Ex-PM Thaksin’s Dubai dreams dashed: Medical treatment declined
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Not really. Every one I know in Issan has forsaken him and no longer supports him. After selling out both his party and his soul, few respect him anymore. His relevance has diminished greatly. His moral bankruptcy has multiplied and grown. He is an embarrassment to all. -
You may be the only person to have praised Palin in the past decade or so. At least she had the vision to see Russia from Alaska.

Yes. Trump is in meltdown mode. He is losing it. Picking Just Dull Vance did not help. And he is increasingly incoherent, and rambling. Alot of people are just getting tired of his incessant hatred and bitterness. It is getting old. He is very, very old. And Harris will appeal to independent women, who are undecided. I predict Harris by more than 11 million votes. It will crush Trump. And it will likely be the end of his diabolical family and brand. And quite possibly MAGA too. Hooray.

Thoughts on the opening ceremony at the Paris Olympics
spidermike007 replied to spidermike007's topic in Political Soapbox
You make a very good point, there is a time and place for everything, and those festivals are a place that people can celebrate in whatever way they want to celebrate, on their own and with their own, and it's all good. When it comes to the opening ceremony of the Olympics, historically they have usually been carried out with a sense of grace, dignity and elegance. This ceremony did not possess very much of that and there is no need to rub their lifestyle in everyone's faces. Ladyboys might be popular in Thailand, and for some there is some appeal. I've seen some lady boys that were very attractive. I've rarely ever seen drag queens that I've said the same thing about. Nor anyone else. Some are a monstrosity. -
Thailand’s steel sales drop 8.7% amid cheap Chinese imports

There's no need to sell him the wall, remember Mexico's going to pay for it! The check is in the mail. -
It is a great strategy and it is truly one of their biggest weaknesses. Trump is 11 levels beyond weird, he has reinvented the terms bizarre, incoherent and semi senile. And Just Dull Vance is such a negative for the ticket, and Trump likely regrets picking the fake hillbilly. They are heading toward a loss of historic proportions, and it will be the absolutely the end of Trump, his entire family and likely MAGA too. One can only hope.

Big Joke Ready to Accept Police Commission Decision
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I don't think he will ever accept a decision that demonstrates the man's guilt, he reminds me of somebody in America who lives every day of his life in complete denial, this man is likely as guilty as they come. -
Father loses 8.7 million baht in fake modelling agency scam
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Alot of people just do not understand how corrosive, damaging, degrading and nasty social media can be. There are an infinite number of scammers, predators and fraudsters out there. Most of us have the good sense to avoid them, and not get taken in by their unwillingness to do actual work for a living. If it sounds too good to be true it likely is, and if it sounds too good to be true and you're seriously considering getting involved in sending money, do some research first, engage in self-preservation for yourself and your family, find out about these people that are asking for your money. More than likely you will then decide it wasn't real, and they criminals were trying to scam you, yet you were smart enough to not fall into their trap. It boggles the mind, to consider the number of people who fall for these scams. Someone calls you, or contacts you online, and you send them money? Someone you have never met? Someone you have not researched? What gives? Where are the survival instincts? And it is a strong indication of just how bent, warped and misguided contemporary culture and society is, that someone can be considered an idol or celebrity just because they have alot of followers on Tik tok, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Personally, I consider social media to be the most corrosive and degenerate force in culture today, and they can be downright dangerous, on multiple levels. -
Big Joke changes name for better luck amid gambling scandal
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Knowing that the RTP is the biggest pyramid scheme in Thailand, and knowing that he was a deputy director, the chances of him being a real crime fighter and the chances of him being clean and free of corruption are likely well under 1%. When it comes to the RTP it should always be guilty until proven innocent. Therefore he is guilty. Changing his name is not going to change his history and it's not going to change his past. He'd be better off moving overseas where people have no idea who he is. Just take your fortune and run, like a big joke that never happened. -

Very rarely. This is an entirely different program. Not the same at all, of subsidizing an entire industry to enable them to lower prices. Apples and watermelons. -

Thailand Aims to Increase Tourism with Paris Olympics Campaign

It takes a special level of genius to predict 632,000 French tourists from a specific campaign. Maybe they are consulting with a psychic? -
Are foreigners taken for granted in Thailand?

It is really simple. Just take your time getting to know your gal. And I mean years. If you decide she is worthy of help, and if you like her family, help them. Alot of guys are in a big hurry. And alot of gals really push the timetable. Always push back. Do it at your own pace. Time is your ally. -
Time Has Come to Reconsider The Existence of Women's Prisons
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Bad women are just as rotten as bad men. Nothing special about them. And nobody is crying over the stress they are feeling in prison. Very few prisons are about reform. Suggest some alternatives, before suggesting abolishing prison for women. -
You may not like Biden, but Putin is anything but sane. Quite the opposite. He is a completely immoral, narcissistic sociopath, serial killer, and despot dictator, having stolen tens of billions from his nation. Any now that his Ukraine bloodbath project has failed, he is scared, paranoid, and desperately afraid of being assassinated. Which is all good. He deserves whatever suffering he is getting.

Is this Apple Video insulting to Thailand ?
spidermike007 replied to CharlieH's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Victimization seems to be a new form of heroism, so many people have succumbed to the disease of being a victim and being outraged. Better to save your outrage for something that's worthwhile, this is such a nothing burger. I suggest to the Thai people that are outraged that they try using a train in France which is nearly always in time, is modern, and takes two and a half hours to go 600 km. Or they try using a luxury bus elsewhere in the world and then compare it to the local Thai buses. Or try using a Mercedes taxi in Nice, instead of a rundown Corolla here. Some of the depictions are not all that far from the truth. Thailand is not exactly all glitz and glamour. Many of us would argue that though it contains some modern spots, it is still very much a third world nation. -
The biggest problem with this man and the biggest danger with this man, is that virtually every foreign leader that he negotiated with during his term as president was a failure. If you look at his meetings with Kim, MBS, Xi, Putin and many others they all outsmarted him, they all bested him, his boycotts and sanctions resulted in massive harm to Americans and the economy, and it is likely they all laughed at him after the meetings. Most laugh at his lack of preparation, professionalism, intelligence, and buffoonery. He is a laughing stock he just doesn't know it.

Biden unveils plan for Supreme Court changes
spidermike007 replied to simple1's topic in Political Soapbox
The Supreme Court is in drastic need of reform, there should not only be term limits but there should also be age limits. Every justice should be retired at the age of 70, and they should not allowed be allowed to serve for more than 15 years. At that point it's time to put them out to pasture. -

Try living in Russia for a few years as a gay man and see how much tolerance you find 100 years after the Bolsheviks. So many people get so lost in the ideals of Communism and Marxism, however those ideals have never been put into practice successfully. The entire concept has been an abject failure worldwide for an entire century. -
Thoughts on the opening ceremony at the Paris Olympics
spidermike007 replied to spidermike007's topic in Political Soapbox
I have changed my position on some of this. And it does seem like fake news. The opening ceremony apart from the scenes on the river were pretty awful, and in poor taste. After careful review, I did not like it at all, but it was NOT a mockery of Christianity. It was a depiction of the Greek Bacchanalia, right down to the 17 people, the fruit plate, the fat lady, etc. The rest is made up by the media and highly sensationalized, by people easily triggered. And for the calls of boycotts, avoiding the Olympics is ridiculous. It's a wonderful sporting event, happens only every 4 years, so if some triggered people don't want to watch it, who loses out?
