Had some a few weeks back. If it's worth paying extra for I doubt but after a 3 hour minibus ride with way too many singing women women aboard it was about as good as it gets. And I like the bottle.
I reckon I'd be approaching the embassy as the first step, perhaps they can issue an emergency travel document and then the airport waltz is potentially an option?

You still have to be in the country where you apply for the e-visa. So you still get your trip without having to go to an embassy/consulate. Now't wrong with that.
I use my "Elder" card and still get the discount. And I've topped it up since the new rules came in. Maybe it'll just keep working until it, or I, expire.
Actually it has changed a little. You now make an appointment online at VFS. The email address is still there only if you have problems with that system. I haven't tried so have no idea if it works well or not but hopefully better than the old choice of 3 system.
"directly to Ekkamai bus station via Skytrain"
Directly would not be my choice of description! Assuming you are planning red line to Bang Sue, then MRT to Sukhumvit, then changing to BTS Asok - there is a Superrich at Asok, you'll walk past it on the way to the ticket machines. If I wasn't travelling light I'd be in a taxi!
For UK visa they are here;
