  1. Not likely as the 1 month under consideration period is pretty much a standard feature.
  2. No, it's a nonsense monument celebrating a non-event.
  3. If anybody knows, how long after expiry of a 5 year license can it be renewed without too much trouble (Bangkok), I'm not interested in doing actual tests. I've been told 1 year and I've been told 5 years but would like to make sure one way or the other before making plans. Mine expired in 2021. I do have a valid UK license.
  4. I like the "Opus One" website, you don't "buy" their wine, you "acquire" it. Pretentious....moi?
  5. You won't find out until you try. It's unpredictable and you'll have as many people tell you you don't need one as will tell you you do. Only way to be certain is buy or rent an onward ticket.
  6. To be fair, riding it on the pavement would be a non starter.
  7. They are the normal, large immigration zones. The fast-track/priority lane is on the right side as you go up the ramp. The signage for the dedicated fast-track area (between the 2 main zones) is still there, as is the area itself as it still operates for a lot of people, just not business and first class.
  8. It has been reported on here countless times that the 2/year restriction is gone, including within these 17 pages....
  9. More likely the "visa" is expired/used and what he has is an extension of stay (and associated re-entry permit). Semantics perhaps but it's just as easy to use the correct terminology as not.
  10. With a re-entry permit neither the airline or immigration will want to see an onward ticket. No issues.
  11. Not without a 90 day report in Bangkok. Given the problems you will face getting a CoR in Bangkok I'd be inclined to have your wife buy the car. She can always transfer it to you later when you get settled.
  12. The "issue" is quite clear. You have a real credit card, the OP doesn't. Nothing wrong with either, horses for courses.
  13. Bell bus (190 baht) to BKK then free shuttle to DMK.
  14. Then extend for retirement. As long as you have no problem keeping 800/400/800k in the bank at all times it's the easy solution.
  15. .....or avoid all the buggering about here and get the non-O before you come.....can't see what the issue is (besides the incorrect information on the embassy site).
  16. Yes it is wrong, see my post above, i did it.
  17. Yes it is. Over 50 you can get it with 800k in the bank, Thailand or GBP equivalent in the UK. I know for sure, I did it in February.
  18. As a side note, it is very easy and quick to get the non-O in the UK before leaving. That saves a trip to immigration and also avoids any onward ticket questions.
  19. ....which no sooner than it appeared it's gone. Glitch.
  20. Is it only me or is this a new and improved feature here?
  21. I have never been asked at immigration but have often been asked in the UK at check-in. It's not a return that is needed, only an outbound ticket. Probably with your return ticket you would be fine, but if you intend to extend and stay in Thailand a simple outbound ticket somewhere nearby (cheap) would suffice. Or a rent-a-ticket if you can be bothered with that.
