  1. I think you won't have to worry about Khanom for a while as if you turn up there with your agent procured extension and no bank book nothing good can happen. So let them get the extension and deal with the 90 day reports and when your year is up go to Laos, get your 800k and come back exempt and get a non-O where you actually are living.
  2. I made a payment 2 days ago via 2c2p. My card is registered in Google so my bank get's a nudge from them before the actual payment request is made by 2c2p. The OTP message comes from the card, but maybe the Google nudge kind of wakes up the system? I get 3 alternative OTP choices from my Wise card, I always use the app rather than SMS but I guess you only have one choice with your card. Might be worth adding it to Google?
  3. You don't apply in London, it's an e-Visa. As for residence, if you have anything that suggests you are legally there there it ought not be a problem, I think they are wanting only people physically in the country to apply.
  4. They are on foodpanda, check prices there.
  5. You are supposed to be resident in the UK. So where will they send it if you are not? But I don't recall any address evidence being needed when I last did it so if you still can receive the new license at the address on the old one then ought to be no issue, and likely even with a new address easy enough. But one thing is sure, they wont send it to Thailand.
  6. It's been a changing situation of late - most reports suggest a balance of 400k (or equivalent) is being asked. LA consulate states; Recent bank statement showing the applicant's name and ending balance of no less than $15,000 or proof of monthly income of not less than $1,500/month) along with the current bank statement showing incoming income If they will accept anything other than a bank account I think you will only find out when you try. A fallback position would be a tourist visa and extend in-country.
  7. It's an idea but don't forget to send your old passport to your mate so he can send it to HMPO. And maybe keep a copy of it here just in case immigration or anybody else have any need to see it while it's away, that's precisely why the system for replacement works as it does here as it's legally required to have or be able to at least access your actual passport at all times.
  8. It isn't.
  9. My personal experience was positive. Returning to the UK after 11 years I registered with a GP within a week, and she referred me to a cardiologist for a check up in order that my surgery performed in Thailand was somehow in "the system". If I was returning permanently was never asked but I think a returning citizen meets the ordinarily resident requirement pretty easily. Needless to say I didn't stay although at the time had no firm plans to do anything.
  10. Bizarre. I guess you know who your friends are. ?
  11. You seem to have answered your own question.
  12. Cars as well, fewer than going down the street but still enough to cause minor issues. Guess it will take a while to get known, or forgotten altogether.
  13. Just spent a couple of hours at Las Vegas watching the traffic in the rain. There was a plod a little up the street turning motorbikes back but he went when the rain set in. Then it became a 2 way street just as before. It would maybe be an idea to have the road markings in another language other than English.
  14. Read this to start with. https://www.passport.service.gov.uk/overseas/information/thailand/renew/adult
  15. ....and the aircon, it's a really nice environment all round.
  16. I recently opened an account at Kasikorn (Bangkok, Sukhumvit) with a non-O e-visa so it is certainly possible. Or failing that, as mentioned, use an agent
  17. I used Ban Laem several times. Never too busy, never any problems.
  18. As above no. It is the same non-O that you would get at immigration before you extend. Getting it at home saves you the trip to immigration, you'll only need 1 trip for the extension at the end of the 90 days entry you'll get.
  19. Yes, but this topic is about 7-11. You go and try it there and see.
  20. Yes, so you will need a new single non-O to restart the extension process. My suggestion is to get it in your country before leaving, that's precisely what I did recently, non-O single e-visa was granted in 4 days.
  21. Yes, or maybe better get the non-O before leaving. Easy to do online (in most countries) and saves the onward ticket nonsense as well as one trip to immigration. And I'm sure you already know to have THB 800k in the bank.
  22. At some point in the scan/pay process you will have the choice to change the account to be debited. In the case of KBank for example it is immediately after the scan. Have you checked what the default account is?
  23. Most likely the rule is everybody has to have ID rather than only checking age.
  24. Like comparing London with Blackpool, you pays your money you takes your choice....
