Anutin urges Phuket officials to get tough with foreign offenders
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The Thai people urge Anutin to get tough with the corrupt RTP. The Thai people urge Anutin to get tough with the corrupt immigration agents. The Thai people urgent Anutin to crack down on the terrible air quality and bring some punishment to the sugar farmers and the sugar refiners, make them pay a price. The Thai people ask Anutin to crack down on the corrupt officials within his own administration, and while you're at it go ahead and crack down in the corrupt army officials too. In other words, do some actual work for a change. -
‘Land of Smiles’ fast becoming ‘Land of Russian Crime’
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Southern Thailand News
A Russian man I know who I was speaking to about how the Russians are supporting themselves here in Thailand said that 90% of all Russians earning over $60,000 a year (which is likely the threshold that would be required for them to spend some time overseas) are involved in crime. 90%! So if they're involved in crime at home what do the authorities hear think that they will be doing in Thailand? Think about it guys! You invite anyone and everyone in and what are you going to have? Havoc that's what you're going to have. Cossack style havoc.- 68 replies

Not so sure about that. Republicans have a way of ranting over the debt, then adding to it. A better way to measure how much President Trump added to the debt is to evaluate the ten-year debt impact of the laws and executive orders he signed. We estimate that those added a combined $8.4 trillion to the debt over a ten-year period – consistent with Haley’s claim. https://www.crfb.org/blogs/how-much-did-president-trump-add-debt

I wouldn't be surprised if he was running one of these operations, that's how crooked he is. -
Online Loan Shark Gang Crushed: 2,000% Annual Interest!
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand News
There are likely psychiatrists that specialize in dealing with patients who took loans from sharks that charge 200% monthly interestn. Anyone agreeing to a loan like this has got to have their head examined or has got to be an extreme desperado. -
Thai monk arrested for drinking alcohol and approaching nuns
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Who is more ridiculous in this equation the silly monk or the stupid mother? -
Darwin said that we need certain skills in order to survive and thrive in this world. Obviously this man did not have any of those skills. What kind of simpleton smokes a cigarette while filling up a gas tank? Who is this guy, is is he just stupid or is this a case of someone being incredibly cavalier and nonchalant? If so he's certainly paid a price for it. If he survives those burns will be a reminder of his stupidity everyday for the rest of his life.

Thai condo market dominated by Chinese and Russian investors
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
A Russian person that I know told me that for a fact very very few Russians earning over $60,000 a year are NOT involved in crime. I wonder if the same applies to the Burmese, how many wealthy Burmese that are earning their money legally, are buying condos here in Thailand?- 61 replies

The army put him in power, does anybody really expect him to stand up to them? He's their puppet, he is their crony. We know how incredibly corrupt the army is, we know countless amounts of money is being stolen every year. Go ahead Sretta, deny truth and justice with every ounce of your being. That's just who you are.

Anutin urges Phuket officials to get tough with foreign offenders
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Don't get tough with corrupt RTP, don't get tough with corrupt immigration agents, and customs agents, don't get tough with Highway Patrol who absolutely refuse to patrol the highway, don't get tough with corrupt officials in the army or in the administration. Save all your ire for those evil foreigners.- 211 replies

I would be utterly shocked if he had 3 generals and one colonel behind him. Most seem to despise and distrust him. He hates the military and they hate him back. 5 deferrments when his nation asked him to serve did not help. Neither did 5 major bankruptcies. The military men like someone who takes responsibility seriously. He doesn't.

Thai doctor in Swiss expat case says she has ‘stress’
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
I absolutely despise hindsight. With a vengeance. -
With the current economy being very sluggish, and the government's inability to do anything to remedy that situation, it seems as if they're becoming more and more dependent on tourism, as much as they hate to admit it. However one tends to sense a pretty high level of desperation these days. Since Thailand is already the center of the universe, there's really no need to make it any sort of hub.

Big Joke still laughing: Royal Thai Police delay investigation
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The RTP does not exactly have a sterling record when it comes to investigating itself. These guys know that they're above the law and I don't expect the joke to be convicted, though I'm quite sure of his guilt. When it comes to the RTP I think that it's always fair to say guilty by association, and guilty until proven innocent. -
Would anybody like to venture a guess as to what the age of this ferry was? I'm guessing 70 years old. Thailand has a lot of ancient ferries, that are still in use and I can't imagine that the inspection, nor the maintenance procedures are all that stringent.

Man falls to death from Bangkok’s Yellow Line Skytrain station
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
It doesn't sound like a fall to me, it sounds like suicide, certainly what he did was incredibly reckless, but it sounds like the guy was trying to kill himself. Why are they giving us a description of what the other guy was wearing, what does that mean, and why is that relevant? -
Deputy PM supports regulated cannabis use in Thailand
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Anutin is a complete imbecile, I actually thought his support for legalization was a good thing a few years back, but the reality is that billions have been invested and now they want to change the ground rules. It's completely ridiculous, walking this back is not the answer. I wish it was his money that was on the line. -
British man dies after bathroom fall at Chon Buri residence
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
This was a very unfortunate accident but the reality is that a lot of Thai homes and a lot of Thai bathrooms have this ridiculously slippery tile that has no place in a home or a bathroom. It is very easy to slip on it, if it's the slightest bit wet, and all it takes is hitting your head in the right spot as you fall and you're done, you are dead as a doornail. I remember years ago a friend of mine was at work, a friend of his went to the bathroom walked up to the urinal, finished his business turned around slipped on the tile and died on the spot. The guy was 26 years old, he fell and hit his head on just the right spot and it was all over. It does not take much. -
Thai doctor in Swiss expat case says she has ‘stress’
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Sure, and you walk up to them and you say this is my property would you mind getting up and not blocking the sidewalk? Very simple, very easy, there's no reason for a big confrontation. But we know that this guy's an arrogant head case and he deserves whatever comes his way as far as I'm concerned and as we all know by now it wasn't even private property, it was just him defending his version of a tiny empire. -
Do you find rich and successful women intimidating?
spidermike007 replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I dated several very successful women back in the US, back in the day and though a few were delightful and lovely, the biggest issue I had is that they were married to their work, it was very difficult for them to take a break, to take time off, and go on a vacation, and they were very set in their ways and very stubborn. Some were fun to hang out with, but for me not relationship material. Too many challenges, and too difficult. I decided long ago that being with an intellectual equal has way more downside than upside.
