  1. Not in my experience, THB 75000 in 8 seconds on 3 March, from a UK Wise account. I suspect the destination bank may also influence the time taken, i.e. if other than Bangkok or Kasikorn it may take longer perhaps.
  2. Whether Thai or Lao there seems always a price to pay there. Crossing with my gf (Lao) she is asked for money both ways by Lao immigration, normally gets away with less than asked for as she tells them she pays a lower amount at Savannakhet. And I also make sure my US$ are crispy, guy seemed rather disappointed the last time. They also had a new irritating arrival/departure card thing for me to fill out, never asked for the departure half on the return leg though.
  3. Lazada calls them "elephant tung", if that makes any sense.
  4. ......easy for her to say.....
  5. Full set? In the UK will cost from THB100k up so seems a fair price.
  6. 20 Filipinos, "hundreds" of Thais and "just over 10" (11?) police. The outcome was inevitable.
  7. This was asked in the Pattaya section, different rules apply.
  8. I wouldn't be worried where the OP is going, I was riding a motorbike around the same area earlier this year and all the regular roads are fine, mostly better than many in the UK I must say.
  9. Applying for an e-visa you are supposed to be in the country in which you are claiming to be, and might need to show travel confirmation from that location to Thailand as well as some proof of residency.
  10. I suspect he knew this already.
  11. That normally happens when you have an incoming transfer that has been initiated but has not yet completed. But presumably your transfer was a single transaction?
  12. In the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) box you enter whatever the URL address is for the service you have subscribed. It will be something like http://xxx.xxx:80. Without this you wont get far.
  13. Would that be the official website or one of the many non-official ones? https://overseas.mofa.go.kr/nl-en/brd/m_6971/view.do?seq=761638
  14. The e-visa application gives you the choice, maybe Canberra are a little slow with their memo.
  15. Highly unlikely as that is not how Wise works. They don't move your dollars to Thailand, only pay locally an equivalent amount in THB.
  16. Yes he's right. I did mine there in December. Actually I used the VFS E-Extension service which pre-approves the extension and give an appointment which limits the time needed at the office, under an hour in both our cases.
  17. I did not need one in December extending a TR in Bangkok, although I had a copy in my bag if needed. But my other half did. So yes and no, I'd go with yes to be safe.
  18. Yes that is the correct website. Just start an application, you will soon get to the page where you find out that documents they want - depending on what type of visa you are applying for they require different things. One thing they will ask for is proof of your legal residency in Korea, if you are just visiting your passport and entry stamps might be sufficient although the website suggests you may need more..."For non-Korean nationals: a copy of Alien Registration Card front-back" The website deals with applications globally but each country's Embassy might ask for more information from you and of course can refuse to issue a visa if they are so inclined. You should print it, makes life a lot easier at check-in and immigration.
  19. Born in the UK? Already have a Thai birth certificate from the embassy? This website may be of use to you; https://www.thaicitizenship.com/thai-citizenship-when-born-overseas/
  20. Well it's got me beat, either that or I can't see for looking. Can you provide a link?
  21. You better had to mine, that way there is some chance she will understand what you are talking about.
