  1. You mean by not changing the period during which the visa exempt entry was temporarily increased to 45 days? It was always due to end on March 31 and it did. You did rather well not to have read any of the news items in the past several weeks/months on this subject.
  2. That message is the machine readable message. If you enter everything manually you can progress to the next page, sounds like it's working fine to me. "Biodata Page of Passport We were unable to retrieve data from the MRZ. Please enter your passport’s biographic information manually."
  3. I was referring to the machine readable section of the passport which the form reads and self populates. The photo uploaded without any problems.
  4. Just for fun (I am easily amused) I went through an application. No problem uploading the passport photo (1.5MB jpeg). The one error message that did occur was that it could not read the data and it needed manually entering - I am sure in the past the data has been automatically read and inserted in the form.
  5. Of course, and they would want to show their Thai passports then as that is what they will use to enter the country, avoiding silly questions about onward tickets, visas, etc.
  6. Gov.uk says the following, which seems to apply; RIGHT OF ABODE IN THE UNITED KINDOM – NOTE FOR BRITISH CITIZENS All British Citizens have the right of abode in the United Kingdom. If, as a British Citizen, you wish to travel on a non-British passport it must be endorsed to show that you have the right of abode. Otherwise, you might experience difficulty proving your right to be re-admitted to the United Kingdom. Certificates of entitlement to the right of abode are issued by the Home Office to applicants to the United Kingdom and by the appropriate British representative to applicants abroad. A fee is payable in both cases. Certificates can only be issued to someone who does not have a British passport or identity card describing them as a British citizen or British subject with right of abode. A certificate will cease to be valid once the passport it is attached to expires and cannot be transferred from one passport to another.
  7. You will presumably write a supporting letter and in that you can outline the travel plans and where the funding is coming from. If hotels will be used then explain so as you have done above. The finance is of course more important, hotels can be booked and cancelled on a whim and booking one proves absolutely nothing.
  8. She should demonstrate that she has somewhere to stay but does not need to show bookings and certainly not flight bookings, I also think it is specifically mentioned somewhere not to do this. 3 or 4 successful visas for my wife, all without bookings.
  9. Confusion, half truths, mixed messages and "misunderstandings" are all part of the charm of Thainess.
  10. Not long ago I used Grab from DMK to a Sukhumvit hotel. The app told me to wait outside a specific exit door. I had the make & reg. of the car and could see it approaching on the app's map. When it arrived I got in, few words were spoken or needed, he already knew where to take me. All good.
  11. I guess they don't need to officially confirm what they officially announced in the first place, unless it changes.
  12. Yep, like answering the phone to numbers you don't know, answering the door to unexpected callers.....don't.
  13. To be fair, they did have some assistance from the finder posting it on fayboo.
  14. If you go again it's worth noting that enabling roaming to receive SMS's costs precisely zero. Don't confuse it with data roaming which is far from free, neither is receiving or making phone calls.
  15. If not the only thing obvious is a failure to enable roaming on your phone.
  16. At least in the case of the DLT they look for a Non-immigrant visa, which a non-OA is, so it's equal in that case. * 2. PASSPORT WITH NON-IMMIGRANT VISA (ORIGINAL AND PHOTO COPY) "
  17. I think the bank already told you what to do, can't imagine any other answer.
  18. How about his immigration status? A hospital visit might lead to further problems. I had a friend in very similar circumstances who always said when things got to this stage that would be the end of it. It was.
  19. Only in Pattaya will you be described as "well dressed" simply by wearing a t-shirt.
  20. If you have an unused visa you can enter on it before it expires and get 90 days. If you have an extension of stay (with a re-entry permit) you can enter on it and get until the end date on the permit. Renewal will depend on what you actually have and if you meet the requirements, i.e. 800k in the bank for a new extension.
  21. My personal experiences are limited to Bangkok where I have failed 100% to get a Bolt response whereas always managed a Grab, albeit at higher prices. Girls of my acquaintance however seem exclusively to use Bolt for their motorbike needs without an issue.
