  1. Could you read the linked article? Natt denied taking the gold bracelet and claimed that she also tried to return the phone to Mr. Kotay because she could not use it due to the passcode.
  2. You didn't batter him or her to death though, did you. There's the difference. In Thailand playing loud music can, and has, got people killed. Many Thais have a very, very short fuse and are a danger to us at any time
  3. Different aspect of the case. This is about a German who claims he paid a bribe, and has a recording of the 'discussion'.
  4. What is the fuss about? No-one doubts for a moment that Thai police, once described by the UN as a criminal organisation, are corrupt. It isn't a secret. And to prove it, this alleged child rapist was allowed out on bail despite the seriousness of the charge, his passport returned and immigration, who no doubt received their cut if they they even were informed, allowed him to flee the country. The are either corrupt or utterly inept. Or both. And now the police say they would try to uncover what went wrong (how the cat was let out of the bag). Will there be a follow-up by the media after six committees have looked into it for a year?
  5. Happened just last week, when a driver honked before overtaking another vehicle. Wise and sensible thing to do, but the fragile Thai ego was offended so he chased him down and killed him. Lovely culture they have here.
  6. They aren't the problem, are they. And no-one is saying everyone is the same as the low-lifes that murder someone over next to nothing.
  7. The fact that you have also antagonized so many who have contributed to this thread might, if you stop to think, tell you something. Other than they are all wrong and you are right. None of us will feel it necessary though to kill you with an iron bar.
  8. Absolutely not something to kill someone over, not even close. However this sort of needless and unnecessary violence and murder happens especially here all the time in Thailand. You can be killed over absolutely anything in Thailand. The Thais seem to have no moderation in their behaviour. Everything is done to the max, be it loud music, speeding, violence. Everything is black and white as they have never been taught or been able to think or talk things through. Add in low education, and the inability to reason leads to violence. Anywhere. It is the only way they know to express themselves. I'm sure though that is isn't limited to Thailand. We only read of such cases here because that's where we are. Much of the world is poor and uneducated. The human race really hasn't advanced very far.
  9. Not something to kill someone over though, is it, especially in the Buddhist Land Of Smiles.
  10. The scam received loads of publicity, both in Thailand and overseas. A small wrapped item was placed in the bag with a customers purchase, with the customer thinking it was a gift from the store. Then they were nabbed outside and, under fear of missing their flight, they paid a 'fine'. I believe they were told they would be taken to a police station away from the airport, to give them an extra incentive to 'settle the matter'. It all went wrong when they scammed a Norwegian professor, who reported it widely after he returned home. And that led to a high-level investigation and 'change of policy'. Norwegians aren't as accepting of corruption as Thais. They get upset. I can't imagine it was official KP policy, but rather an 'enterprising' staff member or two, in cooperation with Thailand's fine upstanding law enforcers.
  11. There is no way to improve the Thai IQ level without totally revamping the education system to allow Thais to ask questions and debate things without the fear of pupils or teachers losing face. And there is zero evidence of that happening.
  12. The low Thai IQ affects all of us who live here at some time or another. Trying to reason with a Thai is like banging your head against a wall. Low IQ = no common sense.
  13. I'd guess that the street light worked and it wasn't dark before he drove into it. How does the street look to you, even after? Bright enough for me to see where I would be going, even without headlights.
  14. There WAS a vote you know. Where's the bad precedent in that.
  15. And what was the thug doing exactly, apart from kicking others?
  16. And Thai Air hasn't taken over the flights with same time? Correct. Or at least there are several flights a day (I tried to check the exact number with a pretend booking and got a blank screen. Well done, THAI. But the airport website says five). The OP seems to be easily confused. Hence his post I suppose. Even the title has nothing to do with his gripe, which is about a charge for insurance and not luggage.
  17. Same old, same old. Has anyone accepted responsibility? Did the reporter seek a comment from whoever was guilty of leaving the cable there? Meanwhile, the government talks of making sure the country is safe for tourists. Hot air, as usual. Same old, same old.
  18. Why should officials be concerned? Those who want to risk their life for a photo aren't. Up to them.
  19. Or Ghosts Live Here. That would do it too.
  20. Helps you buy football clubs (Leicester City plus Leuven in Belgium), own a five-star hotel and construct one of the tallest and most iconic buildings in Bangkok.
  21. When they arrived at the accident scene, the road was relatively dark, leading to the collision with the streetlight pole and the subsequent overturning of the vehicle. Relative to what? Looks bright enough to me. Yet more ridiculous reporting.
  22. Just stop all this nonsense. Only his most blinkered supporters believe that he is so desperately sick that he needs to spend over 100 days in hospital. The other 99.9% know it's all play-acting and yet another case of one rule for them and another for 'VIPs'. All the shenanigans fools nobody (except the 0.1% - and even those deep down know the truth).
  23. Sacre Bleu! On the positive side, along with no-one being injured, is that they could walk the rest of the distance to the restaurant.
  24. I think most of us would find it quite difficult to overturn a tanker or any other large vehicle, but it seems that Thais have a skill that we lack.
