They must of been a reason they could not of changed your permit to stay stamp to one year. Were you on a extension of stay or a visa entry.
Many others have got the one year stamp as soon as they did the sticker.
it must have changed over the time, the extension was on the previous year visa stamp, which was expiring, and the last extension was a week from expiring, as the new visa stamp was placed in the same passport at CW, i had to activate the new visa, by leaving, then coming back in, with the new extension activated from the new visa stamp

I wrote this.
Note I wrote both permanent residency and a work permit. Those with permanent residency and no work permit were not allowed to enter the country.
I didnt see that in my original reply, that just shows how this kind of regime can restrict many, long term visa types with this corona virus

'When immigration at a office put the PE visa sticker in a person's passport they change the current entry stamp to one year from the day the visa was issued. When done at an airport they do a one year entry as soon as the sticker is done.'
My experience 3.5 years ago, was a little different, after they placed the visa stamp at CW, i was told to activate the new visa by having to leave, then come back in to the country, if that has changed thats good

Only those with with permanent residency and a work permit were able to enter the country. Several people I am aware of with permanent residency and no work permit are still stuck outside the country and faced losing their residency due to not being able to enter before their re-entry permit expired. They no longer have to worry about their residency since a exemption is in the recent ministerial order.
Yes, that was my point also, that many long term visa types were/are stopped from entering, apart from permanent residency and work permits, that under this kind of regime, many people are being affected from entering, elite visas too

Interesting. I was under the impression you could do all this without ever leaving the country.
Presumably, besides the visa, you would receive a one year permission of stay stamp. And, like annual renewal of extensions, you could do this with 30 days (45 days in CM) remaining on your then current extension of stay.
the conversion of any visa, is immigration, Elite have to abide to that, if i have a 5 year visa attached to my passport, immigration requests, the visa to be activated by leaving the country, then enter the country, the visa is now activated, once i have the visa activated, i can renew by extending the visa, without having to exit the country

One updated bit of info on the Thai Elite Visa.
There was uncertainty amongst many (myself included) regarding whether or not The Thai Elite Visa was considered a ‘resident visa’.
The statement below from Thai Elite makes it clear that the Thai Elite Visa is a long term tourist visa and nothing more.
[Thailand Elite Visa is a special type of tourist Visa and is not counted as a permanent residence. Therefore, if you do not have a work permit, you may be refused to enter the kingdom of Thailand until April 30st, 2020 according to the decree.]
A permanent residency is different at immigration, what you re-printed is because of the corona virus, only permanent residents, work permits were allowed to enter temporarily, all other visas, marriage, retirement, elite, were not allowed, i dont get the negativity on the visa class, when most long term visas are similar in that, you can stay but legally you are unable to work

Hello, elite visa sent me a document that i can go only in that particular day. I got really mad. I paid and I'm not free to go when I want.
Anyway, is it compulsory to go with that document in that day? I'm in pattaya .
Thanks
You must of contacted Elite, and whether for extension, or the visa stamp, they made an appointment with immigration for you, maybe you had an elite rep. booked to meet with you, for your appointment with immigration, i am only guessing, from your post

Im not wound up, the comment to me was right. If I dont like the xenopobia, poor service, terrible road safety, comstant digs at "farang", government feeding the whole bad attitude towards foreigners, second class citizen despite my decent contribution to society,, etc, etc,, then I could just leave. Well thats what me and my family did, never to return,. Anyway this thread is about the lockdown, so I hope it goes smoothly this time and you all stay safe. Good luck everyone.
There has been a huge uptick in racism from top down from this regime, here in Bangkok, from last year, going to a bank cashier ( bangkok bank) to withdrawal,
easy go with passport, they check passport id, sometimes copy the Id, give cash to customer, not anymore
go in now, they give you a form to fill in, saying you haven’t got the plague, aids, Wuhan virus, give phone number, go to cashier, cashier gets copy of passport Id, then thinks they are immigration, and checks visa, sometimes getting it wrong, copy’s visa page and Id then give money to customer
Thai walks in, copy of id, gets money, that’s it
that’s racism, Han Chinese style, exactly what’s going on in China and now here

When the white man showed up in Africa the white man had the bible and the black man had the land.
Wasn't long before the white man had the land and the black man had the bible!????You are completely wrong about the Chinese financing the creation of Bangkok, this is a lie, the families at that time with great power, created the ‘Ascension Council’ a group of families connected to the Safavid empire going back centuries, the chinese became powerful, and started to emigrate to Siam/Thailand in huge numbers 150 years ago, onwards, Thonburi, then Bangkok were created well before the Chinese became influential, these are facts

part of the $60 billion Wuhan virus help fund for local economy, was for the millions, even 10’s millions who have no jobs, less income because of the forced shutdown of the economy, all their communist Han Chinese business creeps are doing ok, many people are using the banks or the large franchise supermarkets, so giving 20 million 5000 a month is affordable, it’s $3 billion a month, $60 billion more than covers it

Although to be fair, it's not like the US ever planned on paying off its debt. Perks of being number: who's going to come collect? No one...so debt is not a big deal for the USA. The USA needs to fire up the printing presses and start printing that fake money ASAP and buying up all available land in Southeast Asia, India, Africa, and South America while they still can. They can't let China beat them to the punch.
You have to be a pro-Beijing troll to think US owes China, China is far more in debt than any western civilized country, and China still owes the west 700 billion in war bonds debts from the last world war
very few people on this planet want to be controlled by control freaks of communism, most people would always choose a free and fair rule society, communist China are like icarus, get too close to the sun, and it all comes crashing down, once the Chinese firewall is dismantled, I would give the communists less than 12 months of survival

15-20 million people probably need it, not 2-3 million, many have been without income since early March, even if you open up, the faster the better now, as it will take months to regain the millions of lost jobs, people’s spending habits will take time, to spend so freely as before, exports will take time, tourists will be slower to arrive, leaving it till May to start opening up, is too long, and this idea of a second wave would only be meaningful, if a regime will look after its population through care and responsibility, like mass testing, as this crew couldn’t give a damn about people, let them go back to work, with some cash handouts so they can begin again

If you don’t want to spend money for mass testing, from the $60 billion Wuhan virus local economy help fund, then don’t pretend to care about human rights, and let millions of people start to earn money again, it’s just horrific seeing people so desperate now, I went past a hotel, giving out packages of food, bags of eggs, sandwiches, meals, an empty townhouse near by, has been used by the landlord as shelter to the extra homeless, who have no jobs, from the local area, it’s just becoming twisted by the control freaks in charge

That’s pretty amazing because even A week ago I read that the strain in Italy was basically the same as in China.
good information-I will research more ????
That’s right the publicly known patient zero in Italy was a tourist from Wuhan, China, same publicly known patient zero in Thailand was a tourist from Wuhan, China, all the arrows point back to virus origin Wuhan, China, if there is one strain, two strains, or three strains, they all came from Wuhan

Would not work because Songkran (this year not withstanding) is a cultural event where many students are taken back to the provinces to visit relatives, pay respects to elders, etc etc. It would be like banning Red and Green Fanta bottles on the sidewalk or making Pla Ra illegal
Many of the parents around this way, have children at these international schools, and April time many have 2-3 weeks holiday, apart from family mart and 7-11, most other places in Bangkok shut down during the Songkran week

Iran is opening up now, people going back to work, not 100% back to work, Italy is working out the details to open its country too, If Italy and Iran can do it in April, then the ongoing control by the men in green has other meanings

Interesting to note that the category with by far the greatest "success rate" was employers!
By my (shaky) mathematics it works out, overall, as a 7% success rate.
Oh dear - it would be very interesting to know exactly what the criteria applied were; apart of course, as posted here already, who you are or who you know!
Fat chance of that of course.
If the rate you worked it out is 7%, then that is just shocking, during a shutdown of an economy, little work for many weeks, paying 7%, monsters at work
they probably used isoc to assess the anger around, and maybe thought they could get away with distributing a lot less to those in need, as people are just still in a state of passive aggression, without the aggression erupting
I noticed on the stock exchange this last two weeks, one of the biggest movers was CRC, central department stores and retail, that should be a slow mover, as very little retail is open until the earliest May, they are just using this as an excuse for more wealth distribution for themselves

If there is one certainty to all of this, it is that the army does not have an ethical or benevolent bone, in it's entire body. So, is this really about the "people". if they are really making this so difficult?
That’s right, they have no human rights bones in their bodies, they announce $60 billion in helping the local economy, then claim mass testing isn’t worth it, and too expensive

This is just a scam by these gangsters, tell the country that they will pay people 5k a month as they care so much, and the Wuhan virus is not their fault for closing the economy
many people would think they would get it, show the country the Wuhan virus money to help support the local economy, $60 billion in total so far
then make excuses to say, people are not eligible, or can’t apply, Or did something wrong
I mean the whole idea of cash handouts during an economic crisis, is to try to help as many people as possible, so who will get the $60 billion? the gangsters and their gang affiliates in big business, to hell with the little guys and their votes, keep them on a tighter leash now they are all poorer

"Thai Elite" Visa Experience
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

i haven't done the airport fixing stamp process, the process seems much simpler at the airport, than CW, its something that in the past i wasn't aware of, and this time i am, the CW process can be held up, as that section near to the 90 day reporting, to fix the stamps can be really slow, or in that day's case, the whole team had to leave the section for a meeting, which made everyone wait an extra 2 hours
