Well done that man! ha ha ha, well, they recon to drive a sidecar outfit, you need half your brain removed, and to passenger one, you need the other half removed AS WELL!!! :o This is true of most passengers i know!

  4. Excellent! So it goes as good as it looks - awesome! Mine was more show than go (77 T140V) and I'll try and find a print and scan it in. Got snow there now? My father in Dorset said schools were closed yesterday due to the white stuff - brrrr! A pleasant 25 or so and sunny here today! :o

    Cheers,

    Pikey.

    Mines a 77 T140V as well! (matching frame & engine no's)

I have just had a PM from the mods reminding me that i cant post links within my posts (my fault entirely!) but if you go to my profile, the link to my site is on there!

  5. Hey FF, welcome to the lounge (and thanks ZZ for setting it up). I think you made a typo mate as the 916 didn't emerge 'til 94 if I remember rightly?

Your Bonnie is a beaut - stunning! I built a similar one about 10 years ago. Bought a right piece-of-shit stolen recovered with a bent frame, did it up as a flat tracker with ally yokes, stainless guards, a 2-1 reverse cone megaphone and nice paint courtesy of my brother-in-law. Used to call in my "Fonzie bike". Not as pretty as yours though. Very well done!

    Cheers,

    Pikey.

    Yo Pikey,

you are right about my typo, it's a 96! the Triumph has a race tuned head & headers, it was built for flat track racing, so it would not run at low revs (no good for every day use!) so i made the mini mega's to get some back pressure and now it will tick over, goes like stink (when you can keep the front wheel on the ground!)

In my next life I hope I live on the Isle of Man....WOW you lucky lucky baaastard. That explains the duke in racing clothes.

I tried to follow you instructions above, I might be a bit of a dummy....CORRECTION, I am a bit of a dummy, if I go to the John McGuinness website, I cant find a members page. <deleted> have I done wrong. LOL :o

    Hey Neverdie,

The link i posted does not appear to come out in the post.... so, here it is again (Replace the blanks with dots)

  7. Wow, dam_n, another legend!!! Got to love all these beautiful bikes.....its definately a single mans world. Whadda ya keep in the bedroom mate? :o

That 916, did you own it from new, whaddya plan on doing with it?? 2500 miles, not much, couple of laps around the living room once a week?

Ha ha ha, i actually live on the Isle of Man, so it gets a lap of the TT course on extremely nice days, i have had the 916 from new, just love to look at it!

I also have a 1939 Excelsior with a hand change on the tank, nearly finished restoring it, i will post some pics when it's finished.

Also own John McGuinnes's R6 which lapped the TT in excess of 120mph, I have a young lad who rides for my race team on it! look at the link! go to the members page, click on someone, then go to gallery/pics loads of race photo's on there. I am the fat bloke driving the F2 sidecar outfit!

  9. Hardly bashing a business, mearly describing an experience, which I think is very valid, people use the internet allot before deciding where to eat, drink, holiday, live - so on, and then we as readers make our own intelligent decision as to wether to give these business' our hard earned cash. A hairdresser in Chiang Mai turned my hair blued yesterday, I will not "bash" their business but I will put my experience out there so that people can make up their own minds as to wether or not they wish to visit this salon. Its called "word of mouth" a practise that is been in operation for centuries, the only difference is that the internet reaches more people faster! Hurrah!

WOW! Blue hair AND vibrating knickers........ when can we meet? :o

I stayed at The Pub over Christmas & new year, it was a nice place to stay, and i found ALL of the staff friendly and helpful.

    FF

Te He! Meet you in the pub, I'll be the one with the blue hair and vibrating knickers, hopefully you'll be the one in the kilt with no knickers! We'll switch our phones to vibrate so's not to offend and mines a double vodka on the rocks, cheers!

hel_l Yes! i'm a vodka person as well! (LARGE)

  10. Unfortunately some foreign medias don't show the same understanding :

    Thailand defies UN over migrants

The UN Refugee Agency asked to see the detainees three days ago, but never received a response.

    ...

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has assured them illegal migrants will be treated humanely, but he appears to have little control over how the military deals with them.

The government admits it has had trouble getting information about these detainees from the local military units known to be holding them.

I think you will find that there are normally two sides to every story!

    FF

Only two ? Obviously you're new here.

Hmmmmmm, I should have said "I think you will find that there are at least two sides to every story!"

  13. It is easy to miss calls on silent and they could be important ones.

Exactly, I would never know my phone was ringing on silent unless it was in my knickers! :o

Vibrate mode may be the order of the day. me thinks :D

  14. I am aware (and a regular user) of Skype, thank you. However, from Skype's website FAQ's it says: Skype does not have a function to allow you to send or receive a fax.

But that was not the point. I just wanted to point out that in my case it is possible to have ADSL at the normal price without having a landline telephone number.

Cannot tell whether this would be the case for others as well though....

Skype it's self does not provide a fax utility, but there are several "add-on's" about.

  15. Moved to a new moo baan in Nong Hoy recently. No telephone numbers available for this area but I could get internet (have TT&T premier package now). Internet was for the normal price and I am very happy with it. Actually I do not really miss a telephone land line... the only thing I cannot do is send faxes from home but I can live without that.

get skype, low cost calls to land lines & mobiles, free skype to skype calls & you can send faxes/files etc.

  16. The government issued a court order to have the fog leave on its own volition or be forcibly removed from the airport. The fog ignored the court order and gained in strength. Troops were called in to expel the fog, however they chose not to. Thai airways is reporting a 900000000 billion baht loss due to the fog, and a number of posters on TV have demanded the goverment to immediately round up its leaders and prosecute them on terrorism charges.

    • Legend:
    • e = e-ticket option,
    • GBP = British Pound,

I did this same route at Christmas (with another carrier) for less than £1500.00 (Less than half price!)

    Price Travellers Flights Taxes

    1 adult(s) x (3,435.00 + 224.70) = 3,659.70 GBP (188,415.08 THB)

  18. Why is it that on the tee-shirt stealing thread a large number of posters are saying "no way would a swede do that, the confession must have been coerced, even if they did do it they must have been immigrants, not pure Swedes..." Yet a lot of posts on this thread are saying "he confessed therefore he's guilty, execute the murderer, it's what you'd expect from a Thai..." Racism? Lack of understanding? Not wanting to understand? Or just plain ignorance?

I think, possibly all of the above!
