You are entering visa exempt and will get a 30 day permit to stay that can be extended for 30 days. You can apply for a non-o visa at immigration. You must have at least 15 days remaining on your 30 day entry or the 30 day extension of it. You will need 800k baht in a Thai bank on the day you apply. Requirements are here. https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/9.FOR-RETIREMENT-PURPOSES-50-YEARS-OLD-NON-O.pdf No need for an agent it you have the 800k baht in the bank.

The 400k baht in the bank for last year when you applied for the extension if they want to see your bank book to prove it. Not for this year. If you are from a western country you will need to prove a income of at least 50k baht to apply for a extension based upon working. See number one here. https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/visa-extension/

Getting the Insurance Issue Straight...
ubonjoe replied to D M G's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The immigration order for extensions of stay has not been changed to require insurance for a extension of a permit to stay from from a non-o visa. The agents are trying to sell something that is not required. That is correct. -

Medical care and covid 19. You only need 30 days of coverage. Check the policies shown here. https://tqm-app.com/static/thailandpass/index.html No insurance is needed for any amount of time. -

I never been to the Department of Consular Affairs. I have always used a translation service on Wireless Road to do the translation and the certification at the DCA and then send it to me by EMS. -

I can recall a report that those agents (translation services) have been moved to offices not far from the government complex. -
Immigration has taken down the old online reporting site and the 90 day reporting app is not working since it connects to that site to do the reporting. You may still get approval of the application you submitted by email. When is your 90 day report due? Using the new online reporting site to check the status of your report would not work since it was done on the old system.

ubonjoe replied to Wake Up's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It was his first extension of a Non-OA visa entry and he has already been doing 90 day reports since the OA visa allows a one year stay when entering the country. -

You will need a appointment at the Department of Consular Affairs of the MFA to have the translation certified. Info here: https://consular.mfa.go.th/th/publicservice/ขั้นตอนการรับรองเอกสาร You can have them mail the certified document to you when it is completed. You need to request it and pay a fee for it sent to by EMS. -
Children under the age of 15 are not fined for a overstay but they should sill have a valid permit to stay in the country. Not having one can cause other problems later. For example when they are old enough to attend school or even for a nursery.

The re-entry permit desk is after security shortly before the departure immigration desks in Immigration zone 2. Same TM8 form with a 4 X 6 cm photo attached and passport copies. You can also pay a 200 baht service fee and they will do everything including the photo.- 31 replies

Criminal Record check for visa application
ubonjoe replied to Siam_Sam's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That is not required for a non-o visa for retirement. It is only needed for a Non-OA visa. Info is here on the embassy website for both of them. https://london.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/84508-non-immigrant-visas?page=5d6636cd15e39c3bd00072dd&menu=5f4b6eb3f6ae4b236972c562 -
Apointment for extension
ubonjoe replied to Aforek's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Where does it state that. I assume it means you should not be late. At most offices you can apply for the extension up to 30 days early. You can choose any day within that time period. -
First extension of stay and 90 day report
ubonjoe replied to Wake Up's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Why? My passport has a receipt for my latest online report that I printed and stapled in my passport after carefully removing the old one. Same when I did them by mail a few years ago after getting it by mail. -
