  1. Gawd help us. All they have done is confirm the basis of your application. You will get a normal tourist visa.
  2. I guess he's been reading the news reports on this incident that have been posted on this forum in the last day or so. All of the details mentioned have been in them.
  3. Seems a blank page accurately answers the question. Can't see any issue here at all.
  4. Since records began? When was that then, that they started measuring confidence on the well known 0-200 scale? Can't spell Soapies.
  5. Cover for what? COVID cover is already required for entry.
  6. I am guessing the no-test requirement comes from the days when the Embassy was arranging repatriation flights and tests were indeed not required for Thais. There is still no requirement for a test to get the COE however the London website states; Please check with the airline you are traveling to if there are any other specific requirements, such as a negative COVID-19 test (no virus), otherwise you may be denied boarding. You'll find this in the Thai language page for returning Thais. https://london.thaiembassy.org/th/content/ขั้นตอนการกลับประเทศไทยของคนไทย?page=5f4b6330342f2d1f4c6c40a4&menu=5f4b652c522bf45dc44cda62
  7. You got a 1 year entry on November 11, that is what you are extending, the visa expiry date is irrelevant.
  8. Because it's much more fun to have a bunch of random irrelevant replies before finally someone enters "Shopee IC number" into Google and instantly gets the right answer.
  9. "Halving" obviously means something else in these parts.
  10. You don't "hand in" your passport when renewing so you could just apply for a new one and transfer the stamps when you receive it.
  11. From 4 October the accepted vaccinations are expanded as below. See also (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/red-amber-and-green-list-rules-for-entering-england) Thailand remains off the list. Travel from the rest of the world if you are fully vaccinated From 4am Monday 4 October, if you have been fully vaccinated for at least 14 days: under an approved vaccination program in the UK, Europe, US or UK vaccine programme overseas with a full course of the Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna or Janssen vaccines from a relevant public health body in Australia, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Bahrain, Brunei, Canada, Dominica, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea or Taiwan – mixing between two-dose vaccines (Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna) in this list is also recognised under a formally approved COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial in the US, Canada and Australia and have a proof of participation (digital or paper-based) from a public health body
  12. Indeed. But the purpose of my post was in response to the topic of this thread.
  13. Here are the updated requirements for vaccination to enter the UK (England); Travel from the rest of the world if you are fully vaccinated From 4am Monday 4 October, if you have been fully vaccinated for at least 14 days: under an approved vaccination program in the UK, Europe, US or UK vaccine programme overseas with a full course of the Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna or Janssen vaccines from a relevant public health body in Australia, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Bahrain, Brunei, Canada, Dominica, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea or Taiwan – mixing between two-dose vaccines (Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna) in this list is also recognised under a formally approved COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial in the US, Canada and Australia and have a proof of participation (digital or paper-based) from a public health body You must: book and pay for a day 2 COVID-19 test – to be taken after arrival in England complete your passenger locator form – any time in the 48 hours before you arrive in England take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2 after you arrive in England You do not need to: take a pre-departure test take a day 8 COVID-19 test quarantine at home or in the place you are staying for 10 days after you arrive in England You must be able to prove that you have been fully vaccinated (plus 14 days) with a document (digital or paper-based) from a national or state-level public health body that includes, as a minimum: forename and surname(s) date of birth vaccine brand and manufacturer date of vaccination for every dose country or territory of vaccination and/or certificate issuer If your document from a public health body does not include all of these, you must follow the non-vaccinated rules. If not, you may be denied boarding. If you are fully vaccinated in the US, will also need to prove that you are a resident of the US. If you are fully vaccinated, but do not qualify under these fully vaccinated rules, you must follow the non-vaccinated rules.
  14. At this moment Thailand is on the red list so you need to pay for hotel quarantine on arrival. Details for England are here; https://www.gov.uk/guidance/red-amber-and-green-list-rules-for-entering-england Your vaccinations aren't recognised in the UK. The rules are changing today, so check for updates in the next few hours or so.
  15. It's a visa exempt entry, not visa on arrival. Yes, it is currently available. It's currently 45 days to compensate for the 15 night ASQ. There is no 6 month visa. What kind of extension do you intend to get?
  16. I think they are telling you they can't/wont transfer GBP to a GBP foreign currency account in Thailand. A regular bank can do that of course if that is what you want.
  17. That is because a Wise transfer is a domestic transfer as far as BKK Bank is concerned, not a transfer from a UK bank.
  18. The CHAPS fee Is £20. Not worth worrying about. Its the difference in rates you need to focus on.
  19. Assuming Nationwide will actually send GBP then the Bangkok Bank T/T rate today is 44.94, 1% worse than the WISE rate. There will also be some small charges to receive the transfer. I reckon you'll be about THB 12-15k worse off using Nationwide.
  20. 3. SCB SWIFT code is SICOTHBKXXX. Thai bank accounts do not have IBAN's. 4. The first 3 digits of your account number indicate the branch where the account is held (like a sort code does). WISE has a THB 2M limit so would need 3 transfers. How easy/costly it is to get the money out of HL you'll have to check with them. Whatever you do make sure you don't send THB from the UK.
  21. Guessing; 2. In other words, Match Points 3. Break Point
