  1. The non-o visa application has to be approved at the division level of immigration is the reason you must apply no later than 15 or 21 days remaining on your entry or the 30 day extension of it. The do not do a under consideration stamp for them.
  2. I missed that you got stamped in with your OA visa to November. You have the choice of applying for extension of your OA visa based upon retirement by showing 800k baht in the bank for 2 months and $100,000 of medical insurance from a Thai company. Or you could leave and re-enter without a re-entry permit to get a 30 day visa exempt entry and then apply for the non-o visa and extension of stay.
  3. You will need a bank letter and a copy of your updated bank book showing the 800l baht has been in the bank for 2 months for your first extension. What you need for your 2nd extension using the 800k baht in the bank option varies from office to office.
  4. I assume you got a 30 day visa exempt entry. You can apply for a non-o visa based upon retirement at You can transfer the 800k baht into a Thai bank account and then apply for the non-o visa as soon as it is in your account. Requirements for the non-o visa is here. https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/9.FOR-RETIREMENT-PURPOSES-50-YEARS-OLD-NON-O.pdf The nduring the last 30 days of the 90 day stay you can apply for a 1 year extension of stay based upon retirement. The 800k baht will have to be in the bank for 2 months on the day you apply.
  5. A good option is registered air mail that costs 325 baht now. It gets there sooner and you have proof it is received. A earlier post with tracking info shows that it took about 9 days to get there.
  6. There are other similar errors on the e visa website. I have suggested people create a file stating it is not required for the visa being applied for.
  7. Since you are Malaysian the 2 visa exempt entries per calendar year does not apply to you. There is no limit for you when entering Thailand from Malaysia.
  8. That is about correct but I would not do it any later than that. I would probably add a few days to it (maybe make it 20).
  9. You will not be applying for the visa at the LA Consulate. You will apply online. Not need for a trip to there. Everything is done online and they send you your visa by email. See: https://thaievisa.go.th/
  10. That appears to be the requirements for a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV). No need to get a visa for them if the are under the age of 15. They could overstay and not be fined for a overstay when leaving the country.
  11. You are not correct. "3. Requirements for passport holders of People's Republic of China 3.1 For short term travel to Thailand of less than 90 days (tourism, work meetings, short courses) Applicants should provide proof of residence, such as Cambodian visas, Cambodian work permit, proof of long-term accommodation, work contract, school/university confirmation of enrolment, immigration stamps showing applicant has been in Cambodia for the majority of the past 6 months and plans to return to Cambodia after leaving Thailand. Application consideration will take at least 3 working days: 3.2 For those intending to stay in Thailand for longer than 90 days (taking up employment, school/university students, Thai family) All applications (regardless of residency) will be subject to approval from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, which takes at least one month." 15. It would be easier to apply for a single entry tourist visa that the Thai embassy in Vientiane than a transit visa in most cases. Info can be found on this page that is also for making a appointment to do the application. https://thaivisavientiane.com/#
  16. Have you done 2 visa exempt entries this year? Have you gotten a 30 day extension for yout most recent visa exempt entry? A transit visa would be difficult to get. You could apply for a single entry tourist visa at a nearby embassy or consulate.
  17. Only visa exempt entries at land border crossings are limited to 2 per calendar year. If you have a valid visa for entry there is no limit.
  18. Back in 2020 when the started allowing entries for those staying or entering the country is when they put the insurance in place to get a non-o visa based upon retirement to get a certificate of entry. Prior to that the majority of embassies and official consulates were not issuing a non-o visa based upon retirement
  19. China is on the list of countries that can only apply for a visa in their home country. The embassy website states this for tourist visa application. "For non-US citizens – a copy of the permanent resident alien card or a copy of valid US visa – a letter proof of employment ( **we don’t accept pay stubs**) or a letter proof of full-time student status. For self-employed, business license or business registration indicating the applicant’s name." Source: https://thaiembdc.org/2020/11/05/trsingle_entry/
  20. If you use their mobile banking app you can request a one year bank statement they send by email. Go to accounts and select the account you want the statement for and click the 3 dots at the top of the page and you will see request a statement.
  21. It will only need to be in the bank for 2 months on the day you apply for a one year extension of the last 1 year entry from your OA visa.
  22. A extension of stay (it is not a visa) is issued by a immigration based upon retirement. Visas are issued by embassies and consulates. Immigration will issue a single entry non-o visa for retirement that will allow a 90 day stay after the visa is approved.
  23. Things changed late last year when they starting using the Thailand Pass. When the embassies and official consulate were doing the Certificate of Entry is when the expired passport problems occured.
