Clarification on Retirement Visa
Upnotover replied to Slinky1958's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you already have a non-O for your first extension ("retirement") you will need to show 800k in the bank. Later years you can switch to 65k/month if you want to. Not sure what the UK has to do with any of this. Or you could just extend based on marriage., 400k. -

Seriously? You mean a different "Officer" not "Office". Maybe she was on her period. -
Travel Fake TDAC Website Emerges as New System Debuts in Thailand
Upnotover replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The site shown is not a "fake". It even states it is a third party service, albeit an unnecessary one. If you don't want to pay just do it yourself. Every country I go to has these sites pop up when searching for e-visa sites, it's not hard to work out.- 57 replies

You might want to step back and clarify your question a bit. -

Report retirement extension CW - bank method
Upnotover replied to cormanr7's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Did mine at the exact same desk on Tuesday. 1pm appointment meant no doc check, straight to the IO. I had more documents than you, TM30, lease, 90 day receipt, etc. They didn't give anything back but if they were really needed I've no clue. After I was dismissed by the IIO I waited over an hour. But the girl in the back was overloaded with people returning from earlier mooring sessions, at least I think that was the issue. -

Immigration Thailand Digital Arrival Card. TDAC
Upnotover replied to CharlieH's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I'd put the country the arriving flight came from. But suspect at the end of the day it is of no consequence. -
Immigration Thailand Digital Arrival Card. TDAC
Upnotover replied to CharlieH's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I'm pretty sure I saw an answer to this or similar question already. The flight on the TDAC is the flight you arrive on. That's all you need to do. If asked for a boarding pass that is the one you will show. You can fit 10 characters in the flight number field so you could cram 2 flights in there, but for what purpose? -
Crime Taxi Driver Blocks Ambulance, Leading to Patient’s Death in Patong
Upnotover replied to Georgealbert's topic in Phuket News
I have noticed 2 changes in driving here over the past 20 years. 1). People will now use the car horn out of annoyance - initially I was always surprised by the lack of outward irritation displayed. And 2). willingness to give way to emergency vehicles. Never used to happen. But just today I was on an exit from the expressway and an ambulance was approaching from behind. The bus next to my taxi and the taxi itself amongst others made substantial efforts to make room for the ambulance. I find it positive. -
CW Retirement Extension Today...
Upnotover replied to Upnotover's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I had a 1pm appointment and was seen exactly on time. But I could see that pre-lunch people were returning to complete the process which is likely the cause of the delay as the girl at the back was getting swamped. -
CW Retirement Extension Today...
Upnotover replied to Upnotover's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes I did. All was taken, if needed or not I cannot say. Sounds like I was lucky last year, not that it really matters but next time I wont book the re-entry appointment. -
CW Retirement Extension Today...
Upnotover posted a topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No issues with documents, all the same as normal. But whereas last year the process took less than 30 minutes today it was 1 hour 40. Last year the entire process from documents to stamp was handled by one person. This year that person did the initial part of the process, checking all the documents and taking the 1900 baht, then handed everything to the girl behind her and told me to wait, which I duly did. Eventually another assistant chap called my name and I was good to go. Three people instead of one. Not that I am that bothered but I missed my appointment for a re-entry and no way was I queuing for that as that also took 90 minutes last year - I'll get one at the airport next week. Which process is normal I have no idea, I'm guessing it's just an example of consistent inconsistency as applies to many things. -

retirement visa deposit
Upnotover replied to drkenchso's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Provided you can withdraw money instantly it ought not be a problem, apart from your loss of interest. (might be an idea to post this in the right place for better response).
