  1. but this time not for a car.

I want to spray some decent but oldish wooden furniture (eg TV cabinet etc). Could do it myself but could take ages. I expect car shops could do (and any such recommendations appreciated) but any other suggestions please?

  2. try the better wood shops in Theppasit - good selections from both Wood R Us and MaiThai

FYI - a few years ago I bought 2 patio sets from Homepro and they too fell apart ("it's the way you used them" was the response) . After emailing all the Board I immediately got 50% back and not a credit either!

  3. Friends don't ask friends for help moving.

I've used Crown and they were great.

Same here, expensive but no issues at all!

Companies that have well trained staff, quality equipment, good customer service and insurance are generally worth more than companies that do not.

I guess it comes down to what one is moving and what it's worth to them.

stating the obvious but your final comment is correct ..... what is the stuff worth (value-wise or just personal/sentimental value) and that will determine what you will pay methinks

  4. This morning they were calling out the numbers from the 90day desk, which is now over on the other side of the room and has become desk number 3. Took me around 15 minutes this morning with ten numbers in front, so not so bad.

............... and who says Pattaya Immigration Officers don't read TV observations !

  5. I went there yesterday to do a 90 day report. It took longer than usual as they now seem to be entering everyone who wasn't already on it into their computer system. So I came away after 15 minutes with a bar-coded reporting slip in my passport and she gave me back all the usual documents I had taken with me. Hopefully this means that in future it will be even quicker and simpler with no more photocopies required.

They are still calling numbers out via a quietish PA system near the entrance, so that if there's much noise near you like a baby crying or people yakking into their cell phones then it's difficult to hear. Add to that the fact that a lot of the people doing 90 day reports are quite elderly and their hearing is often well past its best and they really do need to sort out the display boards again.

I also went yesterday (0820) and it took 55 minutes - just 2 Officers for 90 day service and one gentleman at counter 9 doing absolutely zilch (except choosing lottery tickets and drinking 2 mugs of something) for those 55 minutes.

Last time I was in & out in about 1 minute.

I wont hold my breath in June

  6. I've been looking for 45 sandals (size 11 UK) and very little choice even in Central. FINDIG had 2 of that size but both poor design & quality. Had to resort to a friend bringing some from UK in a few weeks. I feel sure BKK would have a good choice though

  7. pray tell me what do Wednesdays, weekends, public holidays, a drive south for lunch at Bang Saray, and heavy traffic going east-west today have to do with my original specific post about less traffic lights and less turns on Sukhumvit during a normal rush hour drive northwards ?

  8. drove north from Makro at about 0800 to BPH/Honda and with very few lights or turns to worry about the early morning traffic just flowed eerily easily. What a change and how refreshing ! Normally 20 minutes and this time about 10. Lucky or what?

  9. if you are interested then there is a place about 7km from Pattaya going south on Sukhumvit about opposite Ocean Marina before Ban Amphur which now has several (maybe 10) old aircraft and an eclectic mix of other wartime memorabilia

  10. I did get a reply from the Australian carpet cleaning Co. (see below). Nice try Wade53 but not sure of the intention

  11. last year we renewed our TRUE Platinum package(s) for 2 homes. We were assured then that Ch # 354 (BBC Entertainment) was now included in thae package price as True had regularised their offerings now without paying different combinations with different 'extras'

On Feb 1st Ch # 354 is blocked

A phone call to TRUE BKK say that the 'promotion' has now ended and Ch # 354 will now cost B100 a month

A visit to the charming, helpful lady in the small TRUE office in the big Electrical store almost opposite the new INDEX on Suk follows today.

We are told many customers are upset & angry. She explained that she was informed of the new policy on Feb 1st too.

Once complaints started she informed HO in BKK sending an attached 2014 email from BKK HO which clearly stated Ch # 354 was included in Platinum.

It is now felt that the more customers who complain by email to HO and/or Consumer Protection Office about such incidents the greater the chance of a reversal or an avoidance of repeat TRUE shenanigans !!

    Up to us

TIT - This is TRUE .................... again !

  12. just this minute returned from seeing my excellent orthopedist, a Dr Pratya, who has operated (keyhole) and otherwise attended to my shoulder issues for some time now. Caring, experienced and professional. Certainly does not overcharge (today was 15 minutes and ultrasounds on both shoulders at B880). Am now unfortunately arranging another keyhole jobbee on my other shoulder.

But Mr Prospero please don't waste your time seeing this excellent Dr. because he works at BPH.
