  1. I have never been asked at immigration but have often been asked in the UK at check-in. It's not a return that is needed, only an outbound ticket. Probably with your return ticket you would be fine, but if you intend to extend and stay in Thailand a simple outbound ticket somewhere nearby (cheap) would suffice. Or a rent-a-ticket if you can be bothered with that.
  2. All the flights I've booked recently have been by my card, for others, both domestic and international in and out of Thailand, never been a problem for any of the travellers at check-in. The last international flight was a "get out of jail" flight for a young lady denied entry at BKK, no problems with that one either.
  3. Which is fine for the ongoing extensions but no use for the initial non-O if applying in Thailand, as appears to be the OP's original intention.
  4. No, they all offer credit cards but only (mainly) to those working in Thailand, i.e. those that can have a credit rating. Tourists need not apply.
  5. Presumably, as he says, he thought it started in June. No mystery here.
  6. She already has that, it's on her ID card.
  7. Guess he could ask her but in the meantime she can use her ID
  8. No. If the booking site gives you options choose one, if not it's not needed and it is certainly not part of her name.
  9. It's easy, I do it all the time. Copy the name (in English) from her ID or passport. Miss or Mrs is irrelevant. And they will not care who paid, i.e. not ask to see the paying bank card.
  10. If you don't have a Thai license already you certainly wont be getting and IDP.
  11. I get a similar experience with regular undercharging in my local pub. Server takes order, wanders past cashier telling her what I've ordered, then server goes and fetches my order. I used to point out the missing beers at the end of my visit, never got any positive reaction, only a new correct bill. Not a problem to me but I've given up telling them as it's their system that fails every time. Some of the servers though have now taken to asking me when I get my bill at the end if it is correct or not, I suspect I have gained a negative reputation by trying to help them out.
  12. House in her name? She can register with the online system and report your presence.
  13. Search here.... XWG6+MR Pattaya City, Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri, Thailand
  14. Nonsense, they will take money from anyone who is unable to understand what they are doing with their phone.
  15. And only one letter different. Makes you wonder why they are not Icish or Irelandic.
  16. He was Icelandic yesterday in the same story in BP.
  17. As you don't need the consulate then Chong Mek would be a closer crossing to Ubon. And if you fancied a couple of nights somewhere Pakse is a nice place to hang out.
  18. That sign is normally seen on roads/paths that could otherwise take motorised transport to indicate that it is only for walking and cycling, i.e. no motorbikes. Quite how useful it is on a Thai pavement I have some doubts.
  19. She can't get a re-entry on her return so option 1 is out. So it's an easy choice - not sure what "fine" you think she may have to pay as she won't have done anything wrong, although will have to start the piggy back process all over.
  20. Fake OP and story but that's funny anyway. They change their names as easily as their underwear.
  21. Well that was actually my point, it makes the whole experience more rewarding.
