Semantics There is no international policemen. that will inforce worlds legislation regardless of what a few countries in the world might think. For instance, In your country there is a law against bank robbery, I am sure the bank robbers don't agree with such law, but non the less they are bound by it. In the world stage no such binding legal system exists, Sure we have the UN, and the world court, but that's for the small countries large powers can ignore both with impunity. So where does that leave us? It is by convention illegal in 120 countries out of 195 and as such it can reasonably considered an international convention. So everyone has a speaker. You have a speaker and the person on the other end has a speaker. You both also have a microphone. As KannikaP said , one of the problems is feedback . The sound of your friends voice, coming out of your speaker but some of it going back into your microphone and being send back to your friend causing interference. Both your system and your friends system should have an acoustic echo cancellation . But perhaps it is not doing what it is supposed to do , I only have cursory knowledge of the issue. So that might be one of the reasons. This can be resolved as KannikaP said by wearing headphones, So try that first because it is the easiest thing to do, A second reason is that it is not a receiving error by your friend but rather a sending issue at your end. Perhaps your microphone has a problem. Finally, it might not be an error on either end, but and internet connection error. I have conversations with my sister in Europe where she can hear me clearly. but she is breaking up. I usually hung up and call her again to see if I can get a better connection. I don't know exactly but perhaps the lines on her end are overworked, Anyway I am far from an expert on the subject, but this might start you thinking in the right direction.

Not sure what MOBI is. I looked in Gutenberg.org and could not find a file extension called MOBI. And if you do find it and download it, how do you get it from you loptop into your kindle ? I do see the "EPUB3 (E-readers incl. Send-to-Kindle) " but it does not send it to kindle and every search I made as to why or how, did not yield any actionable results.
