No TM6 card on entry
ubonjoe replied to Laphroaig27's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes -
1. A short overstay is not normally a problem. 2. You could apply for a extension and when it is denied they would give you 7 days to leave the country after paying the 1900 baht fee. 3. Probably not.

The article for India does mention a visa being required to do a crossing unless living near the crossing. Another difference might be that their is no conflicts happening near those crossings. The main crossing at Mae Sot. Mae Sai and Kanchanaburi have have some conflicts nearby on the Myanmar side of the border.

No TM6 card on entry
ubonjoe replied to Laphroaig27's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
A TM6 is still required at land border crossings. Not required when entering by air. -
I can only post what the info for a entry to Laos required that is shown for entry on written requirements state. I would not suggest trying the enter Laos without a vaccination certificate or a ATK covid 19 test.

If it was a Non-OA visa that could be the case. Not sure why people are bringing the OA visa into the discussion. The is no reason for immigration not to extend a non-o visa that was issued based upon retirement. Not sure how immigration would even know that it was issued for retirement unless the embassy or consulate that issued it wrote a note on the visa sticker.

Ottawa Thai Embassy Not Helpful
ubonjoe replied to Canadian Snowbird's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
4. That is at least 20k baht or the equivalent in another currency proven by a bank statement. 6. That will be accepted. 8. A copy of your passport photo page since you are a citizen of Canada. 11. Proof of where you are residing in Canada so they know whether it will be processed by the embassy or the consulate in Vancouver. -
Convert O-A to O at Jomtien. MAJOR GLITCH
ubonjoe replied to Lichiyado's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You go to the embassy in Vientiane or the consulate in Savannakhet and apply for the non-o visa. Maybe better than a border hop and then having to deal with immigration for the non-o visa. -

They were certainly wrong. Which immigration office wanted the 2 months? This the rules issued by immigration: https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/9.FOR-RETIREMENT-PURPOSES-50-YEARS-OLD-NON-O.pdf -
No TM6 card on entry
ubonjoe replied to Laphroaig27's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No problem doing 90 days on the new online reporting site since it not a required entry. No problems doing them in person either since immigration is well aware they are not being done now. -

ubonjoe replied to Hmunker's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Maybe if you were apply for a extension of stay but not when applying for a non-o visa that takes at least 2 weeks for approval. -
The extension is only for 30 days.

If fully vaccinated a ATK covid 19 test is not required. You only need a certificate showing at least 2 vaccinations. The test has to be done by a professional that would do a certificate confirming the test 48 hours before arrival in Laos.

This is the correct map for Amphoe Na Yia (Police station there). https://goo.gl/maps/JmGVLKEp7LXgWTRo9 The OP used that name in a message to me.

New Passport/Marriage Extension
ubonjoe replied to brianthainess's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
They will only transfer the stamps to your new passport now. When your shortened extension expires is when you will be able to apply for a new one. -
I suggest you do a online report using your new passport number and then go to immigration with printout of the TM47 created by the report system and ask them to insure it is approved by proving you have done your stamp transfer to your new passport. I was going to do that in June when I did the stamp transfer but got approval before I went to the office (one hour approval the morning I was going to immigration. I did a post about it in the this topic on June 7th after I finished at immigration.

Immigration may of confirmed the entry date was correct by checking their recorst that would show you new entry date. You will need to wait until January to do your report, Count the days and do the report before the 90 days. You can do it up to 2 weeks before that day. You will not get a reminder to do the report. The system will on have have your old entry date. Be sure you change it when you do the report.
-
Your 90 day report will be due 90 days from the day our enter the country. The notification email from the system will still be sent while out of the country or after you enter the country again. Did you change your entry date to the new before doing the report. That would be why it was denied. You will do your report online up to the 90 days after you enter the country. When done you will need to change your entry date to the new one.
