Pita To Be Given Second Chance For PM: Wan Noor
sirineou replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"that they are appointed does not mean that they aren't well meaning. They are supposed to vote what they think is best for the country. " And we all know that politicians always do what they are supposed to do, especially when what they supposed to do goes against the entity that appointed them. because they are all moral and upstanding citizens. As proof of that is the total lack of political corruption in Thailand. ???? Then why even have an election? lets have these "well meaning" military appointees select the best person, and save the country and the Thai people a lot of trouble and expense, But again . Its neither here nor there : " My statement that it is not a matter of majority but of the worst kind of politics stands unless someone can provide me some evidence that Pita cannot form a majority goverment " -

I disagree with the "are mostly well meaning, "unless of course denying a fairly won election is well meaning. These are not elected people they are appointed appointed by the military (Prayut ), But that's neither here nor there, My statement that it is not a matter of majority but of the worst kind of politics stands unless someone can provide me some evidence that Pita cannot form a majority goverment, -
I dont think you need a work permit for opening the business' you can open the business and you can be the director, i but you can't work there until you get a work permit. Consult a lawyer as to what activities are covered under the term "Director" in your particular business, " It is possible to be a director of a Thai Limited Company without holding a work permit, but you cannot take part in any management of the company " https://www.sunbeltasia.com/registering-a-new-company-in-thailand

the + senators is the operative word here. Of course you need to have a majority, that's why coalitions are formed. But I have yet to see a headline " Pita cannot form a majority coalition, all I hear , he might have owned stock in a media co. He is violating Lèse-majesté, bla bla bla. -

In Total, 64 Deaths in 4 Months From Phuket Road Accidents
sirineou replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
According to the world health Organization, 70% of injuries from motor vehicle accidents is caused from motorcycles. So unless you ride a motorcycle most of the time , your chance of injury from a motor vehicle accident is no worst that most countries in the world. This point is reputedly made in these "Thailand sucks " threads and yet everyone ignores it , as I am sure this one will be ignored also. So I am lead to believe that this is not an "Thailand is bad" issue, but rather one of "We are so much better than the Thais" and since it is a bias, all contrary information will be ignored. I am not saying this to be mean to you and to single you out. I am sure you are a nice guy, and if you were my neighbored we would be good friends, confirmation bias is very common condition experienced by most humans equally. -
My marriage is heading south. Dont know what to do.
sirineou replied to advancebooking's topic in Marriage and Divorce
From the OP it seems that the child get's almost 8 hours of sleep. Perhaps not the adeal 10 hours the OP would like it to get, but adequate by most standards. So the question is. What would be more advantageous to the child? a little more sleep? of a healthy family structure? Is the OP contemplating divorce because of the child? or is it because there might be other issues? I am thinking that there might be other issues also. A person does not leave a wife he loves because a child only gets adequate sleep and not the ideal. So the final thought is. Would getting a divorce ,if the stated reason was the only reason be better for the child? or would it be much worsts for the child? -
Extra account for retirement visa?
sirineou replied to jethro69's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I was commingling funds in a bank account and last extension for an oversitem the balance in it, dropped below 400k for a day or two a few days at the beginning of months required for the extension. So even though we showed a significantly larger balance all year, it was no can do. It was explained at our local IO that they were not the ones who did the extension, the paperwork was send to a regional IO for approval and they will fail the application and their office will be represented for sending them an application that did not meet the requirements. The manager at the IO suggested that I simply overstay for a couple of days and by such time the funds would have been in the bank for the three months required. I asked if I would get in any trouble , she said not to worry she was the one who handled overstays , and it was only a few days, there will only be a small fine. So I did the overstay and we did the extension no problem. But the experience taught me a lesson. Now I have a dedicated account with no debit card. where the 400k is kept year around . I might be a bit more concerned if it was 800k, but 400k is not a very big amount, and also has the added peace of mind of knowing that if needed that money is always there. As I said I might feel differently if it was 800k -

That, and perhaps not ride motorbikes and if you do wear helmets. But since most of us don't ride motorbike as the sole means of transportation , not much to worry about. -

Can you post a picture of the structure you want to move? Below I will try to explain the challenges of moving a concrete , column and beam structure, I hope I explain more than I confuse, The crane you show in the picture has certain limitations. Notice the outriggers. They extend on the sides and lower to the ground to stabilize the rig. . It can not move while it is lifting. . The wheels on it are there only to drive it to the job site, It does not drive while it is lifting, unless it is a very light load. .The way these cranes move things is by rotating , changing the angle of the boom , and extending the boom. Rotating is problematic if more than one cranes are attached to the load, changing the angle and or the length of the boom , can only occurs with in the Center of Gravity (CG)range for that particular weight. A steel structure can handle loads at different vectors . Compression, tension ,torsion, and shear, A concrete structure has relatively high compressive strength (resists breaking, when squeezed), but significantly lower tensile , Shear and torsional strength. So , If more than one cranes are used in moving a concrete beam and column structure and the limitations in motion are overcome we are still faced with the stability of the load while it is being moved. It must be kept perfectly level to maintain compresion (straight of concrete) and limit tension, shear and torsion (weaknesses), a difficult proposition while coordinating multiple cranes over rough ground.

I was about to say that. When I reset my VPN I often have issues with Thai websites and conversely with US sites if I forget to set the GPS to the US PS: later on in the tread I see that you dont have a VPN. Perhaps you have an antiviruses and your security settings restrict some websites

How many Baht bushes are in Pattaya? I honestly don't know , but I am willing to bet that they will not even put a dent in the pollution problem , Probably counteract two or three people burning trash. I am a big proponent of the electrification of our transportation system, but this IMO is political grandstanding and lip service. If they want to reduce emissions they should implement a program subsidising EV purchases.

Biden’s unhinged ideas of Supreme Court and our Constitution
sirineou replied to Social Media's topic in World News
A systematic dismantling of the country IMO Unlike other countries that derive their cohesion from an ethnic identity, the US being an immigrant country with many ethnicities, for the most part, derived it's cohesion from a common trust on it's institutions. These institutions are being systematically undermined, and usurped by mercenary private interests. Biden is right to be concerned about the Supreme Court !! The Supreme court is the final arbiters of the constitutionality and implementation of the rules and regulation that govern all other institutions, We see how trust in many of our institutions have eroded , with many not trusting the elections, the police , our scientists, etc. But we always trusted the Supreme court to keep the rascals on track. With cases like the citizens united corporate personhood decision, Clarence Thomas ethics violations etc, The trust in the final arbiter is also eroded and IMO the final nail in the coffin, of the Union. It was Abraham Lincoln who quoting Mark 3:25 said "A house divided against itself cannot stand. " -
