  1. From Pattaya One News Yesterday....

Suspected Thief angry over accusations made by local media.

On Wednesday a story was published by some local media companies regarding a man accused of a bag snatch. Khun Surichart aged 29 confessed to the theft and also confessed to luring women to his room, having sex with them and stealing items from them. It was reported by one local media outlet that the man, who confirmed he is HIV Positive, would lie to woman including High Society Women that he was a Prince from the Middle East. We spoke with Khun Surichart who is angry over these claims and told us that he only targeted prostitutes working on the Beach. Khun Surichart who was incarcerated on Wednesday was led from the cells on Thursday Morning to make an official complaint to Police Lieutenant Colonel Chanapat, the Deputy Chief of Pattaya Police about the story which was published on Wednesday. The Deputy Chief confirmed that the details regarding the targeting of High Society Women was not correct and detail regarding him impersonating a Prince from the Middle East was also not correct and both details were not included on the Police Report, however he did confirm that Khun Surichart was a repeat offender. It was suggested to Khun Surichart that he pursue the case and consult a lawyer which is now under consideration by him at this time.

    You must be joking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:o:D

  2. I seem to find that the Mom & Pop shops or those one off little stores in a condo building that have some really original name like 6/12 sell only munted up cans of coke.

Is this stuff coming out the back door or what? if so, surly there is some farang there to make sure the binned stuff stays in the bin.

I am getting "bored" hunting through the <deleted> freezer to source a can that does not need to go to a panel shop.

Should i go back to my own country?

interested to know your thoughts on this.....

Try another shop - back in your own country!! :o

  3. When they first put up the advertising banners last year there was a McDonalds drive thru depicted on the picture - would have been in the car park area adjacent to Sukhumvit. Now regardless what you think of McD's as a foodstuff, i guarantee that would have packed the place.

The whole area around the Chaiyapruek crossroads is starting to "build up", and it is not that far directly down to the beach, i hope for them it starts to pick up. Who knows, maybe a McD's will arrive in time???

  4. Aussie Housewife

    >

    >

    > Sheila, the Aussie housewife, got out of the shower and slipped on the

    > bathroom floor. Instead of falling over forwards or backwards, she did

    > the splits and suctioned-cupped herself to the floor.

    >

    > She yelled out for her husband, "Bruce! Bruce!"

    > Bruce came running in.

    >

    > "Bruce, I've bloody suctioned myself to the floor," she said.

    > "S'truth," Bruce said, and tried to pull her up. "You're stuck fast

    > girl! I'll go across the road and get me mate."

    > They came back and they both tried to pull her up.

    > "No way, we can't do it," Cobber said, "so let's try Plan B."

    >

    > "Plan B," exclaimed Bruce, "what's that?"

    > "I'll go home and get my hammer and chisel and we'll break the tiles

    > under her," replied Cobber.

    > "Spot on," Bruce said, "while you're doing that, I'll stay here and

    > play with her nipples."

    >

    > "Play with her nipples?," Cobber said, "Not exactly a good time for

    > that mate!"......

    .....

    > "No," Bruce replied, "but I reckon if I can get her wet enough, we can

    > slide her into the kitchen where the tiles are less expensive"

  5. Sorry dont have the numbers, but if you go up to the Pattaya Sports Stadium on Chaiyapruek 2, you will see some people getting tuition most days (they use the huge car park!), some of the cars and pick ups have the phone numbers on them. :o

  6. Something must be jinxed about that site, never been busy even when it was the Herb Garden Resort. Is it because it is close to an intersection or what?

In contrast, the Floating market about 1km south of there is packed out 7 days a week?

  7. We used Na Jomtien Animal Hospital for exact same procedure, perfect, no problems, we have used this vet for all our dogs needs for a number of years now without fault, highly recommended.

On Sukhumvit about 200m south of Underwater world on the same side.

  8. Hi

I know a company that will be starting Condo Auctions in Bangkok Next Month.

Properties will be at around 50 % below Market value.

Please PM me for Further Details on attending the Auction or Listing your property

    Thanks

    Boater

Do you mean properties will start the bidding at 50% of their listed price??, because in an auction you will not know what they sell for until the hammer drops??

  9. If you go into the banks and ask you can get a catalouge of upcoming property auctions, but the auctions are spread over 4 seperate days in 4 separate locations (K-bank anyway), and you would need to attend all 4 to secure the property of your choice.

The catalouges are in Thai but you will get the idea!

K bank website also has them listed but again only in Thai, strangely their website used to have it in English too.

    Good luck.

  10. Help Help! :o

    I'm new here. Just move...

and I'm looking for a puppy. (May be Shihuahua or Pomeranion)

This morning I drove around Pattaya but didn't find any so who can tell me where??? :D

    Please please :D:D

    Thanks

I know of one pet shop on the ground floor of The Avenue shopping mall - but I am sure there are more. Thepprasit and Naklua markets also have someone selling puppies.

Avoid buying puppies from the markets at all costs!!!! The pup's are always far too young to be sold and are prone to bad health and disease.

Try one of the dog shelters first either Tony's or the one at Laem Chabang, then try the temples, then look at adopting a street / stray dog, at the very last - only if you must, go to a breeder / pet shop.

Lots and Lots of good dogs looking for homes.

  11. I understand that the rain burst in Pattaya and surrounding areas three days ago was caused by a fleet of Thai men in aircraft, casting out their 'seed' to induce rainfall, and it worked. I am somewhat of a sceptic, is this really possible?

It created a great inconvenience to me, because I wanted to mow the lawn, and before I knew it, the Thai men up above had soaked my lawns with their 'seed'.

They have been doing it in Thailand for years Syd, seeding the atmosphere with silver nitrate - interfering with nature, it will all end in tears i tell ya!!!!! :o

  12. What guarantee will the builder give in writing that for his part he will maintain the development for three years and put all your money into a sinking fund with audited accounts available for inspection every six months?

From what we know of this man so far, there will be no guarantee. He has a few outstanding legal issues which will probably stop him ever honouring anything

Really does not sound like the type of "village" you should be buying into, plenty others!!

  13. If you look along Sukhumvit you will see trucks for hire of various sizes parked at the side of the road with signs displaying their phone numbers, just stop and ask them, some do transport only, others will assist with the furniture, and they are not expensive. A freind of mine had a snooker table delivered to Ban Chang from south pattaya and it was only 1500 Bt. :o

  14. A fitting quote from the Pattaya forum courtesy of rayong09.

"Some people will follow the sheep to what suits them at the time to make them fit in. A wise man will make his own decisions, an ignorant man follows public forum opinion."

    Amen to that! :D

Better still " Every man for himself " I would be suprised if too many people would make an investment decision based on a Public Forum , IMO what it does deliver is food for thought , from there everyone must go ahead and do their own research and make up their own mind .

Yes indeed ray - fully agree :o

but it just leaves me with the question why in that

case LennyW comes out with this classic statement after posting so many " advertorials "

in support of the property market ....................

Look back at his posts and you can see he was obviously hoping to influence many " ignorant men " :D

No advertorials from me Midas, only my opinions which i am entitled to, by the way, although you say "there is a very simple answer," youv'e never actually answered my question yet....

    QUOTE (midas @ 2009-02-17 16:07:17) post_snapback.gif

If you like I am the Batman of the condominium market making sure Jokers like zorro don't influence

too many poor retiree's to rush in and make some premature and wrong decisions - " Caveat Emptor " and all that :D

And do you think anyone seriously in the market for property in Thailand pays any attention to your ramblings Midas?? :D

  15. You must understand that it is not the Baht that is high / strong, it is the foreign currencies that are weak!

"When to lower it like most western countries have done, would make Thai goods so much cheaper to the outside world"

Surely you are not suggesting that the government manipulate the value of the baht?? :o

  16. It is a simple and inexpensive process to get land subdivided into new chanotes by the Land Office. This is sometimes the best route so you can determine the size and shape of each plot you want.

As the above poster says, look at the existing chanotes you are being offered to determine the size and shape, remember road access too etc, if they are not so good best you go with the single chanote and subdivide later.

Last time i subdivided a 3.5 rai plot into 5 seperate chanotes it came to around 9000 baht, so not expensive for the desired result.

  17. That's my (narrow) grasp of the market, but from what I hear from friends, it's not much better for them... I don't mind shooting the breeze about the condo market here in LOS, but when it comes down to a pissing contest (like the thread which has now become "zorro vs. midas"), it's kinda boring. And it's all talk unless there is some proof, which is why I posted a pic of my chanote, indicating 'cash paid, deal done.' Short of coming over to my house and looking at my chanote and bank statements, that's all I can do...

My " pissing contest " with zorro is only about provoking thought and ultimately to invoke

would be buyers to ask themselves - HOLD ON THERE - Could prices go lower this time around?

If you like I am the Batman of the condominium market making sure Jokers like zorro don't influence

too many poor retiree's to rush in and make some premature and wrong decisions - " Caveat Emptor " and all that :o

And do you think anyone seriously in the market for property in Thailand pays any attention to your ramblings Midas?? :D

  18. There is not one dirty word in it, and it is funny....

The Smiths were unable to conceive children and decided to use a surrogate father to start their family. On the day the proxy father was to arrive, Mr. Smith kissed his wife goodbye and said, 'Well, I'm off now. The man should be here soon.'

Half an hour later, just by chance, a door-to-door baby photographer happened to ring the doorbell, hoping to make a sale. 'Good morning, Ma'am', he said, 'I've come to...'

'Oh, no need to explain,' Mrs. Smith cut in, embarrassed, 'I've been expecting you.'

'Have you really?' said the ph otographer. 'Well, that's good. Did you know babies are my specialty?'

'Well that's what my husband and I had hoped. Please come in and have a seat'.

After a moment she asked, blushing, 'Well, where do we start?'

'Leave everything to me. I usually try two in the bathtub, one on the couch and perhaps a couple on the bed. And sometimes the living room floor is fun. You can really spread out there.'

'Bathtub, living room floor? No wonder it didn't work out for Harry and me!'

'Well, Ma'am, none of us can guarantee a good one every time. But if we try several different positions and I shoot from six or seven angles, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results.'

'My, that's a lot!', gasped Mrs. Smith.

'Ma'am, in my line of work a man has to take his time. I'd love to be In and out in five minutes, but I'm sure you'd be disappointed with that.'

'Don't I know it,' said Mrs. Smith quietly.

The photographer opened his briefcase and pulled out a portfolio of his baby pictures. 'This was done on the top of a bus,' he said.

'Oh, my word!' Mrs. Smith exclaimed, grasping at her throat.

'And these twins turned out exceptionally well - when you consider their mother was so difficult to work with.'

'She was difficult?' asked Mrs. Smith.

'Yes, I'm afraid so. I finally had to take her to the park to get the job done right. People were crowding around four and20five deep to get a good look'

'Four and five deep?' said Mrs. Smith, her eyes wide with amazement.

'Yes', the photographer replied 'and for more than three hours, too. The mother was constantly squealing and yelling - I could hardly concentrate, and when darkness approached I had to rush my shots. Finally, when the squirrels began nibbling on my equipment, I just had to pack it all in.'

Mrs. Smith leaned forward. 'Do you mean they actually chewed on your, uh...equipment?'

'It's true, Ma'am, yes.. Well, if you're ready, I'll set-up my tripod and we can get to work right away.'

    'Tripod?'

'Oh yes, Ma'am. I need to use a tripod to rest my Canon on. It's much too big to be held in the hand for very long.'

    Mrs. Smith fainted.....
