perfectly, and I'll just leave it there so I'm not banned for exercising free speech.
  15. Yet again, long straight road, well-lit, and someone drives straight into a van and kills themself. Amazing.
  16. Because of traffic lights ahead, do you think?
  17. And when the reporter asked the tv station to comment, what did they say? Oh wait. Thais are taught from first day at school never to ask awkward questions, Not great training for a journalist. And when one tried it with the previous PM the PM threatened to have his mouth taped shut.
  18. There. Fixed it. There is no age between 15 and 16.
  19. And the money to maintain and run the system will come from.....?
  20. Idiotic comment and so, so original. Did you make that up all by yourself? As I say, you don't believe in free speech. Happily. others do.
  21. So you believe in censorship in case it offends a section of society. Okay. And who elected those at the BBC who decide what people can or cannot say? Interesting concept from an organisation which has previously made its name by being fair and balanced. Now, as in so much of society, an alternative view isn't allowed. We now live in The Age Of Intolerance.
  22. You didn't read my post properly. The BBC's political pundits can talk about politics. Lineker could switch from being a (crap) sports presenter to being a political pundit. Then he could spout his champagne socialist views 24/7. But while he's a sports presenter he can't be a leftie political influencer at the same time. ANYONE is allowed to have a point of view, whoever they work for, in a democratic country. It is not for an employer to dictate what you are allowed to say and what you are not. His job has absolutely nothing to do with what he says or does off-air. Clearly, you don't like him, calling what I believe is the BBC's highest paid presenter crap. If he is so bad at his job, why has the BBC employed him for so many years in the role, and responded to the outcry by backing down when they tried to say he should keep his mouth. He is so highly respected that the response was many of his colleagues going on strike and the BBC forced into drastic programme changes. Just because he might have a different point of view to yours doesn't mean he has to be muzzled. That only happens in dictatorships like China and Russia and North Korea. Something you appear to support.
  23. Sorry, but some people are just too dumb for words. IQ of zero. Good luck expecting the police to do anything. They wouldn't want to start a precedent, would they. They might all be expected to work.
  24. I also get ants in my clean kettle in my clean kitchen, especially during the hot season, because they need water in the same way we do. Just wash the drowned bodies out each day. I have more problems with jin joks. I've had two tvs damaged beyond practical repair when the things have fried themselves on the circuitry.
