Transgender who regrets transition speaks out !
spidermike007 replied to CharlieH's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Fair is a concept that is so overplayed in this day of overly weak PC nonsense. So what if he thinks it is unfair to him? Means nothing to me. There is a whole universe our there who feels differently, not to mention the world of science, biology, etc. -

PC has become weaponized by the left, to the point where anyone speaking out risks their career, their reputation, their very quality of life. It is a form of cultural war insanity. If you are a student of history, and you look at the things that were going on in the 2nd half of the 5th century AD, before the fall of Western Rome, you will find alot of parallels to where the US is right now. Utter confusion, class wars, money trumping all sense of ethics or morality, alot of fake puritanism, alot of fake patriotism, etc. America as we knew it, is a historical footnote. -

As a Dem, I can say the party seems hopelessly lost, and the takeover by the radical left, seems as bizarre to me as the orange takeover of the GOP. Both parties are completely broken. Time for independents, or 4th or 5th parties? -
1. None of the issues existing before Covid were ever addressed. Typical Thai style. These goons in charge won't take responsibility for anything. 2. Many economies have been devastated, and Thailand's tourist base of primarily lower income Indians, Chinese and Malaysians were hardest hit. 3. Thailand cannot and will not attract wealthy or even affluent tourists, for a dozen good reasons. No sacrifices are being made, to make Thailand more appealing to them. 4. Thailand is a nation in reverse. It is moving backwards, and represents the polar opposite of progress on countless levels. It is simply NOT becoming a better version of itself. The environment, traffic and public safety, horrific law enforcement, corruption, air quality, etc. Add to that heinous luxury and wine taxes, and you have an environment wealthy tourists avoid like the plague. 5. You cannot shut down the entire tourism industry for nearly 2 years, decimate the nightlife, hotels, restaurants and countless related businesses, engage in a very poorly planned vaccination program, create a climate of fear and panic, and then just expect because you open your doors again, millions will flood in. The world does not work like that. 6. Thailand is NOT the center of the known universe. It is becoming less relevant by the minute. Tourists are forgetting Thailand. Thailand needs foreigners 100x more than they need Thailand. 7. The pasteurization and homogenization of Thai culture does not help. That is not what tourists want. Thailand will never be Monaco or Singapore. I could go on and on and on. The goons just do not get it. At all.

Nationwide COVID-19 Restrictions Lifted Effective Immediately
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The mask thing here is so far over the top, and many of us non lemming types know exactly what that is all about. Outdoor masking has very little to do with health, prevention or public safety. It has infinitely more to do with Cha Cha's job security. Keep the people scared. So, no more masks for us. Not outdoors, unless in a very crowded area. And never again on a motorbike. It does not get more ridiculous than that. Good riddens.- 14 replies

Well, we are not exactly crying. I am triple vaccinated, with only the good ones. Transgender who regrets transition speaks out !

Well of course. But that is not what is happening, due to extreme PC weakness. The snowflakes seem to be ruling the day. And I say that as a centrist Democrat, who despises PC. -
Gen. Damrongsak Kittipraphat has likely been smoking alot of cannabis, or doing some outstanding mushrooms. He is so out of touch, he does not seem to have the faintest idea who his police force is, when they can or cannot do, and how many countless issues face the tourism industry here. And they keep on insisting all you have to do is announce you are open, and most restrictions are gone, and millions will just flock back in, and if nothing happened. The world is a different place, and tourism here will never, ever be the same again.

Transgender who regrets transition speaks out !

Nice to hear it from all sides. The PC crew, the liberals in the US, the universities, and many others are so anxious to hop on the support bandwagon, for anyone who wants to be different, regardless of the complexity of the circumstances. When it goes so far that the governing body of competitive swimming in the US is supporting "trans women", who are biological MEN, and enabling them to compete with "real women", who have little chance of winning against a 6'4" man who has transitioned, with shoulders the size of a quarterback, it is beyond ridiculous. I am an open minded guy. I have had a number of gay and lesbian friends for a long time, and am generally supportive of alternative lifestyles. But, there has to be a limit. Somewhere, somehow. HE was a competitive swimmer as a man. So, how is it fair that he competes as a woman? Thomas began swimming on the men's team at the University of Pennsylvania in 2017, and during her freshman year, recorded a time of 8 minutes and 57.55 seconds in the 1,000-yard freestyle that ranked as the sixth-fastest national men's time, as well as 500-yard freestyle and 1,650-yard freestyle times ranked within the national top 100. On the men's swim team in 2018–2019, Thomas finished second in the men’s 500, 1,000, and 1,650-yard freestyle at the Ivy League championships as a sophomore in 2019. During the 2018–2019 season, Thomas recorded the top university men's team times in the 500 free, 1000 free, and 1650 free. -
Well, that applies to most nations. There are very few high levels politicians anywhere, that are not highly compromised. But, anything is better nothing, and Cha Cha is a true nothing, and the very definition of an empty suit. A guy like Thanathorn, or even Korn, could be an enormous improvement, though youthful would be a great quality in a leader here. We need another Thaksin style election, where the control is wrestled away from the crocodiles (the so called elites). and the people have more of a say in decisions. Idealistic, yes. Impossible, no.

This is a good move. The draconian element of threatening to fine or jail people for not wearing a mask outdoors, was positively heinous. I understood it, when we had tens of thousands of new cases a day. But now? The cases are way down, and wearing a cloth mask outdoors was never much of a preventative measure, unless one was in a very crowded area, and asking people to mask up while riding a motorbike made Thailand the laughing stock of the planet. I already stopped wearing one outdoors. I refused in the past few weeks. Perhaps more tourists will come now that this surly and ridiculous requirement was been removed?

This is a very good line of questioning, and could not be closer to the truth. That is precisely why the empty suit preferred to avoid having to answer it. This is just another indication of the callous disregard for the masses, and their difficult financial plight, at this time. This tone deaf, ivory tower administration continues to demonstrate their unworthiness on a daily basis. If they want to demonstrate they are serious people, and care about the interests of both the people and the future of the nation, they need to start making some sacrifices. So far, only the masses are making sacrifices, with no concessions from the multi millionaire leaders. Barely any assistance in this time of crisis. I suggest Prayuth begin by giving up the ridiculous submarine vanity project. Show us something. Show us any reason why you guys deserve to remain in power. Thailand might have been the tiger of SE Asia a decade or so ago, having been the 22nd largest economy in the world, but those days are long gone. So, I would say it would be safe to refer to Thailand as an up and coming country, post Covid. Assuming they can get it together, and put things back on track, which I seriously doubt will happen. I would not be surprised to see Thailand fall to 75th place in terms of GDP, 20 years from now. There is absolutely no doubt the nation is moving backwards, on at least a dozen levels. And unless a dynamic leader like Thanathorn comes along, the great tiger will continue to devolve into a whiny little street cat. So, he ignored the meeting because he felt he could. Let us hope that the near future proves him wrong, let us hope he and his filthy band of goons are ousted, and let us hope history shows them as the callous and corrupt fools they truly are.

For me personally, I would rather tip and help out where I can, within Thai society. I am not a supporter of the temples, and do not really see the great service they are providing for the people. Perhaps you can clue me in, if I am wrong about this. -
If many of the kids here are any indication, most Thais are not exactly obsessed with discipline and training. So, you take a breed which has a natural pre-disposition toward being aggressive, much the same as pitfalls, do not train them properly, and what is going to happen? Like you said, you raised them and trained them. Many here will not train them. It takes work and dedication, and discipline. So, perhaps they should require special licensing, and some burden of proof should be on the owner to demonstrate their dogs are trained. But, since we know that would never happen, I think the entire breed should be outlawed here.
-
Likely it is worth the wait. The prices will likely only rise, and you have a local market, with Thais who are obsessed with the stuff. The real trick seems to be irrigation, and apparently they need to be sprayed alot, but so do mangoes, to get the higher quality fruit, and the beautiful skin that commands more money per kilo. I think alot of people are going to be taking a bath with mangoes in the years ahead.
-
Thank you. Great points. A voice of reason. If it were my child? And the dog was not immediately put down, and the owner got away with a small penalty, it would be a personal fatwa against his entire family. I would dedicate my life to destroying his very existence. This is no joke, but the authorities here are the biggest joke in this scenario. They are such empty suits.

It is extraordinary to me how Thais will line up to spend 300 baht or more, for a relatively small amount of durian. What is the big deal, anyway? The price can only go up, it seems. Thinking of planting some. Have alot of mangoes now, but the market is terrible for them, and it is hard to turn a profit. The trick is a good irrigation system, it appears.
