  1. To think that this man, who possesses absolutely nothing in the way of leadership ability, said he only wanted to be a caretaker PM for 2 years. And now the power has created such thirst, such desperation, such megalomania, and such greed, that he cannot let it go. How power can transform a man. Not to mention the fortune one at the top of the TPPS (Thai power pyramid scheme) can earn.
  2. The risk right now is very, very low. It is a very minor calculated risk, in exchange for the paranoia, discomfort, and limitations of mask wearing.
  3. I am very fortunate as I am still here. No place else I would rather be. Especially Europe or the US. I am one of the proud escapees.
  4. Was she wearing the very best helmet she could afford?
  5. Prayuth, Anutin and Phiphat could not have done a better job of sabotaging a vital industry, if they were actually trying to do so. If anyone did not see the reasons to oust these guys before, the vaccination drive alone is all the indictment the nation needs. No question, with the exception of some infrastructure, Thailand has been moving backwards for the past decade. On nearly every level. It did have a good run. Those days are behind it. So much self sabotage has been inflicted on this rather resilient nation, it would be a near impossibility for it to pull itself out of the abyss, shake off the molasses, and move forward. A very dynamic leader like Thanathorn would at least give the nation a chance at having a future. The current creeps do not. Japanese companies are relocating. Despite the constant lies, foreign investment is way down. Tourism is all but finished. I understand why nearly a million youth are on FB, trying to figure out a way out. The future must look very bleak to them. For many of us, who are fortunate enough to not have a business here, things are simpler, and less complicated. All we have to do is deal with the continuous daily drivel of these goons in charge. This will likely be a two to five year shake out. The financial devastation to the economy is bad. And it will be sustained. Massive unemployment. Millions are out of work.
  6. Quite false, from what I understand. But, since when did truth or facts means anything to Anutin and his house of goons?
  7. 95% of us ex-pats are done with masks. Only Thais continue to be obsessed with masks. So, drop the silly advice, please.
  8. Was she wearing the best helmet she could afford? Or any helmet at all? Was she an experienced rider? If riding a motorbike here, treat the activity as an act of war, in a sense that you may be mowed down or killed at any moment. Maintain eyes in the back of your head. Watch everyone. Expect craziness, insanity, lack of reason, and a complete lack of courtesy and respect on the roads, at all times. Expect cars and trucks to be coming at you in the wrong lane. Expect people to overtake you with the slimmest of margins. Expect trucks to be driving very slowly in the fast lane of a highway. If riding a motorbike, only do so if you have many years of experience. Especially on the southern islands, where huge numbers of foreigners leave Thailand in a wooden box. Drive like a grandmother. This applies to ex-pats too. Bring along an international drivers license. This helps you to avoid being fleeced by the local police franchisee.
  9. Well, we may be not know who they all are, but we sure know what they all are.
  10. I hear Phuket has bounced back quite nicely. On Samui now. While occupancy is high, many resorts are at only 50%, and it is not crowded, like a normal peak season. Will likely take alot longer to recover.
  11. Never been fooled by that. Name a few billionaires who are truly decent people, and possess at least some morality. Ted Turner is one of the only ones I can think of. He is doing alot of good work with his land management, and does not seem to be the slightest bit interested in increasing his fortune, at a cost to humanity. Quite the opposite of Musk, Bezos, the Koch Brothers, Trump, and countless others.
  12. The great man appears to be quite sensitive to criticism and willing to engage in censorship, after claiming he would not. It is obvious his wealth has gotten to his head and he is not wearing his power lightly or with grace. Meanwhile his share holders at Tesla are revolting, as the stock has dropped more than 60%, and he appears to have lost interest in management of the company. Additionally many owners and investors are finding the brand increasingly toxic, due to his continued, unhinged ranting on Twitter. He appears to be losing the plot.
  13. While the increased reservoir capacity will help with the floods, the modified Hopi rain dances with help with the drought.
  14. Nice to know these well guided, and well meaning folks are working hard to keep the nation safe and protect the people. By focusing on the overstayers over the real gangsters, smugglers, drug lords, and those involved in slavery, they are improving the national security of the nation.
  15. People say alot of ridiculous things. Means very little what they say. Nonsense is nonsense. Sure, discipline is a factor. But, even with discipline a monster is still a horrendous and dangerous monster.
  16. Hey Vlad. We all know you are very self conscious of your lack of height. And that may be a contributing factor to your level of meanness, nastiness, warmongering, and dissatisfaction with your self and your life. But, that is no excuse for your bullying. Many bullies meet a cruel end. We can only hope.
  17. Put down this horrendous beast. Now. Today. No reason to wait. Once a dog viciously attacks a human, he has self revoked his right to consume oxygen. Plain and simple. Surely the horrible beast loving squad will object. Means little.
  18. Harry is really starting to appear as an unhinged wimp. Who has become completely emasculated and controlled by a power hungry woman. Woe is he.
  19. Message to Vlad the madman. Invading foreign nations can lead to unpredictable consequences. Such as exposing your nation and your military as the broken down, hapless, weak, anemic, sorry, backward, highly incapable nation it really is, and exposing yourself as an unhinged, serial killing, genocidal, power hungry despot dictator.
  20. No reason for the runoff of sewer waste? How about the government and the authorities bring too cheap to build sufficient waste water treatment plants? How about a population that professes to love their nation, yet stubbornly refuses to look after the water, the air and the land? Those seem like good reasons to me.
  21. 1. Even if the laws are passed, will the government enforce it, and hold bad employers to account? 2. Will they continue to refuse to grant Burmese, and other foreign workers the same protections afforded to Thais?
  22. Why would the big dogs involvement change anything at all? This was always about the RTP not being compensated and not being partners with the Chinese triads. Will the chief be the top negotiator with the triads now? It appears that way. So, it is likely the only way the Chinese will be charged, is if they do not agree with the RTP mafia partnership terms.
  23. That alone should disqualify him. If merit, honor, family, nobility, character, honesty, and credibility meant anything here for a candidate. They don't. It is all about cash. Total corruption and breakdown of the system. Dinosaur stuff.
  24. People simply put too much faith in technology, or grossly over estimate how advanced we are, as a species. I believe we are 300 to 500 years away from a viable nuclear fusion technology. Nobody has even come close. An experiment that lasts a trillionth of a second barely registers.
  25. Not true. I have been warned about not posting a link to back up claims.
