  1. Exactly as a wrote in my post. Try it you yourself by starting a application for one of the options shown on the Thailand Pass site. Note there is no departure date shown in the above screenshot.
  2. You will only need 30 day of covid 19 insurance. Many people have entered with only 30 days of insurance. When doing the application for the Thailand Pass select returning to Thailand and eliminates the need for a departure date.
  3. The letter would be one requesting immigration issue a 30 day extension for the named person in the letter. There might be some examples posted when it was done before in 2020.
  4. I can assure you in the the past Thai's were forced to get a certificate of identity for a Thailand pass if their passport were expired. I hope all goes well for them when entering the country.
  5. It is written in the order that those that do not qualify for the 60 day covid 19 extensions can apply for a 30 day extension if they are able to get a letter from their embassy. That extension is in the the existing immigration order for extensions and immigration was doing them before the 60 day special extensions started.
  6. No But if they can get a letter from their embassy they can apply for a 30 day extension is mentioned in the order.
  7. A multiple or single re-entry permit is valid to the day your extension of stay expires. You have to get a new one every year. When you enter the country you get the standard arrival stamp. A single re-entry permit is 1000 baht and multiple is 3800 baht. If I recall correctly re-entry permits are done at the same desk where you apply for the one year extension at Jomtien.
  8. I have nevers seen the affidavit being available for download. At my office the give my wife the form to complete and then they open the one saved from the previous year and verify what is on is still correct. Last year they just printed out the previous completed form for us to sign.
  9. They may refuse to cancel your current extension so that you can apply for a new one. All you can do is ask about it.
  10. You can change the reason for your extension of stay at any immigration office. When does your current extension of stay end? Most offices will not do it until your extension is close to expiring.
  11. You might need your old passport to prove the amount of time you have been in the country or for proof you are legally in the country.
  12. He is currently on a extension of stay based upon retirement and want to change the reason for it to one based upon being the parent of Thai. A extension of based upon being the parent of a Thai allows him to get a work permit and work. It also requires less financial proof than one based upon retirement. If you already have a extension of any kind you do not need a different one to attend a school. The only reason to get a non-ed visa or extension based upon attending a school is to stay longer in the country.
  13. It will be done by the officer at a normal departure immigration desk.
  14. In reality it not something a person needs to worry about. In all my years I cannot recall a single report of anybody being charged for past due taxes or not doing a tax return.
  15. Immigration at the airport will transfer your permit to stay that the extension allowed that is in your old passport to your new passport and stamp you out of the country in it. When checking in for your flight you will need to show both passports.
  16. The extension for a family member of a person on retirement is under the same clause of the immigration order for many other categories of extensions. See number 20 that is for clause 2.20 of the immigration order here. https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=1890
  17. Two months on the day your apply for the extension of stay (it is not a visa) based upon marriage to a Thai. For a non-o visa application it only needs to be in a Thai bank on the day you apply for it at immigration.
  18. It is 6 months per calendar year. But Thailand do not enforce income taxes for those retired and in some cases there is a joint agreement between Thailand and other countries exempting it.
  19. If you were to put your new arrival date it would certainly be denied. If you entered your old arrival date it could be approved if they did not check their records to double check your arrival date.
  20. That is normally not a problem when need to show a year of bank statement. If they were to make a problem you could get a one month bank statement to use with it.
  21. Why would he even bother to do that since he is leaving the country soon. Airport immigration does not check for them since it is not within their responsibility to do it. Many people have done that and never had a problem when returning and then when they go to immigration for some reason.
  22. That is correct in normal times. But now they must have a valid passport or a certificate of identity to get a Thailand Pass and to enter the country.
  23. Since he is from the US he qualifies to get a 30 day visa exempt entry. For some unknown reason they did want him to enter the country. They probably asked him to show financial proof (at least the equivalent of 20k baht in cash) and a ticket out of the country within 30 days.
